  1. This really should be opt in for estate owners.

  3. Toysoldier Thor wrote: Stating actual Prim Count now really has little meaning as prim count has no more bearing on how many prims are consumed off your parcel of land. So stating it to a customer has NO MEANING or VALUE. Indeed, which is why I said earlier in the thread that Land Impact is the only number that matters. However, as LL haven't introduced land impact to the masses via their communications, it's really down to merchants to tell people what they're getting.
  4. The horse has bolted, inworld shopping supported inworld communities, renting space to merchants helped communities survive, we've been battered left, right and centre by the marketplace, it's in the viewer, it's the shop link, people are pushed to the marketplace but there are costs to Second Life as a whole, it's too late to stop this. i don't blame merchants for going the marketplace route, that's the growth area, but it demonstrates a lack of joint up thinking.
  5. Best thing to do is play about with linksets, if you set a basic prim cube to convex hull, it halves your prim count, so two convex hull prims equals one prim in land impact. Sculpts on the other hand are best left being sculpts in linksets with standard prims, the land impact can go up with complicated shapes in a linkset with the new counting system in mind.
  6. Land impact is the only score that matters, that's the number that will actually take up space on a parcel, you may want to explain this to people but if they check a parcel's available prims before and after placing the item, they will see that the difference is the land impact score.
  7. The deadlines should indeed be removed, then once all this has settled down, announce sensible deadlines.
  8. You don't appear to be alone: http://community.secondlife.com/t5/Merchants/Help-My-listings-are-messed-up-Who-should-I-talk-to/td-p/1457545

ETA: Perhaps group liability should only be limited to Group Owners and Officers. Or figure out a way to let individual members opt out per group. There's a role permission for it, the problem has always been that it's on by default for everyone, plenty of people who create groups don't even realise this and they can also get stung the other way by this, if you sell group land the income gets split between everyone who has that permission set.

Been saying that for a long time, they are far far worse than what we see here and then outside the game bubble throw in the ebay forums to see how rough it can get.

I'm getting confused with the bigger Received Items folder project that is currently on hold, the proposal there to avoid having large received Items folders was that you wouldn't be able to rez from the received items folder.
  13. Can you rez an item from the received items folder? I think the idea is that people will move items to their main inventory because the Received Items folder lacks some basic functionality.
  14. Why the big rush? Two months really isn't a long time for people to work their way through this, the one month deadline for cheaper items seems particularly petty, that's just five days after the end of Q&A.

In either case $40.00 saved is still nice and gives you a chance to work with the program before deciding to spend the $400.00. Daz is also very liberal with allowing you to reset your downloads and update content previously purchased. All in all I really love Daz. The February offer was Daz Studio 4 Pro for free.
  16. With regards to your guitar being tiny, are you setting th scale as 1:1 in your mesh creation program?
  17. Toysoldier is correct here, it's a license to use content that you purchase or a license to use content that you sell or give away, the terms of service 7.3 states this.
  18. if Linden plants are involved it really is a pain, you can't rez them on many parcels.
  19. Well part of gambling is you lose some, that's pretty damn shocking.

You're not passing the texture to the alt full perm, you're passing YOUR creation full perm and the textures remain in the main inventory anyway. There's no need to send the alt the textures is there? If you send it full perm, you pretty much have sent the texture. How? You can't open the texture and save it to inventory or then download it or transfer it (the texture) to a third party. You can however get the texture UUID but NOT via script but through the viewer UI and then apply it via script but guess what, you can do that even if the alt or main has never bought the item and just sees it in world. So no, it's nothing like sending the texture full perm. You haven't been able to get the UUID that way for a while. How much do you want to bet with the latest LL official viewer? ooh I'm a gambling man Sassy, unless LL have made a big faux pas, you're piddling in the wind, we're talking the full uuid not the partial one you get in texture console right?

  23. I got one created for me once after a live chat session that had ended with them telling me I had to submit a ticket, they created a ticket for telling me that, I still had to create a ticket for the issue I'd contacted them about.
