  1. I would test the alpha first. Check that your system eyes are turning invisible with the alpha worn. As for your eye color I think it might be the fact that you bought a fatpack which I assume comes with multiple colors. Maybe you need to try them all or maybe it's scripted and you have to use a hud or click on your eyes to change the color.
  2. You could disguise it with a tablecloth. They sell those on the marketplace. I don't think you can hide the ownership of it even with an alt. If it's sitting on your sim, people will assume you rezzed it unless it's some public area where other people can rez things.
  3. I think you have to use the word NOT and not NO. I wonder if we can use other booleans. Ohh just saw Kelli's reply. Thanks for the info.
  4. The OP brought up earning free cash by watching videos, signing up for things, filling out surveys etc. which are mechanisms for earning in-game currency that a lot of free-to-play MMOs and mobile games are currently using. The activities are done outside of the game and then the in-game currency is added to their accounts. The in-game currency of these games can also be purchased with real money as well and is used to purchase items that are priced similar or higher than SL, e.g. an in-game costume can cost $8 US dollars. I don't know if LL has looked into these options but most of them seem like ways for marketers to establish a relationship with you so they can legally spam you with advertisements. Getting spammed for linden dollars? I guess some people would be willing to put up with it. There are other ways to work on the internet for small amounts of cash like Amazon's Mechanical Turk. I made 15 cents on it! I've seen other sites come up on the news like Taskrabbit or FancyHands. Maybe the OP can try those.
  5. I second your request although I have seen people bring this up before and nothing has happened yet. Until it gets fixed the only workaround is to try searching for key words that are used when a shop owner has a free item for sale like GIFT or FREEBIE or even just FREE.
  6. I will combine all the replies and suggest making a skybox at 30x30 using the six prim method, link them and set it to convex hull. I have experienced many camera problems when using a hollowed out cube.
  7. Just look at any person wearing mesh breasts with clothes and you'll see how the fitted shell works.
  8. I like to look at all the avatars here and find that there are no new disturbing trends in avatar fashion. Great job guys! and ladies!
  9. I have the M570 trackball. One for work and one for home. I used to mouse all the time but after my wrist started hurting I switched over. Using a mouse just feels akward and painful now. On the leap motion, I wonder if users will suffer from gorilla arm syndrome? http://www.wired.com/2010/10/gorilla-arm-multitouch/
  10. Most ways of earning money in SL are time consuming and very much like real work ...if you don't enjoy what you are doing. You need to figure out what you enjoy in SL and then see if there is money in doing those things.
  11. I've actually wondered about the bad default animation many times. The old animations are just so unnatural and switching to an AO makes a huge difference in how your avatar looks. Why does it still have to be so weird? Does someone in LL find it charming? The clothing is nuts now. Everything is splintered. There are regular system clothes, mesh clothes, clothes that work with mesh feet, hands, boobs, butts, etc. You can't just wear something now. You have to click on appliers, "add" alpha layers or resize your body. The residents are inventing new ways to modify and clothe our avatars but they're also layering on the complexity and making the whole process of getting dressed a less fun.
  12. It might be hard to find a de-enhancer that matches. You should look for demos. I know laqroki has demos of their de-enhancers. Another option would be to try making your own de-enhancing tattoo. It might be easy or difficult depending on the skin.
  13. Looks like a focus on the server side baking of our avatars which is always good. I haven't had a lot of problems when changing my clothes or looking like a cloud. I have noticed how the viewer loads what's in your sight now.
  14. I actually bought one of these bikes a while ago. It is a great bike and I'm sure all the models are good though some are more girly than others. I think some versions are just newer and you are paying the markup of a new model.
  15. Ugh. I think the Oculus Rift is going to seriously suck now. I base this on how hard Facebook sucks. It's like touching a filet mignon with a turd. You're not going to consider cutting off the section that got touched. The whole thing just goes in the trash. Another thing. Every single article on the Oculus rift shows a picture of a person wearing a headset and that's it. I realize that a 2 dimensional website can't accurately portray the 3 dimensional view of the oculus but just showing a person wearing the headset is like writing about the Indy 500 and then showing a picture of a fan in the seats looking excited as he looks out to the racetrack. Come on! It shows how every single editor in the media is unable to think of any other way to show virtual reality. It's like how they show a metal bitcoin every time there is an article on bitcoin. Think of something else please.
  16. Well in real life, the Ventura is a cruiser bike meant for leisurely biking on flat areas in an upright position. The other one, the Cambridge, is more of a regular bike designed for going faster and up and down hills where you sit leaning forward. In the SL world, you are probably just paying for the looks or it might be that one is newer with better scripting and animation.
  17. Minecraft has two modes, a survivor mode, which is played as a game, and creative mode which is played as a creative world for building things. You can't really compare survivor mode Minecraft to Secondlife because Secondlife is not a game. It would be like comparing the driving ablilties of a Prius to a refrigerator. What can be compared is MC's creative mode. To build in MC you simply stack blocks together. There are other items like fences, torches and rails that you can add but the most substantial building is done wtih blocks. It's like drawing a picture pixel by pixel. It's an incredibly simple process that can create complex structures but it's a very slow process. Secondlife has more tools available to create with and there are more things that can be created. It's complex but not impossible to learn. Using the same metaphor, SL would be like drawing a picture with Photoshop. That's about it in terms of building.
  18. You can also set the RenderVolumeLODFactor to 4 in your debug settings.
  19. I never buy hair that covers one eye no matter how good it looks. It also makes it awkward when you wear an eyepatch on the uncovered eye.
  20. I just spent two hours at the fair again. Previously, I cherry picked certain types of skins that had nice ads but after trying on the demos I realized that things look really different on my shape compared to the models. Skins that I thought looked nice didn't turn out too good and a few skin demos I took as an afterthought turned out really nice. So I just went back to get at least one demo from every store, even the ones with pouty faces, and I'll try them all.
  21. So I just went to the Skin Fair 2014. I just found they kick you out if you have too many scripts. It was my shoes! I just went through three whole sims and it wasn't a horrible laggy experience like most fairs I've been to. Got lots of skins and a lot of different results between the poster ads and the demos as far as looks go. Shapes really make a difference! What surprised me was that everything had tango/phatazz/slink appliers. There were also mesh heads and accessories for them. I'll try to put up a pic of what I've liked. Here's a link: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Webhost/121/146/27
  22. Disparaging comments on the internet? Wow, that's new. Never seen that before.
  23. it's been a while so I may be completely wrong on this but I believe you can lock the hips into a certain offset position when you adjust the x,y,z of the hips. So at the half-way point you are locking the hips. I would try locking the hips at the beginning of the animation.
