  1. and they are all very light in colour even the darkest colour offered is too light for my taste, they were amongst the ones I demoed

anyone who creates items using RL trade mark names or characters or logos, are subject to DCMA, and can be in big trouble. I know of a motorcycle maker who made amazing bikes, but used brand names from RL on them.. his items were removed from MP and his store in SL, and his account was removed from SL as well. I do not know if any legal action was taken against him, it could happen. So anyone who tries this takes a huge risk.
  3. Skins are a very important part of our fashion statement. There are tons of skin makers out there in SL and I have demoed most of them. So far I have two favourite skin makers, one does not do much if anything for the new Catwa HDPRO heads; one seems to be totally out of touch and not doing BOM for existing bodies and heads, and one has taken to doing one new item about every 4 months. So I have been searching for something else to use with my HDPRO heads. Here is what I have found.. most of the skins I have tried either all come in totally light colour choices (I prefer a deep tanned look). Most have ridiculously over emphasized shading (in my opinion) to the point where it looks to me like there are white blotches on the face (I use advanced lighting which brightens even without the use of materials) and white streaks on the body. Natural body shading just does not look like that! Some of the heads and skins I have tried would be really pretty if they were not overly shaded. Also a lot of the darker skins aside from being way over shaded, are weird colours, tooo red in most cases, or too vibrant, darker shades need to be less intense in colour and saturation to look realistic. When I say darker skin colours I do not mean the black skins, I mean deep well tanned look. Just thought I would comment on this in case any skin makers are looking. Meanwhile I continue to demo new products, maybe I will get lucky and find a new favourite skin maker But so far the "big name" skin makers are all in my opinion either overly shaded, or not making much for the new Catwa HDPRO heads, opting more for Genus, and Lelutka. Oh and matching body skins NEED to be BOM inclusive as well since a lot of us are now preferring to use the BOM options.
  4. I have been experimenting with BOM clothing, pulling out some old system file clothing I made years ago and stuck in an obsolete folder. I have also been making some new BOM clothing items. What I find it most useful for are clothing items that can be worn under mesh or with mesh. For example BOM pants worn under a long mesh top with mesh boots, as most of us have experienced you cannot wear long mesh boots over mesh pants it just cannot be done without the mesh pants poking through the boots, but using a good BOM pant solves that problem. The same with mesh long tops ( I have even used some mesh dresses as tops) over mesh pants mostly won't work for the same poke through issue. Also a lot of those really low cut sexy type tops that barely or don't even cover the nipples can be worn more modestly if a BOM undershirt is offered to wear underneath the mesh top or dress. I have recently put out a few combination items like this, where I include a BOM pant or undershirt. I think it works quite well, expanding the options folks have. Here is an example of mesh shirt and boots with BOM undershirt and leather pants. and another mesh top with a few undershirt options: Just a few thoughts and ideas for BOM use.

  6. Might also try: TWE12VE Event which happens on the 12th of each month and runs through to the end.. Actually Evil Bunny Productions has several events including TWE12VE check them out https://www.evilbunnysl.com/ Also if you shop Market Place, put in Legacy in search and a whole whack of stuff comes up, and you can try that in search in your viewer search as well. It is not just the big well advertised events in SL that have Legacy items.. many of the smaller events do as well and is often where you will find affordable items in all sorts of styles.
  7. Is a beautiful well proportioned larger woman, not at all like I see with Kupra. To me Kupra is overly exaggerated and very cartoon like rather than realistic. That is one of the reasons I posed the question about popularity. It is SL so I guess cartoon like figures are part of that for some, I just wasn't sure how many.
  8. I just have this to say about alpha huds... why on earth would anyone want to do away with such an important NEED. Because no matter how good a mesh maker is at rigging, there will still be poke throughs with certain poses and dances that a hud can easily and quickly fix.. We must remember not to go too far in down scaling avatar bodies.. In my humble opinion. Maitreya has it locked down for choices with their latest body, nothing was overlooked.. I love the choice to go full BOM or mix it up with mesh and be covered either way.
  9. Personally I have all three Belleza bodies, and my preferred one was Isis, but I also have Maitreya, but it has been ages since I used the Belleza one, as it just has not kept up with what is going on with bodies in SL where as Maitreya has so that is my body of choice and has been for a long time. Some of the others are very nice like Signature Alice and Altamura and even Legacy (both) but until recently it was harder to get clothing for those, and honestly I can't see spending a ton of lindens on different bodies when I might like one particular aspect of each, over another but not enough to spend the big bucks for. I also enjoy using pre made mesh templates for clothes (like a blank canvas to create on), and I have noticed big changes there in what is offered. Basically I think Belleza is being phased out, with only Freya being made now, along with Maitreya, Legacy (and sometimes Perky), and now this new Kupra one, sometimes Tonic is still there and sometimes eBODY Curvy, and Signature Alice, Altamura. It seems to be a mixed bag depending on what the mesh creator prefers. And with all the bodies out there I can well imagine the time it takes to rig for all of them, so most are picking a few to put out and I don't blame them. So I fear Belleza is being phased out.
  10. I guess I posed this question to find out what others are thinking about this body, because personally I would never "want" to look like that. My preference is a more slender but somewhat curvy look. But I do make clothing for SL so wanted to see what folks were thinking about this body so I can gage if it is worth making for. And it looks like it just may be. I do not make T & A type clothes, as a rule but more every day type of look. So wanted to get a take on whether that would work. Thank you all for your responses
  11. I have noticed a lot of advertisement for clothing items for Inithium Kupra bodies lately. I just want to get an idea of just how popular this body is and why it seems to be of interest to a lot of ladies in SL. I also noticed that most of the fashion designs for this body are pretty skimpy and sexy in style. So this has made me even more curious as to what is happening with this new body.
  12. A good way to find smaller stores you may like, is to join hunts i.e. Evil Bunny Productions (they have a web page https://www.evilbunnysl.com/) has some fun hunts every few months, as well as some fairs and special events. I suggest hunts because that way you are visiting all sorts of stores, and getting something free at each store. You can take a look around and if you like a store you can always go back and shop. Many of the smaller and medium sized stores you may not have heard of, do participate in hunts.
  13. Key word here is "approves" ... If all bloggers did get approval before posting that would be wonderful, but as I found out the hard way, they do not.
  14. If you mean take the item off then just detach it either from your pie menu or from your inventory worn items just remove it from your current outfit. If you mean remove that layer, you cannot do that unless the item is full permission. As it is linked to the layer beneath it, so unless you have full permissions on the item you cannot separate the layers and delete one.
  15. What I am seeing in your picture, is an attempt of the creator to get a fur texture. She/he has used a double mesh one with regular opaque transparency and a semi transparent layer on top. This is done on purpose and it is not you or your computer or machine or viewer. The intent is to have it look like this. If you don't like it and the purchased item has modify you can take off the transparency on that second layer.. If it is not modify then if you don't like it I would not buy it.
  16. And the show goes on! Sorry but there is no way any of the body physics even comes close to real body movement still. But when I see them out there, it does give me a good laugh.
  17. OMG Orwar, thank you... you have just given me my morning laugh, trust me I needed that.. I like your description way better than mine:)
  18. Man cape, serape, poncho, hero cape: not new by any means, just change the name to suit the purpose and alter the style some. Pretty handy for hiding weapons too:)
  19. Regarding my comments on Jelly Dolls, I do not ever see them as I am lucky enough to have a computer that I can just set it so I never see them.. I was actually speaking for folks I have heard complaining about seeing them, mostly new folks I run into in clubs where I work. I have tried to help some of them with their settings to alleviate some of their frustration. Thus the comment.
  20. My hope is that all this "future growth and improvement" does not mean a lot more bells and whistles, gadgets, gizmos, and such... but that it truly means improvement in performance things that have been issues for years and never really fixed... My biggest hope is they do away with those stupid jelly dolls.. I come in to SL to see people not coloured blobs, I want to see an avatar.. they need to find a way to make it so we do not have to put up with sub standard fun just because they can't make it work for those with less capable computers. Now that would be both growth and improvement. I mean seriously, how long do you think a new account will sick around when all they can see are jelly dolls everywhere, or crash?????
  21. well I am just one of thousands of clothing designers in SL, I cannot speak for what others think.. all I can do is share my own experience. I think though, that every designer who uses bloggers should and needs to have the right to approve anything before it is posted to the public. That might improve blogging in general and weed out the wannabes who really do not have the eye nor the talent to create something worthy of the work the designer has put into the items being blogged. After all the whole idea of blogging is to showcase the items, make them look good, not to get all crazy with silly crap and weird looking avatars.
  22. I wish you well in your endeavours. I am not a well known designer nor is my store that well known despite the fact that I have been doing it in SL for over 15 years. The reason for that is I am a horrible promoter lol. I am low key, not pushy, nor flashy and I pretty much do this because I enjoy the artistic component of making clothing. Having said that, I have to say that not all bloggers are equal in the quality of what they put out.. A few years back I started doing some fairs and events, hoping that might increase sales and get more folks to know about my store. So the events and fairs all had a team of bloggers they use. So as instructed, I sent my stuff to the bloggers. To my horror and I do mean horror, one blogger presented my items in a way that left me speechless and angry. The three dresses were presented on avatars that were way and I mean way distorted in shape which did not make my clothes flattering in the least.. and to top that off the background was so busy that it was hard to focus on the clothing, and I won't even get into the ridiculous poses used. I even had a few loyal customers send me an IM asking me how on earth I could have allowed that blogger to present my stuff in such an ugly way. Hence, I have not used bloggers since. IF I was to I would need absolute approval on anything BEFORE it got out there to the public, and if I did not like it I would need to be sure the blogger either fixed it or axe the whole thing. I pretty much do my own sort of blogging on Flickr, but certainly not an official blog but at least artistic, uncluttered and flattering to my clothing. So there you have my thoughts on what I know of Bloggers. But having said that there are a few I follow on Flickr who I respect and think they do a very good job. But they are about 2% of what is out there.
  23. There are a few mesh clothing and shoe creators out there, who sell their templates on Market Place, and some have shops inworld as well, all of them with the exception of one that I know of, offer demos so you can see and try their merchandise. One of them may be interested in making custom items if you were to ask. Just put full perm mesh clothing in the search on MP and many of these creators will pop up. I offer you this information in case none of them follow forums such as this, and you do not get a reply from any of them.
  24. If you have made a shape, but you cannot transfer or copy it to someone else, you can wear your shape, and write down the size parameters by hand for all the sections. Then start a new shape and put those parameters in that you wrote down.. name it what you want and save it... now since it is totally your new shape you can give it what ever permissions you want and give it to others as well if you wish.
  25. another way to find Altamura clothing might be to put Altamura in search on MP, I know some designers (including myself) put Altamura in the key words so that should be picked up in search. Not in the merchant/store search box but in the general search where it says "keywords" . I just tried that to see what came up and I got over 800 pages of Altamura stuff.
