  1. Not being negative.. just being real! I been here almost 16 years, I know how things work.. but hey go ahead propose your "solutions", you are free to do so.
  2. I doubt that would work for many reasons. Firstly LL is not likely to want to or be interested in taking on more work. And Secondly this sort of thing is NOT LL's business. SL was created to allow creators to do their thing, within the TOS guidelines and rules. They are not likely to care to get involved in the day to day goings on of those in SL unless the TOS is violated.
  3. we have been down this road so many times in a few threads in here. There are some "key" words that are used to bring up the skimpy type clothes, so when searching if you use the word "club" or "sexy" you are gonna get a load of them. Try using "casual" or "modest" instead. And with BOM you can always use a system layer under those ultra low necklines or nipple showing styles, like a modesty shirt or something underneath. I do that all the time, and often offer these "modesty" shirts along with a too revealing top or dress included with some of the clothing I make. So people have a choice of how they wish to wear it. And I agree with you, not all of us want to show off what we got, but there are so many who do that the demand is there for these type of clothes, so that is why they are so prolific. But trust me, there are others out there, nice tasteful styles, it just takes some work to find them, unfortunately.
  4. Good luck with this type of thing! It is not up to LL to decide something like this. Bottom line is that if a Body Creator does not supply Dev. Kits to clothing makers, then there are no clothes for that body out there (or only those made by the same body maker), in which case the public will decide if the body is worth it or not,, and if there are no clothes for the body, chances are eventually sales for the body will drop off and become obsolete. As folks will just not support it or buy it. The natural law of supply and demand rules here.
  5. I am aware of a few "creators" who do not make their own mesh nor do they rig it, but pay someone to do that for them, and they just upload the .dae files in their name and sell the finished product. However, I am pretty sure that who ever they hire to do that work for them, must legally own the appropriate dev kits they are using. If you get the dev kits and pass them on to someone else to use for you, I am pretty sure that is against the TOS and therefore subject to DMCA or AR if reported or found out.
  6. wow thank you for doing this, quite a lot of work for you, but appreciated! And very interesting as well.
  7. Both MP and in world stores have their pros and cons. As a creator I have both. I have one main store inworld and 2 smaller satellite stores and one MP store. The advantage for me when folks shop inworld is it renders higher profit as I get the full price of each item sold. MP has increased the percentage of the amount they take from each sale, and although to some that may not make much difference, it does to me. As a result I actually charge a bit more on MP for each item then I do for inworld purchases (for recently added MP items) and I let folks know that on my MP pages, hopefully, to encourage them to shop inworld. As a consumer, I use MP as a place to find items through search, and when I locate what I am looking for, I will get a demo via MP, and if I like the item and decide to buy it, I will find the in world store and go check it out in person and purchase it there. So yes it is important for MP stores to put an SLURL on their MP stores so people who want to can pick up items in world. This of course is mainly for clothing items, that can be demoed, if an MP store does not offer a demo I just move on. Some MP stores I notice have a little trick, they do not put a demo on MP but state a demo is available at the in world store, in that case I will check it out inworld. For furniture or landscape items etc. inworld is the only way, I have to see and test the item before buying which you just cannot do on MP.
  8. Indigenous https://marketplace.secondlife.com/stores/1646 click sort by Newest First.
  9. Look for a head skin that you like, and check if the skin colour you prefer for the head is also made for bodies, if you buy the same head and body skin colour they should match perfectly. I know this is easily found for Maitreya, V-Tech not so sure however, Maitreaya also has a flat chested body version as well. And of course, do demo till you find something that works for you. And BOM seems to be easier to find these days than appliers are, at least with the bigger name skin makers.
  10. I so agree with this statement. These folks will not ask for something to be made in their size. SL is so big and there are so many clothing makers out there that they can easily just go elsewhere. With having had my store in SL and MP for 15 years, I can tell you by experience, that not making all the templates you have does cut way down on your possible sales. In all my time here I have never had one person IM me to ask if I can make something in their size. I have, however, had a few send me a note card thanking me for supporting their body (specifically Tonic and eBody). If you want to make clothing but you don't want all the work of using all the available templates you own and paid for, then I have to wonder if this is the right choice for you as a business.
  11. That is one of the reasons why I am pretty picky about what templates I use. If a template does not support a nice variety of bodies then I usually pass on it. And therefore, with the templates I do use, I definitely use all the body sizes it offers.
  12. I have been making clothing in SL since before mesh bodies were even a thing, actually since before mesh period. I also use purchased templates, although I am capable of making mesh, my mesh program does not save in .dae format or rig, and it is way too much to import all into blender just to get it rigged an into SL.. so for me I just enjoy the creative process of using textures to make my items different and appealing. I tend to look for templates that include Maitreya for sure, Belleza Freya at the least, and Slink Hourglass at the least, plus now Legacy; those are the minimum. If Kupra is in the mesh kit then I will do those as well. The way I look at it is I have customers with most of these bodies and to only focus on one would cut the others all out and I don't want to do that. Not only do I lose sales but disappoint some customers when they cannot find their sizes. Lately I have also been, adding BOM items with some of my mesh items like modesty undershirts or BOM pants that fit under longer mesh tops and can be worn quite nicely with knee or over knee boots (which cannot be done with mesh pants). I also do pretty much all my mesh items on texture huds rather than sell individual colours, and I charge very reasonable prices for the huds, so it is like the customer is getting a variety of colour choices for a tiny bit more than the cost of one colour.
  13. With regards to add on private parts for females. I am sure everyone has their preferences and ideas on whether or not these are useful. I have been in SL for almost 16 years and never ever purchased or used any add on private parts. And I have had a few long term relationships as well, and none of the men ever even mentioned the need for these parts. It just was not an issue. In my humble opinion, unless you plan on activities that might require these parts such as noted in some of the comments here. Then the average avatar in SL simply does not need them. One expense, I have never even considered nor ever needed, a good well detailed skin is all I have ever needed.. Just saying.
  14. I agree with Sam's comments to you. You do need to take the time to find out how things work in SL. You will have a hard time getting anything to fit until you understand better. So please do stop buying and do a little research. To wear any of the clothes you listed, you must also have the body for which those clothes were made. AND bodies you purchased are not likely to have designers making clothes for them so clothing to fit them would be pretty difficult to find. I suggest you take one of the names you mentioned i.e. Maitreya and go get a demo body from them, then try the clothes for that label on and see what happens. As a new person in order to get what you want you really do have to do some research first. Go get Body Demos, then check MP for clothing that will fit those bodies and get demos of those and try only clothing made for the body you are trying on.. it won't cost you anything if you always try a DEMO first.
  15. Actually there was an increase not all that long ago, I forget exactly when but there was one.
  16. ouch! that was uncalled for! Truth is no matter what the increase was it is still not great for my revenue, no am I getting any benefit from it that I can see, given the performance of MP lately.
  17. Now that would be something! I could appreciate something like that for sure. I don't know about anyone else but I find the listing process in MP cumbersome, boring, and a real chore, and that is on a day when it is working properly.
  18. one of the problems with search is that the key words some folks use to point to their merchandise, are incorrect and misleading. And that is a problem that I don't think there is an answer for. I once put in the keyword "top" and got a load of totally unrelated stuff like male parts even lmao.
  19. Good grief! MP is hard enough to get things listed on now as it is, what with all the frequent maintenance and errors when trying to list.. I cannot imagine the fiasco if they re:booted it and everyone had to start all over again.. as a merchant, there is no way in hell I would have the time to do something like that.. and I am pretty sure I am not alone.
  20. The model situation is not unlike that of a DJ in SL now. No DJ's that I know of are paid by the clubs they work in yet there is an overhead, costs that must be incurred by the DJ in order to provide the service. The cost of a stream, the cost of maintaining a good broadcasting program, the cost of a high speed internet service so you get enough upload speed to be able to stream, and the cost of maintaining a decent looking avatar. The cost of a good microphone. There are many DJ's out there who try to cut corners but the quality of what they provide is not the same.. In short all DJ's rely heavily on tips to be able to continue. So my thoughts on this are that perhaps Models need to be allowed to put out tip jars during fashion shows etc. to gain back some revenue. As for store models I doubt that this would work for them but it might. Live singers and artists get paid well when they are hired (unless it is for a charity) and they also put out tip jars. Models and DJ's do not have this advantage, so why not go the tip route. I would tip a good model during a fashion show, why not.
  21. wow with so so many stores in SL, I am sure there are tons out there that would sell at least a few things that match your requirements but I hate to see a load of links in here that almost always point to the already BIG stores. So I will tell you what I do when I am looking for something specific, I put some key words into Market Place search and see what comes up. And often times I find what I am looking for and it does not come from one of the big name stores. Just a suggestion.
  22. I would ask the person who posted that picture, she must know where she got the jacket.
  23. Well, I went ahead and forked out the cash for that Nuve Destiny skin; the up side is she includes a cooling filter which does decrease the brightness of the skin and reduces the intensity of the colour which suits me just fine. The bad news is that she has some make up on the eyes with one bright shiny spot in the middle and is a sort of gold tint to the eye make up, which unfortunately is not totally covered up by applying other eye make up layers (BOM) it alters the colour of what ever you are applying. The other bad news is that the feet adjuster layer for Maitreya leaves dark splotches at the top of the nail beds. Otherwise pretty good skin. I informed her manager of these issues, hope something comes of it. Meanwhile still keeping an eye out for something better lol.. laughs aren't we always? Still have to check out those filters by izzie.
  24. interesting to know, must check those out. As for Destiny yes I have tried that one too, not bad but the demo only has eyebrows, and I really would love to see it with no brows to see how it looks with the add on brows I prefer.. also demo does not include cooling filter which the purchased version does.. not sure what that is or how it would alter the tones. Kind of expensive to get the full version when I cannot tell from the demo if I would like it or not
