Patch Linden used to chat in the Bellisseria Citizens group. If he has gone silent, he has too much work to be social, I assume. It can be a good sign, it can be a bad sign. Their first long release went well, besides the stuck home controllers. I don't think that should hold back a new release. Maybe all the people that are needed to help people with problems and restart regions, are working on other issues and can not be available for a release. I just hope we get a warning, at least a few hours before they start again. Best would be a day's notice.

"Dive In" and it neighbor region, plus their twins, also on edge of the new Stilt continents, is one of the regions I monitor. I missed "Dive In" probably because it was released nighttime for me. I said to a friend, that these regions was how I had dreamed Stilt regions would look. The small island with lots of charming plants. Other Stilt regions are not so pretty. The house directions in that region puzzled me, for the same reason. You can see two another houses, also with the front facing the open water. And it is even more of them. Only the pink house to your left has a perfect placement. I am not sure what I would do if I were you. The region is lovely, but can you live with that placement. Will it sour you every time you think how it could have been? It is always possible with a wrap around porch out to the edge of your plot. Maybe change to the other house model that has a balcony facing the "right" way? Good luck making the Lindens turn the house... I really doubt they will.

It is best to have the body set to BoM and only use alpha layers.

It is still 3-4 hours left of LL business hours, right? But I am gambling that they don't release today, and take my strong painkillers and go over to my bed. Even if it's not more than nine PM in my timezone. It is not a good day for this RL body. It is not a matter of life or death if I miss the chance to upgrade to a better region. I have already decorated the ones I have, and decorating is 95% of the fun.

I thought I was done with weekend shopping, but @Skell Daggerposted these glasses... and then I bought more stuff. Like a hat. The weekend sales continue out Monday (my time) and I don't complain. But my L balance goes down!

I know that it is a modify railing post in a pack sold by Blush Bravin, but I have not bothered to buy it. Just in case you need a mod one. I thought I should mention it.

I am still doing that 52 weeks of color challenge. This week: Mahogany. Fun fact: The head scarf is from 2011. I found it while searching for clothes in some shade of mahogany. I have never edited a picture so many times... because the fringes was poking through and I did not see it. Worst of all, I saved the image, found a new fault, not less than 4 times!

Finally done with mahogany. I think I never edited an image as much as this. I constantly found faults, like the fringes poking through elbow, the necklace and so on. And every time I thought I had edited all, I saw something new after I saved the image.

Crashing 3-4 times would make me really annoyed. I have not had this happen (yet). I can teleport from place to place. I hope I don't jinx me now. 😳 The main thing I noticed, is that clicking on things to edit them, has become more difficult. I click many times before I have the edit window open and can start editing. MP delivery has slowed down, but not so much that it gives me problems. It has been instant delivery before, so a delay of a minute or so is not terrible.

I got a question inworld where I got the sand. It is from Reid Parkin, he has two stores inworld. In the "Full permissions" store, you can look for a large slab of sand on the ground under some palms and other plants. Click on it and buy for 0 L. Same store also has large patches of soil for free or cheap. Click and inspect. And remember that all such mesh forms can have a snow texture, a grass texture or an ice texture (to be a frozen pond). Since this is flat, I stretched it a lot in one direction (Z) so it should be high. One side got a gap, so I filled it out with Mountain rocks from DragonsLord's MP store (3 mountain rocks for 9 L). LL gives us both the beach sand texture and Bellisseria rock texture in the content pack. But I thought it was too dark, so I used a seamless rock texture #1 also DragonsLord. After the aggressive stretching of the sand, it could not be walked on more. I believe I broke it. So I rezzed a flat transparent prim over. I am not satisfied with that, I am looking for some walkable solution that's organic formed and not ten and more in Li. The rest is from here and there. Some rocks from The Domineaux Effect, 2 group gift palms from Hayabusa and twin palms from DaD, birds from |T|L|C|, reeds from Kidd and bamboo from DDD where I sink it so deep that the plant containers is hidden, and also parts from "Mesh pond plant set" Landscaping by Felix. And some plants from the content pack for Stilts. I built the pier extensions of good old prims for the deck itself, the safety railings in the content pack and the railings post that @Blush Bravingave us for free. But since it's no mod and can't be linked to save Li, I used another post for the biggest set of railings. It is not identical to the LL posts, as Blush's fence post is. But I am a "it's good enough" person. I took it from a Domineaux fence kit "White Picket Fence". Too expensive to buy that kit for a post, but I already had it, so... To make the deck a bit better, I used a trim texture on the sides. Again, it's not identical, but I was in a hurry. I should perhaps take a picture of the original deck side and try to make it better. But I used the white trim from here: https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/L-Decorative-Trim-V3/9007072 For stilts itself I used "Three mesh cubes in a row 3-09" and "Two mesh cubes in a row 2-09" from OPQ Builder's Supplies. Saves Li since they are 1 Li and it goes down when linked. I have bought all the "Cube Rows", because they are so cheap. Where I need a single stilt, I make a prim. It is all really fast made, and for those who like to zoom in really closeand inspect textures in detail, it is probably horrible. But you can say you built it yourself!

It's Sunday, and I think I will give them up for the next big release. 😔 I have 3 regions that's very interesting, and has learnt how to track regions. So this is another stilt home that I will keep just for days. I am taking alts down to Basic. I am not sure I will finish decorating this inside, but the Havana is smaller and I think it fits better for an island. Can you see my boat tucked in under a palm, besides the extended pier? And can you see that I made the big back deck even bigger? I think that went well. I have essentials like sofa, bed, fireplace and a bit decor inside, and 110 Li left, so I can finish it if I have time. It will be hard to decide what house type I settle for when the alts are retired. One single Premium house, lol. What to do...😖 Woe is me! 😉

You and my alt are neighbors! Look for an island under a home.... I am growing used to this region. But my alt expires the 11th January. I have also seen some very tempting regions, so I plan to release this... trying to get a perfect location. If not, I let her off premium.

More images from Tortuga. The house and deck cover a lot of the water. If this had been OW, I would have had the boat on the other side, where it is only a small entrance deck. But with this an OP house, that wasn't possible. It is barely room for this boat on the outside, and the steps and mini-deck I made for going down to it.

I landed a place without a house - OL - and tried to reset the house controller. Nothing helped, not relogging and trying again either. I know how to do it, because the pier house my main avatar holds, had the issue. And there, I could reset the house controller. I believe the region itself need a restart, but to get help from LL during this long holiday is probably not happening. I choose to see it as "I set up a house until people get back to work and help me". Edit: Just to be clear, I don't live there.

So many fine things are Li heavy...

About the blinds... I almost never use them, as said. But since I have a Stilt Pier, I thought it could be fine to close the blinds on the front door + door window. Well, that covered the windows in the great room too. So no way to cover only the public side. That was a bit annoying. I better use a phantom prim and a show/hide script. I have to manipulate the prim so it don't cover the door, or else I can't click and open the door. Not so fun.

Tomorrow? Not Monday? Now you are freaking me out, haha.

I never liked the LH blinds, so I make my own out of a simple flat prim that I texture. Set it to Convex Hull and link two = one Li. If I will cover all windows on one side, I nudge the blind prim in the wall itself and stretch it so it cover more than one window. I bought a texture pack that has closed blinds and open blinds. Or, I can have the inside transparent. https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/28-Venetian-Blinds-Textures-Full-Perm-DT-Material-Collection/6228493 For decorative blinds only, but not privacy, I bought many Roiro blinds from the MP. Sadly they are a gacha. But I was lucky and bought some cheap. They are the best looking blinds I have seen, and only 1 Li.

I have not cared so much about quality of pictures and such, it is mostly to show you how you can put in furniture. I decided to not have 2 walls and make a square entry. I might do it later, bacause I like how a square room looks. The thing I dislike most in Tortuga, is the small walls next to the entrance. But for now, I have the original walls on one side, and the selfmade wall that's the bath on the other side. In the big room, it gives me straight longer walls that I can use for fireplace, Tv, bookshelves or a kitchen module. So this is a work in progress. The house is owned by an alt that expire January 16th, so this house will not be kept. In fact, it will be abandoned for the next big release. I have 4 darling regions, if an alt scores a dream house I will renew her Premium.

I toss it all in my inventory. And what I find, and when I find it, is luck, or I remember part of the name. Directories? Folders? What's that? 😘
