WTH happened to the MP web lay-out?
graceblakeley replied to Arduenn Schwartzman's topic in General Discussion Forum
For even a mild case of OCD I find it juddering. Leave my font sizes alone. The 'Related items font size is w-a-y too big, as are numerous others. It is not an improvement, it is fiddle-faffing around where it really is not necessary. Behind the scenes needs dealing with, not front of house. Looking at Clem's images above .. His Linden bank blockage is far wider than mine would be .. Hi Clem 🥰 -
Ooh, that's a nice dress. Right-click on it to see what it is .. Can't get through the all-body c*u*m system and Sensational aynul accessories to see. Opens What is she wearing instead. Surely there's a time and place. Why do people wear those things permanently?

I dislike ALL images posted as a SL image when they've subsequently been manipulated outside of SL. That includes AI and Photoshop et al. This goes for all advertising AND images posted on the forum within threads such as; What does your avatar look like now etc.. Be genuine or don't bother.

May I ask ... Do you have a link to this free shoulder fix you found on Marketplace, please? - I'm curious to see the difference. One deformer I always use on all my Maitreya avatars is the free 'SS: Below The Knee Extender' which helps to avoid stumpy legs. It is free. https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/SS-Below-The-Knee-Extender-Gift/17976712 On both 5.3 and X I've always wished for a deformer which could make the chest thicker (from front to back) without affecting other parts. Anyone know of such?

Since being forced to upgrade to the latest PBR Firestorm effort several weeks ago I now get hovertips where I've never seen them before. I've always backed up my Preferences prior to any viewer version change (not easy to refer to this one as an upgrade - Firestorm 7.1.9 (74745) Jun 20 2024 10:49:53 (64bit / SSE2)) so this is something new to me and it seems utterly pointless. I appreciate that Firestorm exists but JFC it has so much unnecessary baggage and cluttered menus with numerous never-used options. They really need a Firestorm LIGHT version which doesn't include anything for builders and sellers. Anyway, the normal 'Show Hover Tips' option (as shown above by Carolyn Z) was already set to OFF, as per my Preferences backup, but now this new hover-tipping persists over panel buttons. I really want to swear and chuck a few F's around to let the frustration out, but as we all know, speak the truth on this forum and it jeopardises your whole SL existence. The hover tip always repeats whatever the button it now hovers over. Extraordinarily distracting when finely tuning positions for sexual organs during coitus or other such fun. I get hover tips, as below, my mouse is hovering over the X- button.

Akeruka $50L heads (male & female) at FLF Birthday Bash
graceblakeley replied to Eddy Vortex's topic in Your Avatar
One good thing about not existing in an American timezone is that normal times within my world are not riddled with the stars & stripes crowd. I got in first time several days ago and acquired the AK Vivian head plus a few other free items which were quickly whittled down. Only tried Vivan on briefly but the purchase was made based purely upon how much I like the Soo-Jin head, which seems to be my default now. A bargain too good to be ignored. I'll likely have a play with it this weekend between the weekend sales and create some new looks, creating more Outfit naming conventions in the process. Always nice to have options and trying something new gives me something enjoyable to do instead of standing around being chatted-up by men with 15+ year accounts who look like they've spent 99.9% of it offline and never spent a Linden penny. Then again, it's not always about the spends, it's about the effort. -
How often do you change your head skin?
graceblakeley replied to Ingrid Ingersoll's topic in Your Avatar
Since BoM came along and with all the weekend sales we have now make it so very easy and painless to create a completely new underlying look. I have favourites but do change often. With the ease of completely changing face and body skins for so many different looks beyond just clothing screams for the ability to be able to create folders within Outfits. Why this does not exist already baffles me, especially when considering the amount of effort put into other useless features within viewers. The naming convention within my Outfits is becoming so bad around half of the available characters are spent describing which face and body skin and height is being used as I like to switch looks readily depending upon mood, target venue etc.. -

Keeping Settings the Same for Multiple Accounts.
graceblakeley replied to Jennifer Boyle's topic in General Discussion Forum
Settings for what? For me (Firestorm): - Preference settings - Same across all accounts. Environment preference - Already saved differently per user account (I set mine all the same). Toolbar layout settings - Already saved differently per user account (I set mine all the same). Graphics settings? - Can set different graphics presets and save using a descriptive name. Available then to all to accounts and can be easily switched by clicking the little TV icon top-right near the clock. I name mine like; '64-lowest-2k', '200-MID-2k', 'Ultra+Shadow[photo]' etc.. The first number is the draw distance I set, but the naming style is up to you. -
Marketplace reviews, what is the point anymore.
graceblakeley replied to Softcakes's topic in General Discussion Forum
I like when items have reviews, not for what they say, but for the date stamp. I wish listings were date stamped. What looked absolutely amazing in Feb. 2011 may not have the same visual impact among today's offerings. -
I like to have an auto response for muted/blocked avatars, especially when they're proceeding with a conversation I do not like or they are being creepy. My current message says: - One of many reasons, it doesn't matter which It's true that I have blocked you but I'm not a nasty b*tch. Unblocking fee = L$250 °☆ 。 ☆° Even better when you leave the conversation open and can see them typing a message. I have one outfit which is nothing but a whole body alpha so everyone sees nothing. I find it satisfying under certain circumstances and useful for when you're being observed and don't like it. Best when you're not in a hurry to do anything else and just stand there for a while as you go make a cuppa in RL .. hehe

A Section For Writing?
graceblakeley replied to Charalyne Blackwood's topic in Art, Music and Photography
I enjoy rhyming and limericks etc., so I'll get the ball-rolling. Instead of just listing a bunch of dos and don'ts or likes and dislikes in my SL profile, I wrote this instead .. I'm quiet and shy please don't make me cry If I stand on my own please don't ask me why The higher you are the further you fall I only look small because you are so tall ☆.。.:○:.。.☆ Men catching my eye are not rich and not poor but one thing for certain I like them mature If 20 to 40 with lots of tattoos please don't get upset when I choose to refuse ☆.。.:○:.。.☆ Those one word IMs are just closed upon sight 'hi grace' is just lazy and try as I might to respond to the many I just have to close so think what could happen but nobody knows ☆.。.:○:.。.☆ My wishlist is modest I do try my best I would be so grateful if you could invest If tempted to gift me keep one thing in mind the more that you spend I may thank you in kind ☆.。.:○:.。.☆ -
With regards to foot height; I never use the Maitreya HUD to change the foot height on the hoof (get it?! .. hehe). Instead what I do is have 3 bodies stored in inventory (low, mid, high) so the required foot height is saved already by the body choice within the outfit. Another 'Why do they do that?' for me is why so many users (avatars), particularly the Reborn etc. types and newer bodies focus so much on tiny upper body with big bobs, short arms and little hands paired with massive lower bodies with thighs thicker than their waist. It's like an abnormal 50% body size mismatch between upper and lower. Is this perhaps their fantasy vision of the human species?! After a decade and a half within SL across over a dozen or so avatar accounts which all ultimately became fully equipped with full wardrobe and full mesh parts, including Maitreya body, I still ended-up with Maitreya (LaraX in Grace's case, which is my most recent account) after demo-ing a myriad of alternatives over the years. Results with Maitreya produce a far more realistic body shape IMO so I guess for some the realism aspect just doesn't matter. I live in Asia where people are generally slimmer than those living in the West, so their choices for their desired body-type reflect what is observed on a daily basis in their own countries.

Yes. I was referring to the lines on the skin, not the obvious bra issue. I had a similar line on the thigh of a Velour skin previously but haven't worn that skin in years, it was a free Xmas one from Velour. While I'm here .. Carol's Store have a free join with free gifts for both Maitreya and LaraX and also a Summer gift card of L$300 for group members.

Stroppy mesh tops can be so argumentative, but at least you know those lines or joins on the back of your upper arms/shoulders are not due to the body as it appears the same on both. Probably the body skin, or some other BoM layer you are wearing which is causing it. Those lines would bug the heck out of me even if they were covered with clothes, just knowing they were there. Call me fussy. Rectification required post haste 😁

Gaming Laptop Recommendation
graceblakeley replied to Andry Serevi's topic in General Discussion Forum
That's one of several dogs -woof, woof! The dogs danglies, that is. If you can afford that then buy it. Very nice indeed. I've owned several ASUS ROG in the past and always happy with them until they became outdated and felt slow. I currently have a Lenovo Legion 5 Pro 16, Intel i9-12900, RTX3070, 32GB RAM running across 3 screens and it breezes through SL just off max graphics and fine at ultra for photos - It is now two years old, perhaps another year to run before I'd like to upgrade again. I don't only use this for SL as my other game needs a very fast processor (Cities Skylines I) Your RTX4070 will waltz it, but if money no object then I might stretch to the RTX4080 just for the sake of it. The RTX4090 would likely be unnecessary and a step too far. My favourite laptop guy is Jarrod. He only does gaming laptops and is very precise. Here is a recent top 5 of 2024 gaming laptop videos: -

A weird Seraphim website issue......
graceblakeley replied to Myth Valeska's topic in General Discussion Forum
I didn't realise there was a thread about this seraphim issue until just now, I thought it was just me. I had the same issues as you with the same solution, Dark Reader. The Seraphim still has a dark theme when I turn off Dark Reader, but unless I figure out how to set Dark Reader OFF for only seraphimSL.com then I will stop going there as I don't think I'd have the patience. I usually have other windows/browser sessions open as well and it lights up my room when they all turn white. Although I don't like it anywhere near as much, sugarSL.com is an alternative for weekend sales. I didn't spend a penny in SL this past weekend. This sh1t had soured my mood as it took away much of my weekend shopping and browsing joy. -
I wanted to say something but I don't know what to say I know I thought of something but that thought was yesterday Today it's not so easy to remember what went by Right now my mind's gone blank and that just makes me want to cry

The thing about opinions is that they can never be wrong, only misguided, misinformed or misfocused. I suspect there are plentiful users who've never owned a Maitreya body and are sick of the sight and sound of Maitreya in any form, just as many Maitreya/LaraX users are tired of going to stores where their body of choice is not represented at all. My 'Grace' avatar ONLY uses LaraX, preferably PetiteX. She is stubborn in that regard and refuses to wear or buy anything 5.3, despite it being represented more than most popular brands combined. But, as @Katherine Heartsong said; the inventory is far less cluttered and way less items bought and forgotten if not going backwards. I made a decision to go forward with X, like it or lump it. What I find more frustrating is weekend sales and adverts in general listing the body fits in such tiny indiscernible text that it's unreadable via Seraphim or Facebook etc.. Unless you're stood standing in the store zoomed in you'll never know for sure. I'm already tired of wasted hopes and journeys and beginning not to bother so much. Having said that, this weekend just gone was the best weekend sales for my PetiteX since Grace was born. SLife is improving for X'ers 😊 It's no fun living in the past. Times move forward.

I had this issue a few weeks ago, following several attempts and doing something else for an hour I came back and tried again and logged-in without issue. The other day it happened again. Repeatedly I could not log-in on this account or another well used account. However, I could log-in repeatedly with a much lesser used account with far less inventory. On all attempts I tried different locations but using those same locations with both the successful accounts and the non-successful ones. I cleared my local cache and the problem disappeared and I could log in successfully on any account. Now, some might say that wouldn't make a difference, but for me it did. On Windows 11 the local cache I deleted was located here and there was a lot of it (around 18GB) C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Local\Firestorm_x64
