  1. When I started in 2010 I had to make do with the cheapest stuff I could find. I wasn't rezzed with a silver spoon in my pixel mouth so freebies it was. I lived in flexi-hair from Calico and AtomicBambi skin. I don't think browless skins and tattoo layer eyebrow combo were a thing back then. So the poor noob had to put up with untamed brows. He doesn't have a trademark fashion look. His outfits and hair change from day to day, depending on mood. I don't think much has changed since Greg's noob days. The only difference is 2022 Greg has nicer brows and better skin. And a much bigger wardrobe. Unfortunately I have no surviving pictures of noobborn Greg because a dead computer ate them all. But I did have the mind to keep an old outfit in my inventory so I could at least have the option for a retro themed photo project.
  2. I've been wanting to do a multiplicity photograph for a long time. This is Noob Greg. He's looking a bit flummoxed about the concept of mesh heads. This is Now Greg. And they've come together for a meme.
  3. The stationary bike I brought years ago is now a laundry drying rack. Some resolution.
  4. This is great! Thanks, Rowan. @examining If you want to see the song information in text there's a playlist listing further details: https://www.wksu.org/classical-playlist
  5. Molested by Crosshairs Looks like you got a brand new name for a band or SL store. You should put a trademark on that.
  6. Because I have better things to do than expending my energy on clicking the 'x' in IM boxes full of double down stupid sandwiches.
  7. Uh oh, mainlanders need to hide their kids, hide their wives, and hide their husbands cause Slendy's tormenting everybody out there.
  8. This is why I always have to remember to park my mouse pointer on the ceiling when in public to avoid this kind of drama.
  9. Some stuff to spruce up your walls with. Lybra has a bunch of Downtown wall decor for $30L a pop for 30L Saturday sale. http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/True Love/121/112/22 Pitaya has floral painting with texture change HUD for $50L during Wanderlust Weekend. http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Atelier/71/76/21 https://www.facebook.com/pitayadecor/photos/3078833812356372
  10. I wonder why I keep getting splitting headaches.
  11. My alts, at least the ones with consciousness, are more like siblings than friends. They each represent parts of me with some traits more apparent than others. Greg is my main avatar and will always be. He is mostly an extension of my RL self and do socializing inworld. He doesn't post much on the forums anymore because he'd rather remain undiscovered by non-SL people. Google Gregorian Chant and results point to church music, and I'm okay with that. I have an alt that is older than Eddy but they never developed a personality or sentience, so they don't log in until I need a crash test dummy for my building experiments. Eddy was originally created for a low-cost fashion challenge and to take the burden off Greg's messy inventory with the potential number spike from collecting freebies for the project. Over time, they became another extension of my RL self. How they managed to gain sentience whereas the other alt didn't, I haven't figured it out yet. So Eddy got promoted to main alt, but they don't socialize. I log them in when I want to spend some alone time inworld. Cat is my youngest alt who seems more like a little sister. She was created for the purpose of catching a third Linden home. She started to develop an attitude as of late. 🤨
  12. Was it Jamie Marsters from the Bloody Board? https://www.vice.com/en/article/jpgg5y/the-forums-with-only-one-user
  13. From what I've observed, there are two ways of setting up the mesh avatar: the applier method and BoM method. This is just a general basics... Let's start over by taking off everything until you're left wearing these 4 basic system body parts: skin, shape, hair/hairbase, eyes. Then choose one of the methods below. The Applier Method: this is where you use HUD appliers to put the skin and eye textures on your mesh body. 1) Put on the body shape and brow shape (aka hairbase) you brought. 2) Put on your mesh body. Put on the alpha layer to hide body. 3) Put on your body skin applier. Click on the HUD to apply the skin. Detach the HUD. 4) Put on your mesh head, mesh eyes, and mesh teeth. Put on the alpha layer to hide the head and eyes. 5) Put on your head skin applier. Click on the hud to apply the skin. Detach the HUD. 6) Now for the eyes. Attach the eye hud applier. Click to apply the texture to eyes. Detach the HUD. ================================ The BoM Method: this method uses system layers as a way to put textures on your mesh body without the need for HUDs. 1) Put on the body shape and brow shape (aka hairbase) you brought. 2) Put on the eye layer. 3) Put on the head skin. It may be in the form of tattoo layer or system skin layer. 4) Put on the body skin. It may be in the form of tattoo layer or system skin layer. 5) Put on the mesh head and head HUD. Find the BoM button on the head HUD. Detach the HUD. 6) Put on the mesh body and body HUD. Find the BoM button on the head HUD. Detach the HUD.
