  1. Thanks They were not so bad, I never asked them to leave because I hate confrontation and never knew what their intention was, so they didn't do anything against the rules. I think they were just a couple of goofs, looking for some fun.
  2. I love that lighthouse, the shark board is a nice touch . I made a video of mine, it is still very sparse but I am trying to keep my prim count as low as possible while hold on to as many $lindens as possible. I also have a skybox I have been creating for the past few days, that needs a ton of work, new textures, and I need to build more furniture for it. I'm at 110 prims total so far, 26 of them being my two kittycats The skybox is completely linked together at 62 prims, besides a security orb and teleport pad. I love building my own furniture, houses, and so on, I'm not really good at it, but I find it to be really enjoyable. The great thing about having a 32x32 parcel of land is that this really opens up new possibilities for me. Using a petite avatar, makes 32 x 32 seem more like 64 x 64, it is so cool!
  3. I never really used mine, but I was mugged yesterday! đŸ˜Ŗ A couple of strangers came into my house, one wearing a burglars outfit, complete with a bag. They asked me to turn on the scripts to my furniture, and wouldn't leave for several minutes, it was kind of weird, yet funny at the same time. I just screamed "EEEEEK!" and jumped out of my window 😂 They wouldn't leave or say anything outside of asking to turn on the scripts for them, so I wasn't really sure of their intention, so I just teleported out and came back five minutes later. I later noticed them hopping from house to house in my area, I think people were kicking them out.. I hate to do that to people, so I just put up my ban lines as a temporary measure to avoid any griefing. I welcome RP, but if I don't know the people, it is a bit weird.
  4. ☚ī¸ I am right next to the river, and saw a dock which excited me because I thought there may be a rez spot near it. Perhaps LL will create a small area by each of the docks going into the rivers.
  5. This is a lot of fun So far, I've decorated my house and then put up my skybox I had created a few days ago. I wasn't expecting to be moving in this soon. Out of curiosity, does anyone know if there is a rez zone for boats?
  6. Yay! Ocean front property, while not in a houseboat 😃 I can spawn my sailboat from my house Edit: Oops, just undeveloped land.. still just a short walk away from the beach though.
  7. As far as respecting others, I like to think of myself as mature. I don't have a desire to belittle other people to prove any stance I may hold, and if someone disagrees with me I don't often take offense. I think I have a developed sense of empathy, and really do feel bad when I think I may have caused others any mental anguish. I find it hard to justify hurting people, even after they may have tried to hurt me. Regarding the rest of life, I'm pretty immature, I still enjoy watching cartoons, I like playing video games, I drink on the weekends, I make silly noises and like to joke around a lot. For someone my age, I often behave like an early twenty year old. Although, I don't do so to gain respect, I fully acknowledge how outrageous it is for me to behave in such a way, and it is generally frowned upon by society. I don't think of myself as mature, if anything I just think of myself as less restricted.
  8. I wonder how difficult it would be for Linden to create a layer of abstraction in the air, perhaps from 500ft, to 2000ft, where anyone piloting an air based vehicle would phase out of view, and everyone else not flying in a vehicle would likewise phase out of view from the pilot and occupants. This would have two benefits, one being privacy, and two, while in this mode security orbs no longer can boot you out automatically, instead a default timer could be implemented. Meanwhile, anyone who is not piloting a vehicle, would not be impacted at all. This way, no one would be infringing upon one another's enjoyment. Technically, you would no longer be on anyone else's land because you would in effect be flying through an abstract layer of the atmosphere that only exists for pilots. 😁 Of course, this will never likely happen.
  9. The new Linden Homes has me pretty excited, so I've been building a sky platform for the past few hours. So far, everything pictured is only 37 LI, and with my petite avatar I have plenty of space to work with, unless my math is wrong. This is being done on a 32 x 32 platform. It is still rough around the edges, but I am happy with the results so far.
  10. Look for My eye view v3 on the marketplace, it is one of my favorite HUDs. It has an easy interface to adjust your camera angle, 4 clickable slots you can save and load your preferred camera angles to (my favorite feature), and you can turn it off to restore your viewer's default view. This one costs 99L, but they do have an older version available for free.
  11. They are on the smallish side, as to not poke my camera out of the walls I have to zoom in pretty close to my avatar which blocks out a lot of my view. I mean, I am being petty here, it is not absolutely horrible by any stretch of the imagination, I just prefer to be a bit zoomed out. Alternatively, I can just do mouse look which is fine as well. My default avatar is not by any means tall, in fact I think I may be a bit shorter than most other people. I use "My Eye view", which is great for customizing my camera so I don't have to constantly be reconfiguring it manually, so that is a bonus. It even gives an option as to not to poke through the walls, but doing so makes walking around a bit wonky as the camera zooms in and out on its own. But, the houses do look really nice, and 1024 in a nice box shape, that allows for skyboxes is a very welcome addition. I actually purchased a petite avatar a couple of days ago along with a few cute outfits, just for this reason. Now that 1024sq appears to me is as though I'll have 2048sq Having the smaller avatar, takes care of screen real estate because there is just not as much of "me" there, to get in the way of my view. I'm already planning on building a multi scene rez sky box, specifically catered to my petite avatar. I'm looking forward to hours of fun, creating a variety of homes, scenes, and even a zombie shooter. The house on the ground is not going to get very much use anyway. Now, when I explore these houses with my new avatar, they are huge! 😂
  12. Unless I know the person I am talking with, I don't carry a conversation very far. Well, perhaps if I am really drunk, I'll start talking a lot, tipsy won't do it 😁
  13. I've been exploring the preview, and have to agree with a few others that the layout of the homes makes many of the rooms small. Surely, I can fit furniture in them, and I find all of the homes pretty, plus the yards look fantastic. The problem, is that I have to zoom in very close to my avatar or my camera clips through the walls. What I would find to be beneficial to me, and I imagine others, would be to provide a few houses with no interior walls, second floor, or even stairs, provide a variety of stair option to be downloaded if people wish to have them. I think this may provide relief to a lot of people who feel a little claustrophobic in them.
  14. I didn't, but now I do I saw your post a few minutes ago regarding turning it off and have been teleporting like a crazed person since then. It is so much nicer with it turned off, I think this is probably going to be my default now.
  15. Sorry for taking so long to respond, I usually use Firestorm.
  16. The screen that displays when you teleport, I'm used to calling them loading screens because they have a loading bar. I should have just said loading bar, in retrospect because the screen is entirely blank besides one window that pops up, flashes some text, and displays the bar.
  17. I would be really happy with more tools for building things in world. I think it would be great to be able to actually sculpt prims, or combine multiple prims to form a single item that has less of a land impact. I don't mind people having their security systems in place, and I respect their desire for privacy, but being booted while flying or boating gets a bit tedious. It would be nice if perhaps anything that employs such a security feature, would allow us to see it though so we could avoid them. Perhaps just an option for some of us to enable, that would display on the client side a visible bubble around the area impacted by the security orb. That way, land owners, renters, and explorers can all avoid troubling one another. As it stands now, I'll be flying around one moment and the next I'll have a loading screen with no warning.
  18. The immersion I feel is mostly exploratory and creative. One of the things I love about SL, is that I can let my imagination run wild and try to bring into virtual existence something I could never do in real life, I can also see what other people have built and feel an appreciation for their creativity. It is different from a game though, because there is no real objective, no story, or lore, so it is not so much as feeling immersed as it is just enjoying it all. I imagine if I were to RP, it would be very easy to get lost in the story and feel invested with it. I know when I used to RP while playing pen and paper games, it would be very easy to become immersed with the story, feel connected with my character, and the other players participating. SL would provide such a fantastic setting for that, unfortunately, I rarely have the time to do those things often and I can't juggle that commitment with real life.
  19. I'm sorry I wish I knew more, but that was the best I had and was hoping it would work for you. The best advice I could give you at this time, is to get in contact with their support team and hopefully they can figure out why it is crashing on you. https://www.firestormviewer.org/support/ Beyond the freezeframe, I would probably be tinkering around with it for hours until I finally figured it out and trust me, you don't want me doing that to your PC It would all be guesswork, because I'm not sure how their camera snapshot works. It is strange that just pushing the button crashes Firestorm, that is why I felt it might be freezeframe doing it. One more thing you could do, is try to run Firestorm in admin mode (I'm assuming you're on Windows), as perhaps it could be as simple as a permissions error that is crashing your viewer.
  20. I have dabbled with Sansar, but I use my laptop in my living room and whenever I want to use VR I have to move furniture around, calibrate my walking area and disturb everyone else that wants to use this room. Not to mention, every time I put on the goggles I have others that want to join in on the experience so I end up sharing and never really get a chance to fully enjoy it. A couple of days ago I tried it in desktop mode, and it was pretty good. I'll probably log into it later on today, to experiment around with for an hour or two.
  21. I wonder if it has anything to do with freezeframe. It is kind of quirky when I have it enabled on Firestorm. Try this: 1. Press ctrl+shft+alt+s to bring up the "Debug Settings" 2. Type in "UseFreezeFrame" 3. Change the value to false 4. Restart Firestorm - I had to do this, it needs to restart to take effect. If the value was already set to false in UseFreezeFrame, then that is not the issue causing you problems. There is an option in the camera dialogue box to do this as well, you may have accidentally clicked on it earlier. Since just clicking on the camera is causing the crash, I suspect that may be the issue. Best of luck
  22. I keep thinking of Gunter for some reason, if Gunther is a penguin then you can count me in.
  23. I've been on a Coldplay kick lately, so right now I'm listening to Yellow
  24. I only use system avatars, the mesh ones look great but for me the system avatars are just fine and better yet free. I love this outfit, although I am wearing mesh hair, my favorite prim hair is in the last picture, that outfit is usually my default.
