When I'm feeling bad about life and sl just sucks to log into or sucks really quickly after logging in it's usually time to take a break if I can't find a motivation or outlet here. It's been awhile since that's been the case for me but it's a weighty feeling. Some suggestions for sl though is if you can find someone to share experiences with it could be helpful. I resist saying find a friend, because that's hard, but you gotta start somewhere. You can watch movies, sightsee, find fun animations. It would be good to be engaged somehow. Even if you are not necessarily feeling creative on your own you can admire stuff that others have done. Finding a friend will require you to go somewhere other than home though.. to anyplace that might have people that like to do what you do. If not do stuff in real.. do you like video games or reading? Make sure you are doing something kind of rl active now and then too if you don't.. stretching ect. I remember running across a nice Tai Chi animation in sl that was fun to do alone or in a group.. it was awhile back but created a lasting memory.. stand up and do it in real life if you can. Not sure if you are on dialysis or not... Talk to your Dr about depression and what you can do for it. It's hard to swallow but life is just like this you have to be the one to engage yourself somehow because it's rarely dropped in your lap. Enjoy what you can.

It was your post about how to deform it that made me get the reborn body! So thanks.... I'm still averting my eyes though *shudders*

Pretty Liars Flat A** level 3 takes it down quite a bit... then again you don't want to see the horror show I become without the mesh body on it's like a potato on stick legs..

Actually I would have and have asked for a "boob" body loudly in the past that wasn't all butt.. If this had been out before Christmas I would have tried it. I finally went Reborn though and tamed it to my satisfaction with deformers.. added on Waifu and I'm really happy with the final look . It's also not glitchy with animations and has great clothing support.. so yeah, sticking to Reborn for the foreseeable future. If this new body is no-mod there is no reason to look at it for me.. but will be interesting to see what type of support it gets.

Oh I like this idea. Not only could you possibly make friends but also visit new places sl. I'm EST but might show up at your later time to keep you company some days and see what other plans you might have. Maybe you should convert to the times you'll be meeting to Second Life time as well.

It's usually costume or niche themed stuff that I tend to hoard like that. Like recently at the shop and hop I had a credit for a formal store. Got something I could use then bought a dress that looked like it would fit great in a 20's-30's style event or venue, so yeah I got it absolutely knowing I'd probably never use it. There's another store that gives credits now and then and I get hats from them.. again thinking oh this little net hat or top hat would be great for a costume if I ever put the outfit together and found just the right event or venue. I also have a fondness for purses and sunglasses but forget to wear them. Just try them on give them a good ohhh and ahhhhh ..then put them in the dusty corners of my accessories folder.

I think the key here is you said you tried to do some modelling. If you are going to do anything to do with fashion in sl .. hourglass is outdated. It's still a good looking body with plenty of clothes that look good if you have them.. but in most situations won't work for modelling. I second the Reborn suggestion because of how much support it has. If it's the big butt turning you off there are deformers that will help reign that in.. as well as working with your shape.

No spreadsheets here but I do have a way of shopping so I can keep to a budget. I look at all the weekend sale ads.. go demo stuff then make final decisions on Sunday. However if something makes me Squeee in real life and it's on sale all bets are off.

Oh really? Pick me, pick meee! Let's see, I guess my favorite is a belt a certain scriptor wears that goes cha-ching when I click it. Dolla's flying toward me! Too bad real linden doesn't back it up most of the time. Sigh.

It's not only about a free good looking and good quality head. They have basically cornered the market for women for makeup and fitted accessories. My makeup folder is mostly organized and everything works on lelutka. I don't have neck seams or strange differences between my head and body any longer. I love my fitted earrings and knowing the mesh hair I buy is going to fit against the scalp well. I haven't bought a head in awhile .. from any brand, but if Lelutka did come out with one in the future that I thought was "me" I would have it on my list (hopefully closer to a big sale of course).

I wouldn't change on the spot ever. I'm mostly aware of where I am going before I go though and dress in theme if it interests me or make sure I'm PG dressed in those areas. I think in your case it was all about the way it was handled. There was a blanket group invite ... a put on the spot ejection possibility .. then a rude moderator. No way I'd make an effort in that case and I'd be miffed. I like sims that have many rules to have a landing spot .. then you can read the note or chat to see if it's a place you might fit in.

I loved that spreadsheet. I saved so much time and I'm done with Shop and Hop other than actual shopping the sales. I think I got maybe 4 gifts that I plan to keep so not as much clutter as normal. Then of course the store credits! I also try to be very picky about what I get. For Advent stuff I'm opening immediately and tossing it or sorting it right away into my main folders if I can.. if not it goes into a Dec '23 folder that has subfolders. I stopped going to anywhere for Advent except for places that offer clothing, shoes, makeup, nails and other main wearables. I'm doing really great this year about my process I think I'm able to let things go a little easier than in the past. I just got a new body and that shopping high is a great fuel for sorting all the gifts and through the clothing I already had. Not so much for furniture, decor, poses, animations ect.. - but in they go to the Dec '23 folder to worry about later if I happen to get them. At least it's been labeled. I guess my resolution will be to sort through those folders next year.

What deformer are you using for the butt? And do you have a lot of problems with bottoms not fitting. I've had that issue with some makers..

I'm interested for my alt that has the body. Does anyone know yet if the shoes will fit and if it can be made curvier.. especially up top?

Hi everyone! I'm gonna be one of those people and post here. I am looking for friendships with other women. I notice people post here but most are looking for connections based on who we are and what we like and that's what I'm doing. I can appreciate other types as long as they are friendly but not sure I'd ever be besties with them. I'm not looking for a lover. So for me I'm a love pink girl, immersionist when in second life. I like to shop, go boating, look around sl, and go dancing. I like mostly fun upbeat music but can tolerate some other types. I have roller skates and a hula hoop! I try to have a happy attitude in second life most of the time for my own sake but can talk about deeper things too. I just don't like to focus on negative stuff for too long. I would love to learn to roleplay but could never be a para. I don't think I have the capacity to wait that long for a reply. I do have a problem with some types so might as well put it out there. If you self identify as *itch I find you usually are one. Not good with manipulative or rude types that say it's just being blunt. Jaded types can be kind of funny with the sarcasm to an extent as long as they can laugh at themselves too.. and aren't all serious, bored jaded. Yucko! I prefer not to voice unless boating or gaming, being an introvert in real life I find it wears me out quicker to be on voice.. and the louder the background the worse it is. Loud noises make me jump and can just be cringy. Now and then voicing is fine depending on the situation but if you have to voice as your preferred norm we wouldn't mesh. Would be nice if you could voice now and then, not gonna lie about that but it's really not necessary. I do have a longtime boyfriend in sl so you have to put up with him sometimes too! He drives the boat usually! If you are in a couple that can work, but I'm open to single friends. I don't mind helping newbies too as long as you aren't looking for linden. I'd rather have all the body sizes. I only wear pinks and white and the rest of the colors won't be used either way. I do tend to shop with makers that provide additional trim colors though. Sometimes the just one color option provided by some makers is just to flat without any trim options. Bonus if they pack it in a way that you can select the body you want to unpack for!

I was an Alt, which sounds like a bad title to a secondlife movie. My main was brunette and more like I am in real. Chery Amore.. or Cherylinn Resident prior to the name change was an alt I wanted to explore my "bimbo" side on created in 2011. But all I did was log in and play dress up barbie for about a year. I joined some groups but was too shy/introverted to try to put myself out there that way and eventually lost interest and saw it as a lost cause... exploration wise. In 2016 I met someone and I suggested dusting that old alt off because he seemed to be genuinely okay that I wanted to be a sexualized bubbly bimbo with big boobs. Crazy that, right?? It was hard to believe I know. Anyway, she became my main after a couple of years of split personality between her an my main. It was an interesting process. I still log onto what use to be my main but she's the alt now...and easier to be on when I'm in an unshakeably bad mood. Chery doesn't like to be in a bad mood. Other than hair fluctuations and narrowing the choice of color for clothing I wasn't much different I think just more updated as new mesh came out. I have settled on basically only wearing pink and white with silver jewelry, usually platform heels and feet that obviously never bend unless I shove them into rollerskates.. light blonde or lighter pink hair. So I've found my look for at least 5 years now, I just update the mesh now and then. I'm very comfortable in Chery's skin.

I'm definitely embracing my Barbie world. Not sure I want it to go along with your suggestion though I have no wish to escape the paradigm!

I agree and do that with many offline games I play .. including the offline Sims games, Skyrim and more... However if there is anything resembling somewhat realistic people in games (with legs!) either with or without a multiplayer function there will be those that will find a way to sexualize it when and if possible. I don't think necessarily it's anything to be ashamed of as long as it's safe for the audience and age group that engages with it.

Lol there was a lot of sex going on in the Sims Online too through roleplay and all they had was talking to each other while making out in a hottub or Woohoo bed. People will do what they can with what they have...

What a read.. or a skim anyway. I thought the topic was interesting as presented way back on page one and had some thoughts on the hierarchy and how it related to my sl enjoyment and why I keep coming back. But after reading the deterioration I might as well boil it down because I somehow feel compelled to do that. I think my homes in SL give me the security and safety feel basically. Without a homebase that I could rez stuff in, I have no doubt I would log in less and less. Belonging and love needs are also met. Which does includes friendship and for me anyway (oh no) sex.. Yes I know, say it ain't so Joe! Esteem needs can be met by all sorts of things for me, for instance having a group or being in any successful (to me) enterprise, business or just doing something that is appreciated by others. Self Actualization is always in flux, but basically if I'm enjoying myself here and happy with myself and what I'm doing I guess I'm there. As an aside I do think having an adult area at the Shop and Hop was a good move. I was happy to see it and felt it was a move in the right direction. I've brought up the subject before with friends that if there was another social platform that did .. err intimate animations better and smoother with high quality avatar customization and other social and creative outlets to engage in I'd dump SL to be there as long as it wasn't cost prohibitive.

I dunno usually I have problems with neighbors putting ugly things up. Big screens. Tall modern buildings in a snowy landscape with mostly cabins. Low skyboxes. Sandboxes with just prims floating around. The list of ugly views can go on and on... If their home area looks like yours I'd consider it a backdrop or continuation of a theme and enjoy the view personally.

I don't think it will stop me from buying an item if the price goes up 25 linden... with some caveats. The product has to be great when I demo it .. in my color(s), unique cute looking mesh, great fit (no skin bouncing through). Then It will go on my possible buy list to sort through on Sunday. The now and then impulse buys just have to be cut. I have decided to try to stick to spending 300 a week .. my stipend. Actually, I'd like to bring that down to 200 or 250 so I can have a buffer of growth. It's not that I can't afford to buy more but I'm naturally frugal and this linden buying price change was my tipping point. It took all the fun out of impulse buys for me. So my weekend sale hobby is going to be cut to deciding and window shopping and maybe even skipping some weeks. Yikes! Actually this thread has reminded me to transfer what linden I have to an alt .. minus the 300. It's time to start the frugal adventure.. lol.

It's just another discouragement for me. Almost on par as when they announced Premium Plus. I kept one Premium account then and dumped another over that. It had nothing to offer me. All the boosting and fanfare of something big is coming added to that discouragement. At least they didn't do that this time. I only have a Premium account .. and a linden house. I do like to shop however and buy linden a couple times a month to cover my habits. I think it's time I learned to live within in my stipend only. This will mean less spending from this resident and probably no tipping. I don't know if I'm a normal user in secondlife but I'm sure I'm not the only one that will be deciding to spend less here. I don't get it. I keep waiting for them to announce something that will boost retention, engagement and new users. It's starting to feel like they are just sucking the place dry before it collapses. Trickle down? Yeah no, trickle out.
