    I still run Win7 on a couple machines at my bar. They run the system that our touch-screen ordering system uses. The bar ordering system won't work on Win8 or higher and is no longer available as a perpetual license. A new version is available only as a SAAS and would've cost us many times what our old system cost and has less features. We also have a Win7 laptop at home that works like a kitten and I sometimes log into SL on it.

    Pet Peeve 1060: People who think Meta had the first "meta-verse." Pet Peeve 1060a: Same peeps that call you a liar when you say SL preceded Meta by least 2 decades. Bonus: The deer in the headlight look when you show them SL and they notice the toons have legs!

    Usually the board shoots a blue notice like..... "You are about to reply to a thread that has been inactive for 9,443,195.2 days. Please take a moment to consider if this thread is worth bumping." Not sure what the threshold it for that here. The threads should auto-lock after so much time like on other boards.

    I've seen many an argument in a club. Usually about politics or religion. Like the mboards here, many clubs don't allow certain topics.

    Find a venue with a sploder that has a $L5 minimum buy in and put the 8 in the thing. Yes Virginia --- there's still sploders in world!

    Recently I logged in world and noticed a lot more bots then before. Place I landed at was a couple of people talking how they're sick of them. I put my 5¢ in and gave them the link from the Jira and the bots issue is on everyone's radar. One of the persons thinks some might belong to a big company and he was planning to post it here on the boards. I suggested he lodge a ticket instead.

    Hopefully some action will happen on the Jira. Probably should've been done earlier instead of the topics that were made.

    Most streams you rent --- you can go to the server's admin and view the IPs of those listening in.

    I remember long ago a PM from a shop owner asking how the weather in the town I live. Her PM was like "Thanks for buying the blah-blah dress, how's the weather in (town-name)?" How did she know? I use a VPN and she knew the actual location I was at. I asked and got no reply --- but chatting with some others both in world and in RL, I was asked if the item from her used a HUD. The dress did have a HUD and doing some sleuthing I discovered it was calling home. I contacted the seller again and bought that up with her, she sounded angry said "leave me alone, please delete the product, I'm refunding you." Then a 2nd PM came saying "I'm going to do an AR on you for harassment, just leave me the **** alone."

    Me either. Peeves where I'm at - no ocean and no local Linden Lab office! We're in the boonies.

    A lot of boards disallow discussion on controversial topics like politics, etc. Even the amateur radio board I'm a Mod on disallows that. Too many feelings get hurt. There are boards on the big wide web made for those topics and leave the other boards like the amateur radio board for radio stuff, this board for SL/Lab stuff and so on.

    Too bad the Pacific isn't warmer then the Gulf. Be another selling point for the Lab to get new hires at their HQ in San Francisco and heading to the local beaches for lunch or something.

    Sadly probably soon. I am curious why all the bot threads lately.... I wonder if it's something best handled lodging tickets to the help desk?

    Some MMOs ignore the bots. My man played a game called Rappelz and remember seeing tons of bots in there from spamming chat with a website to buy gold to "farming" ones. He sent tickets in, nothing was done. He contacted a Mod and they said they were powerless. As for SL, there should be a setting for them. I do have a feeling this thread will get turfed though since the bot thing been bought up few times before.

    When I made my buildings --- it was prims all the way. Faster loading on slower machines then Mesh.

    My daughter used to have Alexa speaker --- but my man kept telling it to "cut the cheese" over and over. She finally got rid of it! Told her if wants to find answers, log into SL!

    I got an Alexa speaker for Boxing Day a couple years ago and it sat in the box until one of my employees wanted it to build a little PA speaker out of it and remove the Amazon guts. We're not into the smart house crap. I wonder if SL will get the capability to control your avi with your voice (not the voice chat thing) someday. I can see "walk forward - stop!" or "Sit down!"

    SL could be expensive --- but necroposts are cheap!

    I don't use voice due my bad stuttering problem and even have issues in our RL bar business. Since me and my man are proficient in Sign Language, we usually communicate that way, even when vendors visit the bar. As for SL voice, I will listen if it's a small group of peeps I know, like some music performers when I ran a club --- but I type back.
