  1. I agree 100%. I think you hit the nail on the head in your first post though; the thing is I think they see the other responses, just feel their response is somehow better.
  2. Let me reiterate why you can’t. Animations have a transition. On one end of the transition scale your avatar will literally snap into a pose, on the other end your avatar will move at varying speeds into the next pose, the transition speed of an animation varies from creator to creator and when it was made. Earlier static poses tend to snap. Most of the time, static poses have a fast transition time. There are creators that make static poses that transition slower into the next pose, but if you have a pose that snaps into the pose it’s pretty unlikely you have a mod pose where you can adjust the transition. The only thing you really can do is get some standing poses that have a slower transition. That will help some, but it’s still not going to look completely smooth.

  4. I understand what you’re asking now. You want to go from your standing poses to walking smoothly. Couple of problems with that: 1) If you look closely at even a packaged AO the transition isn’t all that smooth, the difference is those are usually animated, so it’s harder to notice. Whereas going from static to animated is going to be super noticeable. 2) Static AO tend to be jerky even when they cycle through the animations on their own. When you put together your own ao from different creators, you’ll tend to have a bunch of animations where your body is in different positions for each animation. Which will make your body snap to the next animation. So long story short, what you’re asking for isn’t really possible.
  5. If it’s labeled as a standing AO. 9 times out of 10 it’s just a series of stands. No walking or running animations included. When you demo it, does it have walking, flying animations?

  7. I’m not paying a host more than 200L, especially if all they do are those canned gestures. If they really get people involved and are friendly I would tip more than that. I haven’t seen a host like that in....wooooo...long time. A DJ might get upwards of 500-1000, if they’re playing my jams. Someone crying about tips? And they’re trash at whatever they’re supposed to be doing? I’m leaving and never coming back to that venue.

  9. Now, now.... It’s possible for someone to create an account just for making things. Many people do that and I have said this account started off as a modeling dummy/alt many times on here. It’s a common thing for creators to do.
  10. It’s kind of like graduating with a shiny masters degree and all of the available entry level jobs have a five year experience requirement. The common practice for some kits is that you have an established store in SL. The good news is every body creator doesn’t have a strict requirement. Tonic, ebody and signature Alice all have freely available kits. My suggestion is to get those kits and start out creating for those bodies. The people that wear those bodies will be grateful and will buy your things. Just a few items on MP will get you in the door. The turn around times vary. I remember Slink sent a kit in two days, Belleza and Maitreya take longer. It’s better to start that way, you’ll start out generating income and you’ll be occupied creating while you wait for other kits to come in.
  11. I try to be self-aware about myself in SL, sometimes successfully, sometimes not. In my opinion, it comes down to a few things: people are inherently irrational/ego driven, it’s the internet, SL is a universe where it’s ok to be someone else. When you have all three of those things, you get what you sometimes get in SL. I agree it’s a people thing, but at the same time I tend to take what most people say with a grain of salt at all times. So someone says they avoid drama, at some point when drama is always around a person...they have something to do with it. The beauty of SL is you can always TP, ignore and block. I log in to relax, some people don’t.
  12. People lie in SL all the time about anything. That being said, it is possible. It depends on what you consider successful and profitable. Is not having to pay for anything in SL due to your profits considered successful? Is cashing out 6 figures a year considered successful? Obviously. Is it possible? Yes. Would I quit my job to attempt it? Hell no. Most creators on SL have a 9-5 and creating content is a hobby. So I would say most people can generate enough to cover SL expenses easily with a modest shop on MP. Six figures? I still say it’s possible and here’s why: there are some creators that have multiple stores and sell multiple products across multiple platforms. Whether it’s actually one person pushing out content like that is up for debate, but it’s happening. I know of one creator that makes clothes on SL, IMVU and the Sims. If they have more than one store and average $100 in sales per week (which is doable) for each store, that would add up pretty quickly. That’s not even counting selling assets on a site like Turbosquid. Doable yes, I would imagine doing something like that would take up a lot of your day, but it’s possible.
