The thing about shopping for clothes in SL is it’s seasonal. This is actually a good time to find things that would cover more. So you’re going to find more jeans, pants, sweaters, longer dresses. That leaves one problem. Footwear. Sandals are going to be harder to find because they’re not in season. It would be like shopping for a bikini now. Sure you can find them, it would just be better to shop in main stores. It’s one of the reasons I was saying sometimes it’s better to shop in a store’s main store instead of events. There’s a wider variety in main stores. There’s always good places that sell nice sandals. Some of the ones I like are: Gos, Hucci, Reign, Empire, Tetra. There’s a lot of other stores, it’s just harder to remember when I’m not logged into SL. Which is usually the case when I’m on the forums. Try those.

It’s nice to take a little break. That’s what I treat it as. I’m really surprised we switched so fast. We still use telnet connected to a mainframe.

We upgraded to windows 10 at my office last Thursday and Friday. I logged out last night and got “update and restart” “update and shut down”. At least it didn’t force the update while I was working.

Well, who hasn’t read Harry Potter? A lot of anime and manga deals with these kinds of issues too. You start seeing the same archetypes after a while. I don’t think I’ve ever run into a Draco Malfoy in real life. It’s a pretty awkward age for everyone. I’d really love to see a story from a Bully’s perspective. There was a YA novel called CRASH by Jerry Spinelli that comes pretty close. The kid was kind of a butt in the beginning, but it kind of levels out and he’s a normal kid with issues by the end. My school life was closer to Degrassi, maybe with a little Euphoria thrown in, than John Hughes. Someone had to go through something like that for those kinds of stories to be popular.

You know what’s funny about this? Me and my husband were watching one of those John Hughes movies. We started talking about all of those high school movies where the kids are super cruel and there’s a jock group, nerd group, pretty girl group, stoner group, misfit group. That just wasn’t our experience, he went to school in NYC and I went to school in Montreal, but they make the best movies.

I’m probably the odd one out, but I’ve pretty much fit in anywhere I go. The closest thing to not fitting in was when I was just starting school, I got made fun of because of my hair. My mother really didn’t know what to do with it or how to do it. So it kind of looked like a bird’s nest for a little while. She learned though and everything was fine. I wasn’t super popular, but I had really good friends all throughout school. I’ve always been kind of arty, so I went to an art school and I fit in again. When I started the job I have now, I started with another woman and they call us “Sun and Moon”. My supervisor told me she felt like I fit in right away. That probably gives an idea of my personality. I wouldn’t consider myself an introvert though, more of an ambivert. I think everybody feels like they don’t fit in to some extent. Especially in a lot of social situations.

There are some really nice bodies out there, they just aren’t as supported, which is a shame, because the demand is there! I have them all. I mainly use Freya, though I think Isis is very nice too, it just isn’t as supported. It’s well supported, but every once in a while...you run into a Maitreya exclusive or a Maitreya/Hourglass Maitreya/Legacy combo, which is annoying. Slink is a nice body. It’s doing everything right. First to adopt BoM, lower poly. Support is just about as good as Freya. If there was no Freya, I’d probably wear that most of the time. Ebody is also very nice, the clothes that are available are templates or on the janky side. There is definitely a market there. Legacy is a very nice body. I don’t have that one. I’m surprised it got as much support as it got so fast, given their history. Due to their history, I just won’t buy it though. Maitreya....I’m with you on that one. It just doesn’t do it for me. Not going to trash them, I just don’t like the aesthetics. I don’t switch when I see a exclusive outfit I want. I know that’s a thing for some people. I just keep on walking. Alice is an excellent body. It’s BoM. I really like the shape and aesthetics. Had it come out a couple months before Legacy, it probably would’ve been the “it” body. I want to wear it, it just doesn’t get any support, which is a shame.

I was on earlier today for a couple hours.

I’ve only been messing with the Lelutka demo, but I’m pretty sure it has full specularity on the entire head. It even has shine control on the hud. So that would mean it’s using materials.

Yeah, my job blocks anything “game” related, so the forums, dashboard, etc blocked, I think even Flickr is blocked. Facebook, Reddit, YouTube, Spotify no problem! My husband doesn’t “get it” he doesn’t hover. But he can play one of those video games where you run around punching trees and rocks to make tools, then punch some more trees and rocks to build more stuff for hours and tame animals. I don’t get that either, so we’re even. That’s usually when I log on to SL.

Still waiting on my unicorn with a glitter mane too! Forgot about that...

Yeah, I’m thinking 3000 L a week sounds about right. Also, the ability to convert and direct deposit Linden dollars into the currency of my choosing. It should be coded into the viewer. Matter of fact....why haven’t LL done this already after 16 years? See, this is why the numbers are down, they can’t even do little things like this for meeeeee. You’re slackin’ LL....slackin’!

Get a job where all “games” are blocked. Get a spouse/significant other that hovers when you’re doing anything SL related. Bonus if they’re not into SL, they just show up randomly and say “Whatcha dewin?!” Or “I don’t get it” You’ll gradually wean yourself off.
