  1. I find I almost always need to alpha-out some aspect of the shoulder-arm connection on Lara, even for clothes from so-called 'good' (and expensive) designers (e.g. Meva and Blueberry). This may be because I won't compromise on my height (5'3"), nor give myself hyper-hips and broad shoulders.
  2. Hey, isn't guessing fun!!! I often use Lucybody Vania as a low-impact alternative for Lara+Petite. It works well, especially as I know how to make custom alphas. It would be wonderful (for me) if a new Lara had an alpha-cut-free low-impact version. I also craft my own skins, by layering BoM bits (details, details) on top of a basic skin, so I will not be too worried about skin compatibility. My guess will be that the BoM details market will love a new UV map, just like the EvoX revolution.
  3. I used the supplied Lelutka (Lilly) eyes in BoM mode, and got my BoM eyes from Glam Affair, but they do have that daft baked-in shadow. You can also use old System Eyes as BoM.
  4. I have a 'set' that are copies of the originals in a single folder in my inventory. I put this on, and then use the 'Appearance' button with 'Edit Outfit' in Firestorm to move the layers to the right order. Then when I want that set, I put on that folder. I am not answering your question, I know, as I am just as mystified as you about this, but my method seems to work. Hopefully some clever person will turn up and tell us the real secret.
  5. There is also the option of cooking your own. Grab an EvoX UV mask to you 'puter, import it into something like GIMP (or that windows program I always forget. Photoblot or something), and paint your own freckles. Then spend 10 Lindens to import it. And Your freckles will be unique!
  6. Well I did go and look. It was much the same as last year, and the year before that, etc... Got a folder full of gifts that I'll never have time to open. Thanks.
  7. Do what I do. Have one premium alt to get the house, then 5 or 10 basic alts who use it too. One of them is sure to like it.
  8. I'm a Clinical Psychologist. I only come here to get away from work.
  9. I hope you all enjoy the HyperLag. And anyway I got enough 'stuff'. Happy Anniversary SL.
  10. This is interesting. I usually attach rigged shoes to the Left Lower Leg (copying something learned log ago and now forgotten), and then thought nothing of it when I attached non-rigged to the Lower Legs too - it makes for easier 'replace' when you change shoes if they all go on the same spot. I sometimes notice the toes on the first 'move' after attachment, but not after that. I even tried watching with an alt, to check I wasn't fooling myself.
  11. I started going through my immense wardrobe of shoes and boots. Lots of the older ones are un-rigged, and come in left and right. I got quite good at positioning them on my Maitreya feet. I guess the modern rigged ones are easier, and just take up one mounting point, but I find I rather like some of the old un-rigged ones. Is there any disadvantage that I haven't spotted yet? Or is just convenience?
  12. I'm having an 'interact less', 'make more' time right now. RL is especially horrific during the grass pollen season here, so I spend time in SL. One of the great things about foliage in SL - no pollen.
  13. Yes, horses go through many region crossings well, walking is also usually good. Then, unaccountably, about one in 25 or so, you get a bad one and have to relog. Flying, or Sailing, the rate falls to one every 5 or so, possibly related to the speed, and the time between crossings. I never cross near a corner at even a slow realistic boat speed. My theory is that the region you are now in hasn't gotten everything filed right before the next crossing. It IS related to scripted objects, but a plane or boat has to save some scripts or it's not vaguely realistic. I'm glad it's a minority sport, I too don't have any issues when I just stand in the dance AO and listen to the same old tracks....
  14. I'd like region crossing like we used to have before the move to AWS, where you could fly. Every time I try to fly I find myself logged out after 3-5 crossings, cos AWS can't keep up. Opensim is just as bad BTW - same basic technology.
  15. Always remember that 'front page product descriptions' (but not the 'Terms and Conditions), are advertising (anywhere, not just SL). They are intended to make you want to buy, not to inform you of what you get. Always read the small print. You trust to luck - which is usually okay with reputable sellers and if the cost is minor, unless you do. I mention this because those from USA, and many other places, have it beaten into them in childhood, but there are places with Consumer Protection Laws (notably EU and UK), where people get lulled into a false sense of security. There is NO Consumer Protection in SL.
  16. I agree about the eyes issue. They seem okay, and then they seem to flick to another size with a sized stare. I had to give up on the head for regular wear.
  17. Sorry I misunderstood. I already filed a ticket, but the result was 'talk to the creator who owns the vendor'. Which I did. We can close this now. Thanks for the support. For the record: the reason I don't want to file a ticket is that it creates a new account with a new password, not my SL account password. The support system is designed to help Creators, not users.
  18. Tried that, but Castperhelp was not online, I don't want to raise a ticket. I'm on GMT+1. What are the hours?
  19. My fave is Meva. She does do skimpy, but mostly not. And, of course, Baby Monkey, but check out the older stuff on Market - lot's of Pixie's Basic outfits have free expansion colors there too.
  20. You will feel much poorer for a few hours, but that's about it.
  21. Okay, I wanted to remodel anyway, I can turn the old computer room into a new pool room then, and get rid of that ridiculous large a/c...
  22. Just like to mention that I still have the last separate Slink feet that were available before Siddean Munro exited SL, and they still fit on the current Maitreya and Lucybody bodies that I use, and so the shoes made for them from way-back-then are still usable. I'm currently going back through my old wardrobe and finding lots of much-loved shoes. (shoeaholicism (oniomania) is serious illness...) I miss Siddean's stuff...
  23. Does this mean it won't run on my IBM System/360 any more?
  24. I know it's not as much fun as moaning, but I wanted to relate a little event that happened to me this week. Back in 2017, I won a pair of shoes from a shop in SL for my avatar. The shop sold them with a limited set of 9 textures, sort of basic set, and that's what I won. They also sold an add-on set of lots more colours, but I didn't buy that. I noticed this week that on this Creator's MP shop the same shoes are now discounted, and the add-on set are now free! I still wear these shoes, so I got the add-on. It's about now that I realised that I don't have the original package for the basic set any more - it went in one of my clean-ups. So I head to the re-delivery in-store. Sure enough, there it is. But when I get to Caspervend there is a problem, so I send a notecard to the Creator. Not only do I get a copy of the basic package within a day, but a nice note thanking me for pointing out the Caspervend issue (which is now fixed). That's what you call 'Customer Service'. Not everyone in SL is out to get you! The name of the store? I can't say that here due to the rules, but 'infant primate' might help you guess...
