The mainland areas are single prim, except for Nautilus as Blush correctly says. Rentals there are fairly cheap if you don't feel like spending heaps to buy a plot. As far as the private estates, most will be 1.4 or so, not double... to find those open your map, turn on the yellow markers by ticking "Land Sale" and scroll around. The best way to buy sailable water is to watch and wait. It can take a month or more for a perfect place to appear. Checking twice a day is advisable. I was lucky with mine, I was flying around one day and saw the estate manager setting the parcel for sale, so we landed and took it off her hands on the spot. For rental expect to pay 2.4 to 3 lindens per prim, depending on the area.

There is no way to change that. The clothing has been included with the skin by the artist who created the skin. To be naked you will need to look for a new skin. Remember demos are your friend, and some skins will require that you alter your head a little to look their best. As it seems like you are using a classic head (and body), you will need to search for classic skins. Appliers will not work for you.

TechDave has a good solution, World>Area Search in FS. It sorts them closest first. Don't forget that Ctrl-Z works as well as an Undo, you can still drag up the bigger, edit the smaller, edit the bigger and Ctrl-Z and it returns to it's last position. This seems to survive until the region is rebooted, so you normally get a few days.

Yes, I would rez the ear, and the earrings, make sure the position is correct, then remove the ears, and link the rings... Keep copies as Ethan says, and dont forget you can link both left and right earrings
