  2. will there be a slider? http://hg.phoenixviewer.com/phoenix-firestorm-lgpl/rev/4750d36f9ee5 it looks like a easy change from current 2048 to 16384

  4. I was looking for a better viewer and also tried the kokua you mentioned it also appears to be crippled by the 2GB limitation as well are any of the viewers that are modernized updated and or maintained? https://ibb.co/nujfqA
  5. if linden labs put a banner across the top of all there websites like an ad people might be a little more informed when maintenance is happening
  6. I am currently unable to share pictures of my avatar as linden labs has restricted the complexity of avatars
  7. Published on May 29, 2013 this can also affect rendering and viewing experience as well Published on May 18, 2016
  8. yeah you have to really turn down the settings on firestorm because firestorm was designed for the personal computer of its creator only in mind or fps and performance really tanks hard sideways if you try and turn anything on or up graphically, firestorms like using someone's personal private mod that wasn't designed for public release or public consumption with a wide variety of hardware in mind aka better and newer then what the creator of the software had at the time of making the software because firestorm is artificially restricted to the developers personal computer and catzip is not you can really crank up everything and max up all those settings without losing fps or breaking a sweat performance wise with newer and better hardware on catzip i never noticed second life utilize a cpu amd phenom 2 1100T and intel i7 4770k ran second life identically performance wise with a nvidia 780 so definitely wasn't cpu bound back then however guild wars 2 with a amd 1100T and nvidia 780 could not maintain 30 fps while intel i7 4770k with nvidia 780 could achieve over 150-200 fps
  9. nvidia is not the only manufacturer of gpu's https://www.amd.com/en/graphics/workstations-radeon-pro-vega-frontier-edition more moron then tech savvy this forum is
  10. k so i looked up Catzip does this mean that I get 3760MB 3.7GB vrm instead of firestorms 2GB or linden labs 512mb? https://ibb.co/nFJboV page here says so even though your card might have 2Gb or more of RAM the slider is conservatively capped at 1/3rd of total. http://catznip.com/index.php/Catznip_R12_Release_Notes#Increased_texture_memory 3.7GB is really weak but still allot more then firestorm 1.7GB more almost 100% more double the memory of firestorm and worlds more then second life official viewer catzip update 1 viewer crash viewer evaporated fps feels high but doesn't list it like firestorm does less toolbar buttons then firestorm has ui feels awful using ultra preset catzip feels like garbage like the official linden labs viewer does i went to stores and nothing would render or focus in cannot use the viewer defective linden labs official and catzip are blurry fuzz ball when looking at the poster ads in stores firestorm works and loads and renders instantly linden labs and catzip look and feel and run nearly identical and also feel like depth of field is set so high nothing is capable of loading as you wait hours and hours and nothing loads renders focuses in or works catzip trash garbage can't say i didn't give it a chance is catzip just a clone of official? all the exact same identical bugs from decades ago on official are all present in catzips newest release catzip 3.7gb nothing works linden labs 512mb nothing works firestorm 2gb works guess these two viewers have endless countless problems then just memory are catzip and linden labs optimizing for cell phones kinda feels like it with how broken those two viewers are when's the mobile reveal like blizzard just had or has it already happened catzip has double the memory of firestorm and so many problems that it makes you wanna break your own keyboard over your leg and throw it through monitor screen
  11. originally firestorm was first to 64 bit so that it could use computer memory whereas linden labs official viewer was 32bit for the longest time not sure i can run the linden labs 64 bit viewer to many blockers in it so if official does not work there are alternatives if you wanna play in main land and mega sims it is probably gonna exceed double the memory 32 bit can handle at least i haven't used the official viewer in a long time but heard it was locked to 512mb on vrm pretty deprecated dilapidated that the official viewer doesn't support video cards newer then 2010 2010 400 series have 1GB+ memory https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GeForce_400_series firestorms is capped at deprecated dilapidated 2GB and doesn't support any video cards newer then 2013 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GeForce_700_series firestorm just supports a computer better by allowing it to use 4x the memory so performance and stability is far greater then official hence when i do not return or install touch or look at the official release anymore pointless lost cause for my configuration both viewers gimp my performance with the artificial restrictions in place with no option or ability to change settings already in place why all the effort from linden labs to still support 32 bit viewers side by side with 64 bit when amd and nvidia no longer support 32 bit AMD https://www.tomshardware.com/news/amd-drops-32-bit-support-radeon-drivers,37977.html https://www.google.ca/search?ei=RATjW8PDD-XujwSiwqPIDw&q=does+amd+support+32+bit&oq=amd+support+32 Nvidia https://www.engadget.com/2018/04/09/nvidia-32-bit-os-support-drivers/ https://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/4604/~/support-plan-for-32-bit-and-64-bit-operating-systems https://www.google.ca/search?ei=YwTjW7bLHqXjjwSW0Z6oCA&q=does+nvidia+support+32+bit&oq=does+nvidia+support+32
  12. Hiya can you please remove the debilitating 32 bit memory cap on the 64 bit firestorm viewer? because second life runs pretty rancid on a 1080ti feels like single digit fps when i turn around move or change viewing angle with the epic preset in graphics this exact 1080ti https://youtu.be/fg05jCgkDpw Ctrl+p - graphics - hardware settings - viewer texture memory buffer 2GB 780 has 3GB release date May 23, 2013 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GeForce_700_series 1080ti has 11GB release date March 10, 2017 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GeForce_10_series out of curiosity is this software updated and or maintained? feels rather obsolete deprecated to me
  13. Where are bio's signatures where we can post information and a signature? that is displayed under all of our posts? real forums typically have this from any era https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Signature_block https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Signature_tag
  14. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arrow_keys#WASD_keys quoting wiki WASD (,AOE on Dvorak keyboards; ZQSD on AZERTY keyboards) is a set of four keys on a QWERTY or QWERTZ computer keyboard which mimics the inverted-T configuration of the arrow keys. These keys are often used to control the player character's movement in computer games, most commonly first person games but also in many driving and third person games. W/S control forward and backward, while A/D control strafing left and right. Typically, modifier keys are not used to strafe (as performed using the Alt + arrow keys in older games such as Doom and Duke Nukem 3D). Primarily, WASD is used to account for the fact that the arrow keys are not ergonomic to use in conjunction with a right-handed mouse. This also allows the user to use the left hand thumb to press the space bar (often the jump command) and the left hand little finger to press the Ctrl or ⇧ Shift keys (often the crouch and/or sprint commands). In later games, the usage of the E key to interact with items or open up the inventory was also popularized due to its location next to the WASD keys, allowing players to reach it quickly. As opposed to the default keyboard-only controls of Doom or Duke Nukem 3D, WASD is usually used in combination with a mouse. The greatest advantage of using a mouse and keyboard combination over a keyboard-only configuration is the ability to use the mouse to look around both vertically and horizontally, referred to as mouselook. Mouselook enables the player to perform techniques such as smooth circle strafing, which, although possible with the keyboard, was difficult to perform and resulted in jagged movement. Dark Castle (1986) may be the first game to use WASD keys and mouse for control.[5] The style was popularized in competitive play in Quake and subsequently QuakeWorld, notably by professional gamer Dennis Fong.[6] In the same year that Castle Wolfenstein was released, 1981, the game Wizardry used the AWD keys for movement in a 3D dungeon. Both the programmers of Castle Wolfenstein and Wizardry were users of the earlier PLATO system where the game Moria used the AWD keys. Half-Life was one of the first games to use WASD by default.[6] Most gamers prefer the WASD keys to the arrow keys for other various reasons, including the fact that more keys (and therefore, game commands) are easily accessible with the left hand when placed near WASD. Left-handed mouse users may prefer using the numpad or IJKL with their right hands instead for similar reasons. After being popularized by first-person shooters, WASD became more common in other computer game genres as well. Many of the games that have adopted this layout use a first-person or over-the-shoulder third-person perspective. However, some games that use overhead camera views also use WASD to move the camera, such as some city-building games and economic simulation games.
  15. Hiya Why doesn't firestorm default to keyboard and mouse?
  16. Hiya the firestorm viewer launches a crash logger exe that never closes and keeps launching them forever until your pc looks like windows 10 creators update with a million processes of the same firestorm crash logger is there any plans to remove the firestorm crash logger or fix it? I uninstalled firestorm I went to programs folder to delete the folder and windows said I couldnt delete it because it was in use I wasnt using firestorm so I ctrl+alt+delete and there is a million firestorm crash logger exe's running in task manager so i had to waste a day closing them all one by one by hand in order to remove and uninstall and close firestorm finally
  17. A check mark would look much better if you are trying to indicate Havok support here http://wiki.phoenixviewer.com/doku.php?id=downloads typically people add a red x for no support... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Havok_(software) check marks not x's https://secondlife.com/premium/ nothing here offers any insight into what we are downloading like the page above does besides 64-bit and 32-bit and opensim where is havok? http://www.firestormviewer.org/windows/
  18. I never tested firestorm in my old pc that had a onboard nvidia gpu before it fried like am omelet only sl viewer it was awful overheats melts Chernobyl's motherboard and onboard gpu and cpu temps just explode and it just fries and fps tank with the heat and then system freezes crashes also sl viewer phenom 2 vs i7 run same for fps sl viewer nvidia 460 vs nvidia 780 same fps money doesn't really benefit second life viewer much in the hardware department tested on win 7 very long time ago i prefer firestorm for high end performance never tried with low end hardware and i am still running that same old i7 and 780 memory usage is due to 64-bit support for more then 2GB memory, you could try 32-bit viewers they will still average 1.5GB always and forever and then crash lag out etc due to 32-bit memory limitations you cannot get around memory limitations just like when you installed vista 7 8 10 etc no more 16MB for Windows XP i am not sure what the viewer used for me i think only 2GB? on firestorm not sure maybe up 3-4? not sure but that is normal 8Gb is only a problem due to Microsoft Windows being pigs on memory vista 7 8 10 etc upwards you will want 4GB and allot more just run the the operating system alone unoptimally with out use windows 7-10 average 2-3+GB with nothing running and just basic drivers and no software installed for me if you install anti virus etc it will eat up much more memory for everything you install until there is nothing left when you run out of memory system will use your hard disk drive as memory and it will run like molasses and probably post out of memory errors it sounds like you are over due for a hardware upgrade nothing short of installing windows xp will get memory usage down that or maybe linux though i don't use linux so cannot comment on linux I don't think you can prolong those updates long enough before they are mandatory force fed updates before login, most if not all updates for the linden labs viewer are sold advertised in a form of fleecing campaign with no real benefit to the end user 99.99% of the time or more also there is no option to choose and download older previously released builds 32-bit the crutch of software developers https://www.engadget.com/2017/12/24/nvidia-is-gearing-up-to-end-32-bit-os-support/ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Year_2038_problem http://www.thewindowsclub.com/year-2038-problem
  19. you miss understood http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us go through the link it is not 10 series it was only posted on that page it is 32-bit discontinued now and forever i hope this clears things up better http://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/4604/ End of NVIDIA Driver Support for 32-bit Operating Systems Answer ID 4604 Updated 12/21/2017 04:23 PM When is the NVIDIA driver ending support for 32-bit operating systems? After Release 390, NVIDIA will no longer release drivers for 32-bit operating systems1 for any GPU architecture. Later driver release versions will not operate, nor install, on 32-bit operating systems. Driver enhancements, driver optimizations, and operating system features in driver versions after Release 390 will not be incorporated back into Release 390 or earlier versions. This impacts the following operating systems: Microsoft Windows 7 Microsoft Windows 8/8.1 Microsoft Windows 10 Linux FreeBSD
  20. Linden Labs Second life viewer is like Microsoft Windows 10 force fed constant spammed updates that break everything and lag everything etc also this viewer cannot render mesh nor high quality objects etc avoid at all costs defective they also added new script that prevented it from running to much crapware https://secondlife.com/support/downloads/ https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/1004600/geforce-drivers/all-games-stuttering-with-fps-drops-since-windows-10-creators-update/ Discontinued support Nvidia announced that after Release 390 drivers, Nvidia will no longer release 32-bit drivers for 32-bit operating systems. http://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/4604/ Linden Labs released an update viewer software that is not even supported by hardware manufacturers anymore bravo https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GeForce_10_series#Discontinued_support https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/1035590/geforce-drivers/official-390-77-game-ready-whql-display-driver-feedback-thread-released-1-29-18-/1/ http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us at this current time 84.88% of user's are nvidia http://store.steampowered.com/hwsurvey Firestorm releases updates so slow I haven't noticed much any issues or problems yet plus it is 64-bit it renders allot faster smoother higher quality I haven't tried current release yet..... cons are the ui & settings has to be set up every single install a pita shame this doesn't save server side I requested the same in Final Fantasy XIV returning player and no hot bar like gee thanks for nothing why don't i just log back out and save my self the trouble waste a good month fixing hot bars in Final Fantasy XIV firestorm 30 minutes maybe? http://www.firestormviewer.org/downloads/
  21. that slider was as well thought out and planned as Sansar was only unlimited works that bottlenecks a royal pita.
  22. Hiya Will friends lists ever be debugged and fixed? when you delete someone or someone deletes you calling cards are left behind and never removed unless you delete manually by hand this bugs been here since second life's inception? Firestorm 3rd party viewer right click any friend click remove friend then go to https://my.secondlife.com/ login and in many cases they will still be listed as a friend here and following no matter how long you wait to check later on https://my.secondlife.com/ claims I have 296 friends https://ibb.co/gAPOnw while the 3rd party viewer Firestorm claims that I have 298 friends https://ibb.co/nhN17w purging C:\Users\name\AppData\Roaming\Firestorm_x64 C:\Users\name\AppData\Local\FirestormOS_x64 has no effect always remains the same another bug is that some users only have one calling card while others may have three or four or more calling cards duplicates was default suppose to be two? one in friends one in all?
