  1. Hey there! Since this thread has derailed quite a bit I'm going to go ahead and close this. However, I would like to address the concerns expressed here regarding griefing/harassment. The Governance team takes griefing and harassment very seriously, and do investigate these reports thoroughly. Though sometimes the Abuse Reports themselves do not contain enough information or are not filed correctly, which can make it more difficult for the agents to review. When filing an Abuse Report please make sure that you are doing the following: Be sure that the AR is filed under the correct category. (For example, if you're reporting griefing, try one of the Disturbance of the Peace categories.) Provide as much information about the incident as possible and be clear about the issue. If it is a continuous problem, please continue to file Abuse Reports. This gives the Governance Team more history about the situation and lets them know that there are new incidents. For more information about filing abuse reports please review this page:
  2. Hi there Teller96! If you're experiencing issues with someone griefing or harassing you or others on a region, please file an Abuse Report. When completing the report, please provide as much detail as you can and include a screen shot if possible. If an account name is not available, please file the report as using the account name of "Governor Linden" and include an explanation in the details. For more information on Abuse Reports, please read our Guide to Filing an Abuse Report in the Second Life Knowledge Base. http://community.secondlife.com/t5/English-Knowledge-Base/Filing-an-abuse-report/ta-p/700065 If you have already filed an in-world Abuse Report, we thank you. For privacy reasons, we're not able to update you as to the result of the report once it's been actioned, but you will receive an email confirmation that the report has been received by our Governance team.
  3. Hello ItsEmiCo! I'm sorry to hear that you're having an issue updating your Payment Method. When adding a new Credit/Debit Card or a Paypal/Skrill account, please be sure that you are entering all of the information correctly. Even something as small as a zip code or an address that doesn't match up to the billing information associated with your card might cause some issues. If you continue to experience issues adding your card, please feel free to contact Support by creating a case here: https://support.secondlife.com/create-case
  4. Hello heidij24, I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing harassment in-world. We definitely do not condone of Real Life information of other Residents being shared. Please be aware that Abuse related issues cannot be handled through the Support Line or Support Tickets, and must be reported through Abuse Reports. I have confirmed that we received your reports, and our Governance team will review them as soon as they are able. In the meantime, we ask that you please review the following tips about handling in-world harassment: • Consider using the Block/Mute feature. The Second Life viewer, as well as all Third Party Viewers, has the ability to block/mute other residents. This will not only prevent you from seeing what they are saying, both in public and private chat, but will also completely block their avatar so you will not see them at all. • If you are a land owner, adding their account to the ban list of your land will also prevent them from accessing your personal space. • If you feel that the person is following you from place-to-place, it may be that you are visiting your regular locations and the person knows this. • If you are using a Third Party Viewer, you may wish to make sure that RLV is not enabled, as this can allow a person to track your location as well (the location for turning that off is different depending upon the viewer, and you will need to access that specific viewer's documentation for further assistance in this regard). As with any harassment, if you fear this may have an impact on your real life, such as threats of personal harm or putting your actual safety at risk, we encourage you to also notify your local authorities so that they can assist you in taking the appropriate steps to ensure your real life safety.
  5. Hey there! If you receive L$ from an unknown source the best thing you can do is to not spend the L$ and report it immediately by submitting an Abuse Report. For more information on Abuse Reports, please read our Guide to Filing an Abuse Report in the Second Life Knowledge Base. http://community.secondlife.com/t5/English-Knowledge-Base/Filing-an-abuse-report/ta-p/700065 If you're uncomfortable with holding onto the L$ you may try sending them back to the source account (as they may have sent it to you by mistake) or send them to Governor Linden and include that in your report as well.

  9. Hello Jinnywitha Cleanslate, I'm sorry to hear about this issue you've been experiencing in-world. If you have not already, we recommend that you try some of these tips to deal with any harassment you're encountering within Second Life: • Consider using the Block/Mute feature. For more tips on how to deal with harassment, please visit our website: http://community.secondlife.com/t5/English-Knowledge-Base/How-to-deal-with-abuse-and-harassment/ta-p/1339983 As with any harassment, if you fear this may have an impact on your real life, such as threats of personal harm or putting your actual safety at risk, we encourage you to also notify your local authorities so that they can assist you in taking the appropriate steps to ensure your real life safety. Additionally, we ask that you please file an Abuse Report if this person continues to go out of their way to harass you. We currently do not see any recent Abuse Reports filed by you at this time. We recommend filing the Abuse Report under Harassment - Verbal Abuse (unless you feel any of the other report categories fits the situation), and provide as much detail about the situation as possible. Please be aware that you will not get a reply from Abuse Reports, and due to our Privacy Policy we cannot divulge any details of the investigation. If other members of your club are being harassed by this individual, please have them file Abuse Reports as well.
  10. I can confirm that we have received the Abuse Reports. Due to our Privacy Policy we will be unable to disclose the outcome of any investigations done by the Governance team.
  11. You do not need to post chatlogs that you have gathered in the Abuse Reports as we do not take that into consideration in the report itself (as these can be edited prior to entering them into the Abuse Report). We also do not accept Notecards as evidence as these can also be edited. If you have a list of accounts that are harassing you, you may also include this in the Abuse Report with a clear description as to what you are reporting. Any screenshots you may have of the situation would be useful.
  12. You may use the Category - Harassment - Verbal Abuse, if none of the other Abuse Report Categories fit with the issue that you are encountering. Please be sure to also include as much information as possible about the situation so that the report can be properly reviewed.
  13. Hi yuricupcakes, I'm sorry to hear that you are experiencing some troubles involving harassment in-world. Unfortunately, we are unable to assist with Abuse related issues over the forums or through Support Cases. In order for the issue to be investigated further, we ask that you file an Abuse Report. You may file more than one Abuse Report if you feel you need more room to explain what's going on. I can offer you some tips and information on how to handle in-world Harassment and similar situations: • Consider using the Block/Mute feature. 23. Hello there! To respect the privacy of all Residents, and to avoid any naming and shaming, I have edited your post to remove the name of the user. You may review our Community Posting Guidelines here: (http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Linden_Lab_Official:Community_Participation_Guidelines) Additional violations could result in further action taken on your account. I'm sorry to hear that you have had a negative experience in Second Life. We understand that continuous harassment can be upsetting and we would like to provide you with some tips to help deal with the situation moving forward. • Consider using the Block/Mute feature. • If, after the above methods, the resident continues to harass you, please file an abuse report under Harassment - Verbal Abuse and provide us with as much detail as possible—including as complete a list as possible of accounts used in the situation—so that we can better review the report. Including this support case number will help us to investigate. For more tips on how to deal with harassment, please visit this page: http://community.secondlife.com/t5/English-Knowledge-Base/How-to-deal-with-abuse-and-harassment/ta-p/1339983 If you are being griefed (targetted/attacked with objects) we also encourage you to file an Abuse Report so that our Governance team may investigate further. I hope your stay here at Second Life improves!
  24. Closing this thread as the discussion has veered far off topic from the original post.
