  1. @Tsah, if you're asking how to select Bellisseria, you cannot (it's hard to tell, but looks as though you may have replied to a quote inside a quote?) There are at present no homes available. You need to refresh the page until you see Bellisseria show up in the drop-down menu. There's no option to type, no. You must select from the options shown. And since there is a high demand for the houses in Bellisseria, and at present not enough to go around, you need to refresh the page frequently in order to see the Bellisseria option show up and then select it.
  2. ^ This. It's allowed, users just need to allow for longer time intervals or your page will crash. How do I know? It happened to me. Repeatedly. Staggered my OS to a crawl; a glimpse into my Task Manager showed I went from 1 instance of Google running to 5 instances which I can only assume is because the page crashed, and crashed, and crashed, so new pages kept loading until I realised what was going on and closed them. Yeah. Ouch. But easily fixed! Increasing intervals improved it markedly. I'm almost loathe to say "yes it works!" because there are those that don't want this program being used by anyone. So judge for yourself. I will say however that it appears (to some degree) to have slowed down the catch rate. Meaning in the last 7 hours I've seen maybe 2 houses, whereas last night (and using shorter Auto refresh time intervals) I saw at least 5 houses if not more and managed to even catch 1. This could simply be a matter of availability and houses are not being abandoned on days that don't precede region releases. It could just as easily be the new restrictions forcing Auto Refresh to in essence "slow down". Take that how you will.
  3. Maybe we are seeing a different error page. My error page is white with a blue button or writing that simply says 'Reload'. Though once or twice I have gotten the old 'Something went wrong, please try again...' page, or something to that effect. I don't click backwards. I don't refresh. I go back to my dashboard (I have it bookmarked at the top of my browser screen) and go back through the usual yellow button 'Get your home now' or whatever it says on the dashboard. No, I don't end up with an old home. It just starts the house-hunting process again.
  4. I'll start by saying what is quickly becoming habit now; It is not my intention to offend or upset anyone, so if I do I apologize in advance. But I will not engage in further discussion beyond this post. Once my feelings have been made known and your feelings have been made known by way of a reply, we should both be adult enough to agree to disagree and walk away. If only that were a belief shared by... well, the majority. It isn't. Regardless, there's my disclaimer (Oh, and it's not aimed at anyone in particular. I have not tagged or quoted anyone since the intent is to answer the OP not engage in a personal battle-of-wills, but I do refer to points previously made by others. ) To answer the OP question as to what can be done, I'll cast an unpopular vote even if it's not something that I myself want; Stop the smaller regional releases. Focus instead on bigger releases. Release when there are more. Have no contact with the Residents. Don't engage in discussion on the Forum save for technical issues. Nothing. Again, it's not something I WANT but it feels like something that needs to happen. After all, no good deed goes unpunished. And right now, for the last few weeks and months, despite the attempts made by the Lindens and Moles to make Bellisseria a fun and engaging project for all to enjoy and watch develop (and it has been!), too many have turned it into... something less than positive. With more people becoming disappointed and frustrated week after week I predict the problem only getting worse. As many have already said there is no possible way to make everyone happy. When the bigger releases were offered, people weren't happy. When the smaller during-the-week releases were/are offered, people weren't/aren't happy. A mid-range one-a-week release is still too limited for the numbers trying to get a house, so people aren't going to be happy. People aren't happy about waiting. Or the process to acquire a house. Or having the option to abandon capped at 5 a day. Or the styles on offer. Or the colour options. Or the landscaping. Or the lack of community venues. Or the land size. Or the prim allowance. Or lack of rez zones. If by some miracle LL and the Moles managed to release ALL the regions tomorrow and everyone who wanted a house got one people would still complain. Because they don't want to be forced into a new house. Because maybe the regions were churned out so fast they look like photocopies. Because they don't like their neighbour. Because Bellisseria feels too much like a "gated community". Because, because, because... The list goes on and on. Do I think a one-a-week FOW release will help? Not really. I can't see the difference a few days will make compared to the bottlenecking we have now. Would a bigger release will solve the issue then? Honestly, no. But at least there were more opportunities available at once, less complaints of not having "split second reflexes", and there was a degree of acceptance as to when to expect the next release. But in my opinion, since it was asked, the only thing that I believe will solve the biggest issue is having more homes than would meet current demand. I say more because those who would complain about location can choose again and keep choosing without having to... complain. Realistically having that many houses available is a LONG WAY OFF. And while we can all throw reminders around that patience is a virtue, it's easy to become angry when you feel subject to regular disappointment. This leads me to the part about the no-contact between Lindens, Moles, and us Residents. I have dearly loved the chats and laughs and would hate to see that change. But this too has created bitterness, talk of favouritism, nepotism (relating to benefits that may not necessarily be a house or even a job, but promotion none the less), and harassment. Having people so regularly and vocally (and sometimes viciously) vent about your failures has got to be demoralizing. It's draining enough just reading the threads and posts as a Resident. I can't imagine this does anything for the creative process as a staff member. Beyond that, the more some people are given, the more they take; be that in terms of time, attention, or the exchange of opinions. While we can't stop people from having their say, regardless how cruel or vindicated they feel, giving them less directions to aim it can only be a good thing (though I am not naïve enough to believe they will simply stop but redirect elsewhere until whatever fire drives them burns out). Evicting the entirety of Bellisseria and starting again would only create more headaches for LL on top of what they already have, on top of creating new friction. This is essentially saying "Give your lottery winnings to someone else who didn't win, and you go win the lottery again." That is not showing empathy either. Right now the factions both feel entitled to grievances, and empathy is needed on BOTH sides of the fence. While the Have-Nots are frustrated by being told "be patient" by those who already have, the Haves are frustrated by being told "it's not fair" by the Have-Nots. Bottom line; the second you start telling people what they should or shouldn't do you're adding to the friction, not easing it. Complaining about other people complaining is still complaining, regardless how one tries to justify it (And yes I am aware this entire rant is a complaint, but at least it offers constructive criticisms too. Sarcasm does not equal nor foster empathy, even if you think you are joking). I could end this on some moral high-road but I doubt the majority would have read this far and are likely furiously forming responses anyway. This picture sums it up better than anything I could ever say; TL;DR; Do away with the uncertainty of weekly region releases. Stick to bigger releases. Hope maturity comes back into style. 🏳️🏳️🏳️ (that's a white flag of surrender btw, not an axe, in case that upsets someone too).
  5. A few minutes ago (7:15 p.m. AEST) I just caught a house in Fourze and released it. Hope the new owners enjoy!
  6. Thank you so much @Marianne Little; you're so inspiring! I think I might just have to give Blender another try! Thank you again for such clear, step-by-step instructions. ❤️
  7. As lovely as old architecture is, I think you've missed the point I was trying to make (or not). It doesn't matter what the building looks like so much as the building itself; I don't believe a religious building of any faith or denomination belongs in Bellisseria. Please do read the thread I linked, you may find some of the information relevant and pertinent to this discussion.
  8. Looking very suburban. Took Riley for a walk to see the new home; or rather the cul-de-sac at the end of the street. Not the best pic but it's the most recent one!
  9. Some of these are nice. As for townhouses or something similar there's been speculation on and off that something like that would suit a more urban environment should urban areas be created in Bellisseria. Who knows what the future has in store? I don't mind some of those newer/modern style homes and if they were small enough I could probably quite happily live in one. But I am in part reminded of the old mainland homes. I do think mesh up-to-date versions would be nice though my main concern IS space. I actually enjoy and wholeheartedly embrace the fact that the new homes are not huge and not vast. The old ones were far too oversized. As it is even now a great majority of homes in SL are still being built this way, probably because that's the standard we have grown used to, and also in part due to having our camera settings too high in relation to avatar placement on the screen (For those that don't believe me, try adjusting it some time. You'd be amazed at how much difference a few degrees in perspective actually makes in terms of spatial relation. But I digress...) Regarding temples and churches; NO. And I say that emphatically, even at the risk of possibly offending others (which is not my intention). There has been much discussion on other threads to this end, and arguments made both for and against. This one here would be a good one to start with if you haven't read it already: Personally I'm of the opinion that religion and politics are two topics best left in the real world (and this includes areas designed for or to promote their use). As Residents we are free to believe and support what we wish providing we don't actively harass others and abide to the Terms of Service (ToS). There is nothing stopping anyone renting a parcel on the mainland and creating their ideal temples and places of relaxation and worship there. But not on Bellisseria. It's too divisive a subject and people are easily offended. Regarding community spaces; as well as reading the topic linked above, bear in mind that Bellisseria is a place for Residents to live first and foremost. It's great we have community places to congregate and socialize but a line has to be drawn in the proverbial sand somewhere; Who decides what is included or excluded, where, and how many prims are set aside for each (keeping in mind that all are prims taken from what could be a premium home as LI is not without limit per region)? Once you've decided all that there's the issues of public opinion; dealing with the fallout of those who don't like how it's done or think could be done better, or are offended that they weren't represented or were misrepresented, or cries of nepotism or favouritism, or those who want things that just don't fit the theme but want to be heard anyway! And all of THOSE are sticky issues that LL and the Moles really don't have the time to deal with right now. If ever. The focus should remain on building the land and homes we all wish to LIVE in, not anything else. LL have to be careful not to make Bellisseria so insular that people never want to leave, or to detract away from the many possibilities that are still available to all on mainland, or from private regions, right now with no waiting necessary.
  10. Aww thank you! I actually don't live there anymore (*gasp!* I abandoned yesterday) but it's the Roost Palm View Kitchen Set. It doesn't contain animations but it wouldn't take much to add them. LI varies but generally from around 1 LI per section to a few more for others. If you link them together the LI should drop.
  11. I AM the alt! (Actually true, no kidding!) 😂 As for the official decision, I don't really mind either way. I do in a sense consider running Auto Refresh programs a slight advantage (and a benefit to those of us with old fingers!) but then it was/is a free program that pretty much anyone could download and install. I can see the advantages to less server strain without, but as for actually helping to level the playing field? I don't really think it's going to make that great an impact. There are still those who religiously and manually click away right now and don't do anything else. There are still those who are just inherently quicker to click the boxes. There are those who have no work constraints and are available to be online manually clicking while others cannot. And then there is simply just dumb luck. These are facets that cannot be changed by an Auto Refresh program, and are still there whether you run it or not. Well, not now but... you get the point.
  12. Yes. At least it does for me. I don't know quite how long it stays this way waiting for me to select the notification box, but I haven't tested the theory either. When I hear the sound I click as fast as I can. But to answer your question yes it appears to stop auto-refreshing.
  13. Actually I think it was! Or one that looked very, very similar to it. I abandoned the land anyway (was across the street) but I can only imagine the neigbours must have derendered that thing by now... It was the first thing I noticed when I landed! 🙄
  14. I actually took a class at Builder's Brewery on Inventory Sorting last year I think it was. That was actually a very invaluable experience! After many years my inventory had bloated to the point I was experiencing lag so figured it was time to get proactive. Ultimately though your level of organization will depend on your needs and your commitment to maintain it, or it will just end up being a long drawn out and frustrating waste of time. Others have covered the basic structure of using subfolders, and this is the same method I use. I am perhaps a little too organized in that my subfolders have subfolders or sub-subfolders… But its a system that works for me because I use it often enough to know where things go and where they can be found. In my Inventory I have created several folders that I access regularly; DAILY, BUILD, STORAGE, TEXTURES TO SORT, OBJECTS TO SORT, DEMOS. In each of those I have created subfolders as needed. For example; DEMOS list subfolders with names of the sales events where the objects were found. In the default BODY PARTS and CLOTHING folders I have created subfolders which in turn have subfolders. For example CLOTHING > SHOES > FLATS, SNEAKERS etc. Even the naming of my subfolders follows its own system; asterisks is the subfolder, numbers denote sub-subfolders. Confused yet? (see picture). Some advice; I Paste As Link where possible instead of having multiple copies of the same thing (for instance if I want to include a copy of my AO in my DAILY folder). I have a folder called TEXTURES TO SORT where I store all the photos I take and textures I upload until I can store them in a texture organizer program (and then once in the organizer I delete the copies from my inventory). I have a folder called OBJECTS TO SORT where I store all the objects from my default objects folder so that the default doesn't get cluttered by hundreds of items. I have a STORAGE folder that has its own subfolders inside; this is the main folder of all the objects I keep and where the objects from the OBJECTS TO SORT folder are categorized. Some subfolders include OLD OBJECTS, BUILDINGS, GACHA, POSES, VEHICLES, RP STUFF, etc. So once I sort my other folders the majority ends up here. I have a folder for DEMOS that I regularly clean/empty. Which leads me to... Clean regularly! Probably the most important aspect to organizing inventory but people don't know where to start or what to get rid of. These are a few key words that can be typed into the inventory search bar to easier locate and delete. These work for me but of course you need to be careful you don't delete things you need; DELETE, UNPACK, HOLD (be careful it is not for a purse, pose, or pet!), DEMO, GIVE, HOVER, FLOAT, THANK YOU, REMOVE, READ, IMPORTANT, INFO, INFORMATION, INSTRUCTIONS (be careful you don't need it), HOW TO (again, use discretion), OBJECT, BAG, COPYRIGHT, ABOUT, GROUP, INVITE , POLICY. Don't forget to check your landmarks folder to remove duplicates too. And once again to reiterate, it doesn't really matter HOW you organize, only that it makes sense to you and that you stick to it. If one way doesn't work, try organizing a different way until you find a system that works. If you do anything long enough it becomes a habit. And if all else fails do what I did and keep an eye out at Builders Brewery (search for it in world under groups) and attend the class when it comes up again. It's free and takes less than an hour from memory or thereabouts. Anyway, good luck!
  15. I think it's more to do with personal opinion and taste (being as relative as it is). The general opinion being "I pay for my land/home/premium membership I can do what I like" without much if any regard to other people. That's sadly a very common belief. Commonsense and common courtesy don't exist any more. But the warriors for freedom of expression and personal opinion grow stronger by the day! 😟
  16. Okay so maybe it's been mentioned before and I think I am going cross-eyed reading through the various topics here trying to find the relevant information. So please forgive me if the answer is there and I just overlooked it. But does anyone know or have some convincing theories (since speculation has become a sport) as to what the coloured mega-prims above each region mean; the ones being worked on? I theorize it's likely to do with QC or stages of completion perhaps, but since I'm an expert of little, I thought I'd actually ask others who might know. I was just camming around as I've never really bothered before to such an extent, generally just relying on pictures here for updates. Now I see these squares (and have seen them on other pictures of course) inquiring minds would like to know... or at least have some idea... or a good guess that gets the old grey matter ticking over.
  17. Aww you're most welcome! It's actually a clever idea and worth sharing!
  18. I'm here! Just logging back in to grab you a pic. I just checked and yes its my old house! Your name is there! Nice catch! *wipes away nostalgic tear* 😥 But seriously, I hope you enjoy! And if you don't I'm sure someone else will! ❤️ http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Shanty/20/106/29
  19. I think it's lovely to see something positive being said with no expectation for reward. Well done Hamster (and @JessycaJayne) for bringing a little light to the world, and well done @LittleMe Jewell for... well inspiring such acts of random kindness! Keep doing what you're doing LMJ; some of us (though not the snark police) obviously appreciate it. Also let me add I'm amazed that Hamster can type so well! What with such tiny paws (do hamsters have paws? Is that what they're called? I'm too lazy to Google and a little afraid of what I might find to be honest) and big keyboards proportionate to the relative size of a small rodent (are they even rodents?), as well as a great grasp of the human vocabulary (more than many bipedal animals that I know). Such a feat! And now that I have effectively hijacked this thread with consideration to a hamster's dexterity I shall stop ranting.
  20. As @SerraWeckerly mentioned land can't be terraformed, so you'll have to get creative. A lot of people tend to use platforms so that the pool sits above ground, or they use vegetation to mask the sides of ponds or other pools that have a sloping land border in order to achieve something closer to in-ground (that appears half in, half out). There's also a neat trick to create the illusion of depth with light projectors (make a flat prim look more three dimensional) that @kiramanell posted here: (Edit: THIS should be the correct post *hangs head in shame*) It would depend what you wanted your pool for; swimming or decoration. No doubt you could likely add pose balls or poses to a phantom prim and appear as though you are swimming but it may take a little work on your part to get that working as you want. And as for above-ground pools, well there's no shortage of them on the Marketplace. Good luck!
  21. We sound alike. And your place sounds lovely to me! I'd love a house with a water view, and my old place at Shanty had one to a degree. The house was on a hill and the river was across the road behind that neighbour. I could see it, but wasn't close enough. I don't want to be near the house boats as they seem to lag me down. But for now I think I'm just going to leapfrog until I find the spot that's right. At least I know someone will enjoy my old land. Feels weird to not have it anymore. I had it since the first release... Eeek! 😳 Makes sense! They usually don't even start until midnight my time, or much later, and it's not quite 11:00 p.m. yet so... if they release now it's a very early start for LL today!
  22. I think it was an abandoned home and NOT a region release as it's at the top of the continent in Rourke. Considering a majority of the region releases seem to happen in the very early morning for Australia I'd be surprised if a region has been released yet. I could be wrong, wouldn't be the first time!
  23. Thanks! It's a maybe. I don't feel right rubbing it into the faces of those who don't yet have a home, but I didn't keep my old house either so I only ever have one house (meaning my alts don't have any). For now I will take this new house and wait until the perfect one comes along. However long that takes.
