  1. I did see earlier tonight that people were mentioning in one of the Bellisseria groups (I won't say which) that houses would be released at 7 a.m. today. I had to remind them that, unless they're privy to information the rest of us don't know about, that's not exactly true. According to Patch not that long ago there weren't going to be official release times announced for the regions that we're seeing mid-week (being Monday, Wednesdays, and Fridays for these region releases). They happen when they happen. Sometimes, lately, it's all over before anyone else knows and the houses have all been claimed. It's true that the last few releases have happened at around that time, but the times are subject to change. Listening to people who tell you they know can also lead to further frustrations. Just do what many do; keep trying as often as you can, even on days where regions aren't officially being released. Houses and houseboats are still being abandoned sporadically. You might be lucky to catch one of them.
  2. Yes, I have Bellisseria as the key word. But interestingly enough also using the keyword 'Traditional' also helped me the other day. Not sure that was a fluke but stands to reason given at least one group of houses are tagged as Traditional. Also set for 2 second intervals. Every little bit helps.
  3. (I won't quote to save repeating the text but names mentioned below). I honestly think there needs to be a stickied thread about what you just said @Chic Aeon and @Marianne Little - Though there probably IS a thread somewhere (or several) already out there buried amongst all the others. A lot of people seem to be asking similar questions. I think this is the second just tonight alone. And while there is information out there on how to (and I've been encouraged to let people learn on their own merit), as @Leora Jacobus said it can be a tad confusing to learn. Heck, it can be confusing at times for those of us who do link habitually as illustrated above which says something! 😆
  4. TWO houseboats just showed up within the space of a minute of each other right now at 10:52 p.m. AEST. Did. Not. Want. But someone else will! Go gettem tigers!
  5. Decorating on 100-150 prim budget is VERY doable now. As @Chic Aeon mentioned linking items is the secret, as well as removing non-essential parts that you can do without (like shadow prims for example). If you don't know how you could probably search the forums or Google it. It's really not that hard to do but a little tricky if you aren't paying attention. Practice first and see what I mean. Controversially Gacha can also help as some (by no means all!) can be quite low LI. The catch is learning to link Gacha with other Gacha items too - though that may be something to do later if you're not familiar with linking copy items already or don't want to risk 'accidentally mucking things up'. Bear in mind that a lot of Gacha (again, not all) seems to weighed down by many large textures which can contribute to lag. But to be honest it's not something that many other people seem to worry about when land impact is the key challenge. Depending on how much you are willing to pay for an apartment in the meantime, or you don't necessarily have to be restricted by location, you could look at renting a mainland parcel as that would give you even more prims to play with. A 512 sqm parcel should give you around 175 LI, and a 1024 sqm parcel should give you 351 prim allowance. Just something to think about. There are skyboxes that are relatively cheap on the Marketplace for 1 Land Impact that you can decorate pretty efficiently too, so you might not even necessarily have to be stuck with that initial 100 (unless you like the location of course!)
  6. (I agree with the posters before me but in the interest of adding something that might help) You can always try things like TP Hammer, Get Me In, or other HUDS that will essentially auto-refresh your attempts to log in instead of you trying to do so manually. There's pros and cons, and like has been said before me, regions can only support so many avatars at once. If you really, positively, absolutely, cannot wait one more day to get into a sales event (that in all likelihood will still be there and less laggy in a week's time) HUDs like the ones I mentioned might get you in. You can find them on the Marketplace. Good luck
  7. I don't fill my cupboards, but I do clutter most everywhere else. I'm not sure if this is relevant to you, but a few of us have discussed the pros and cons of linking objects in order to make the most out of your land impact. I've quoted what I personally do here, but there's also a few other posts before and after mine that relate to the subject as well that might help too. And if you're curious to see it in action, here's my place: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Shanty/20/124/31 Good luck
  8. LOVE that version. And I'm a huge fan of Disturbed. You have excellent taste! ❤️ Personally going through a Nothing More phase. What can I say, Jonny's not bad on the eyes either
  9. Anyone's going to think we're a bunch of closet pyromaniacs, or worse, that we don't like the campers. We do! (It's just kind of amusing to think of burning one down on occasion, you know, just to liven up the ole' trailer park. Could be worse. There's a lot of wildlife wandering around Bellisseria. Just think about that for a minute...) 🔥🍽️😈 (I'm joking of course. I love the fluffy animals! But not the roaches... I know, I know, double standards). XD
  10. Just got a houseboat but threw it back for someone else to have. I like being on or near the water, but I don't like how close they are. Different strokes for different folks and all that. But for some lucky soul the houseboat is on the edge of the Squishy Pickle. Enjoy!
  11. I think the trick isn't so much to be actively seeking people (unless that works for you, and if it does, fantastic! Problem solved). It's cliché but finding something that you enjoy doing in SL (and even RL) should expand your social circle, generally speaking. At least that way you're more inclined to find people with similar interests to yours so that when the initial "getting to know you" stage is past you'll actually have enough in common to want to stay in touch. Of course that doesn't work for everyone. There does seem like an awful lot of people standing around AFK than there used to be. That's unavoidable. And to be honest I myself am guilty of being part of the IM crowd. I spend a lot of time building or working on personal projects that just talking over IMs works for me. When I was new to SL I didn't know how to approach people either. I didn't want to interrupt. Now I don't have a problem talking to other people so much. It's the whole "do I want to?" thing that usually stops me. I'm not a great conversationalist and I almost never initiate which is why my friends list is usually small. Who knew having to actively communicate with others on a regular basis took so much effort? Anyway, best of luck and fingers crossed you meet others that eventuate in some great, long-standing friendships.
  12. Okay, that made me laugh. The bursting into flames, particle cockroaches scurrying, and then a casual reset. Perfect! I'd actually abandon my camper (when I eventually get one even if that's many, many months down the track) just to see that happen at least once! 🤣
  13. I have to agree. While I've heard a lot of people voice their opinion that the trailers/campers are cute I haven't seen the same interest in them as there has been for the traditional homes or the houseboats. It may just be not some people are not as vocal as others, or that as stated people will just be happy with any style home regardless what they get. I'm tending to think that we will see more alts will take the campers so those that already have houses or houseboats won't lose them (especially if they happen to like their current location and don't want to risk losing it for something better). That's not necessarily true for all, though I'd imagine now that word of the new homes has spread there's more people vying than there were in the initial release. So I honestly don't expect to see a great influx of houses being abandoned for trailers at this rate. I could be wrong about that. Ideally campers with the smaller lots would be great for those Residents who don't care for traditional or houseboat, or even decorating. The ones that use their skyboxes every now and then or use it to change clothes. That would make a great deal more sense than leaving so many houses and boats empty. But in saying that it would also be a shame to see all that wooded landscaping that we saw in the SL16B camper exhibition go to waste because the majority are in their skyboxes up in the sky. It's all speculation at this point. Apples/Oranges, etc etc. 😐
  14. Update: Just caught (and released) a traditional house at 6:53 p.m. AEST. So for my southern hemisphere friends, don't lose hope. It's possible! (Also whoever gets that house, I hope you enjoy it! Nice green corner block )
  15. Disclaimer: I'm NOT one of the "oldies", my main account is almost 9, but I just read this entire topic and a lot of this I actually remember. I forgot about the money trees for one thing; that was an Aha! moment! I've been trying to think of my earliest memory. I remember spending a LOT of time at Kuula NCI playing hangman or watching people line dance in front of the free vendors, and just being blown away by the long-term residents that were there offering advice to us noobs. I remember taking a free pea-pod ride around some of the Linden roads that cut through that area. Raiding the freebies tables near the NCI sandboxes. Running around sometimes literally for hours trying to "catch" free coins so that I could afford purchases on the MP (I tried the fishing, I just couldn't get the hang of it), and how some purchases took me to a page on X-street that wasn't available anymore. I also remember tinting feet (or shoes with toes really) to match the rest of my skin as was mentioned, and that whole Bloodlines thing. I'm sure there's plenty more but that's what I remember right now. Thanks @Chic Aeonfor starting this topic. It's actually been great to look back. I also agree with the general sentiment that the whole community feels to have changed over the years. Even some of my friends who are a lot older than me say the same thing. It's sad and a bit bittersweet to remember how tight-knit things felt, especially in the RP communities. I truly do miss those days and doubt they will ever return. Never mind. Is still great to have experienced even the tapering end of it's 'heyday' than to never known it at all.
  16. I think the Lindens and Moles have to be careful about just how much community space is given; look at the landing strips for air craft and rez areas for vehicles and boats. I keep going back to it but it's a relevant point IMHO. Yes, they were put in for residents' benefit, but for those who don't drive or fly or sail they're irrelevant. The same can be said for other constructions we would ask of them. No doubt there are a large number of people who may find such places to be beneficial, but equally just as many who won't. Bellisseria was designed to be a place for people to live, first and foremost. Yes having the extras places are great, but not I think part of the overall plan. And there are already a lot of places dotted around the new continent for people to meet, relax or socialize regardless their abilities. Failing that, people can meet on a rotational basis in their collective houses, something that happens in many social circles in the real world anyway. The danger is making Bellisseria so complete that people don't ever leave it. Or rather, it detracts away from the possibility still available on mainland or private regions. As much as we all share our love for the new continent, and love all the hard work that the Lindens and Moles are still churning out, the spaces outside the houses that they provide for us don't really provide for them. Meaning that praise is great, but there still has to be a profit made somewhere along the line in order to keep the Lindens and Moles in their RL jobs. While residents paying for Premium membership offers one means, the sale and acquiring of mainland is another. There's nothing stopping Residents from renting a parcel on the mainland and having people meet in Bellisseria then teleport over to the parcel. Sure, it's not as immersive as if it could be but it's still a viable option.
  17. But then doesn't Bellisseria run the risk of becoming Bay City 2.0? (Great pic btw. I really need to visit BC again, it's been too long!)
  18. How many Moles (and Lindens) are working on this project anyway? I'd assume there'd be a lot. That's a lot of shacks. So instead of shacks, maybe name different areas; A Mole's park, B Mole's campground, C Mole's beach... Though whether it was a shack or landmark I'd think just keeping track of which Mole has been immortalised where might be added work yet again for the already overworked Moles. It wouldn't do to have several landmarks dedicated to one - others may scream nepotism. Despite all that would be GREAT to have the Moles and Lindens recognised in some way beyond just thanking them in a forum topic, or the groups in world and their associated merchandise. I suppose the issue would likely be prim allocation. Since each region is really geared towards Residents usage, rez zones, and landscaping, even giving Moles say 20 prims each to add their own flair may be seen by their bosses as an abuse of resources. It doesn't sound like much but when they're the ones number crunching, makes sense (and yes I know that's likely why you suggested shacks as opposed to anything else, I'm just running off on a tangent. I do that sometimes. Often. Frequently.) Here's a thought that's possible: How about having the Moles and Lindens construct something that they think is a fitting tribute to themselves that can be set on permanent display in a Bellisseria museum/gallery? There's been talk of faux stores or community places for a while now, why not something like that? The only draw back may be the fact that some Moles and Lindens probably feel better at scripting than building, but it wouldn't have to be a sculpture or even a replica of them. At times they've shown wit and humour, so we could find them creating funny paintings, sayings, or other things that could be put on display. THAT is something I'd love to see, and could be a feature of Bellisseria forever!
  19. That would be good! I actually think its sweet; a little recognition after all the stress would be a little sweetener, to live on as it were, for future prosperity. I wonder though if that wouldn't kind of encourage dissonance between Moles? "See that fantastic hut over there?" "Yeah, that's A Mole's hut! Everyone loves A Mole!" "Yeah, what about that little shack over there? Almost looks like it was the shack that time forgot." "Oh that's B Mole's shack. No one knows B Mole. A Mole is where it's at!" Poor B Mole... (Disclaimer: No Moles were harmed in the making of this post. Any resemblance to real Moles, dead or alive, or other real-life entities, past or present, is purely coincidental.)
  20. You have to wait, just like everyone else. And you won't get to choose what region you want to live on, as in, you don't get to pick your ideal location. If and when Fofita is released you'll have the same odds of scoring a place just like everyone else who tries to get one. All of the newer homes have been snatched up for now so unless someone who has one abandons you're not going to have the option of getting one just yet. Wait for releases, and keep an eye on the forums (again, just like everyone else). I suggest reading Patch's stickied thread here: There's talk of a bigger release in the next month/few months but may include the release of campers and trailers at that point, so given it's not the region you specified it probably won't be of interest to you. But until then apparently there will be semi-regular and smaller releases of regions on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays - with no exact time on those days. You just have to be vigilant, keep clicking the refresh button, and wait... just like everyone else. Meanwhile a traditional house just popped up not that long ago, around 9:30am AEST.
  21. Done and done! Just point me in the right direction and I'll let you all live in peace (except Momoa Mole), but am trying desperately to keep this topic from being my last before I get booted for generally being... me. But just in case; Bellisseria equivalent to Zindra perhaps? 😏🤣🤫
  22. Go back to Momoa pickle! Ooooor better yet... Momoa on a... rope? (Also we need a Momoa Mole to distract us while the others work. Win-win! XD)
  23. I think people need to remember that each of us are here to voice our opinions, even if we tend to disagree with others. Complaining about people complaining isn't helpful. There are better ways to communicate. Maturity means taking the higher road even if someone else doesn't. If you're still waiting for a house; try and be patient a little longer. It's frustrating but you will get one eventually. It just won't happen when you want it because you want it. If you already have a house and all your alts have one too, that's your right. But a little compassion would go a long way. This isn't a competition. People need to take a breath and calm down. We're all here to have fun, or supposed to be. Be right or be happy, but negativity breeds negativity either way.
