  1. Have seen a bunch of traditional houses tonight, maybe four or five. Most recently about ten minutes ago maybe less. That might have been yours @Leora Jacobus?
  2. And sent! Hopefully I sent it to the right person but if you didn't get it let me know. 😊 (Apologies for going a little off topic but still kind of relevant?)
  3. Off topic: I'm not sure what the necessity is to cast judgement on anyone here whether people happily own a house, are still waiting to get one, or are repeatedly refreshing. It's already been established that as paying premium members everyone has equal rights to decide what is best for them. This has been going on for months and it's all been said before. For those who wish to vent on not yet having a home there's a thread specifically for that. For those who wish to vent about all of us who "hop" from house to house, perhaps someone should make a thread specifically for that instead of hijacking this thread since the topic is "when did you last see a bellisserian home" not "what are the opinions of those who abandon homes?" It's terribly disheartening to see the excitement of some people being suppressed by others who don't for whatever reason agree. On topic: I hadn't been refreshing anywhere near as regularly as I had been but today decided to have another look. Low and behold I managed to catch two abandons; one in Axim, and one in Stine. The one in Axim I abandoned and immediately caught it back again. I let it go for the second time, waited a while, refreshed again and caught the one in Stine - which was located right next door to the first house I ever had in Bellisseria (and I was there for a good 2 or 3 months before I started hopping). This was about 3 hours ago. I haven't seen one since.
  4. ^ I pretty much agree with this. My LOD is kept at 2 so I build to that. I can't control what others do or what settings they have and I'd certainly go mad trying to accommodate for all, so I see 2 as a good middle ground in my personal opinion. I'm also conscious of what my neighbours see or those passing by since there is a steady stream of traffic in the region I live, but I don't really think about those flying overhead; it's more the ground or water travelers I'm considering. It doesn't do well to cam around and see jagged triangles everywhere, especially when bumping up DD or LOD can be a laggy or crashy exercise. Internal walls or even outside decor (providing it's not too obvious) aren't as big an issue as I doubt people are generally looking inside from too far away, but again as a general rule of thumb I stick to a LOD of 2 just in case. Of course it's also a matter of weighing up LOD and LI too since higher LOD's tend to be heavier LI. When I buy items I'm conscious of the LI as well as the LOD, so if I personally think something is "too heavy" in prims but is really cheap I still won't buy it. I'd rather spend extra to have the extra prims and a reasonable LOD. Not everyone would. It's trying to strike a balance I'm happy to live with and something I think my neighbours could tolerate too. These are as far as I can cam out with my extensions before they crumble (wrap-around porch, top patio half-roof, brick entertainment area fence, fire pit). ^ LOD 1.25, DD 160 ^ LOD 2, DD 160 The wrap-around porch holds steady as it is the largest so the last to crumble. The top patio half-roof and side brick fence crumble first. While I don't like the fact any of it crumbles I think ensuring the largest section (the wrap-around porch) is seen from a reasonable distance is more important. As people we don't generally have the ability to see 300 meters ahead of us in clear detail, so I take that approach to builds. Maybe not everyone agrees. Reasonable is subjective and a matter of personal opinion I suppose. For the record one of my neighbours have that same (or very similar) pergola you mentioned in your OP (you can see it right there above the orange tree middle/bottom of the pictures). The LOD is pretty shoddy. But to be honest I don't often cam out from afar looking in. From my home and yard see no issue. It would be different if I were flying overhead or looking over from the beach or pool perhaps. Honestly though I don't think everyone really cares about what others see, just what they themselves can see. 🤔 Forgot to add that I also agree that if you like your pergolas you should keep them. It's all about what you can live with or think is acceptable after all.
  5. One I built. The one in those pics has the bathroom floor and shower recess built in so it's all one mesh. It's not perfect by any means and not scripted which means I have to drag/drop the Linden wall textures included in the creator pack to change them, and its not officially for sale, but if you would like a copy let me know. If not that's okay too.
  6. People might not want to compete, some do. It's called freedom of choice. Some people don't wish to be forced to stay in a property they don't like either.
  7. I haven't seen a house boat or house for three days... because I haven't been looking! *gasp! Shocking I know! Thought I'd take a break and step back for a while and let others grab something. But prior to that movement has seemed slow; people are abandoning less it seems. I could be wrong about that. 🤔 ^ Exactly this. Also remember to wait at least a minute between the time you first open the page to when you start your Auto Refresh tool or you will reach your limit early.
  8. Pretty much what was said before me. I'm the alt that since became the main and I steal the others' lindens while they gather dust. Three are premium (including this account), a couple aren't. They don't donate land or anything like that. Rae has a Linden House, an alt is the one rolling for that perfect isolated beach spot away from house boats on the new continent. The other literally does nothing beyond accumulate linden for me to pillage. All the premiums have had make-overs, the alts haven't, again for reasons described above.
  9. Yes, bumping. But saw this hair just now and thought someone here or looking for similar might find it useful.
  10. You're most welcome. As promised, here's the SSP thread: https://community.secondlife.com/forums/topic/426577-ssp/ And here's an unofficial help thread: https://community.secondlife.com/forums/topic/441469-help-and-info-to-get-a-new-linden-home-or-try-to/ Good luck! 😁 👍
  11. I resize mine using GIMP to 1024 at the highest dimension or less. I check image properties to make sure file size is 1MB or less each, and make sure my file is saved/exported as a .png. That's all I do.
  12. Your account dashboard is where you look for a Linden House. SSP is another thread here on the land forums. I can't link you to it right now as I'm on the phone (and not that tech-savvy) but if you search for 'SSP?' you will find it. If not I'll add link when I get back to my computer later this afternoon. One more thing; if you're completely new to this process of trying to find yourself a new Linden Home, there's another thread in the land forums I wrote and includes information to get you started, as well as help from other people. Again, I can't link right now but if you search 'How to get a new Linden Home (or try to!)' (or something like that) you should find it. There's answers to some common questions too as well as the link to SSP? and others that are helpful.
  13. Sorry about that. I always have mine enabled and forget sometimes that it's not by default. Glad you're able to get some kind of resolution at least. 😊
  14. Spotted a house boat about 20 minutes ago. And Congrats, @Vana Gears! 👍😁🎈
  15. That's handy to know. I rarely (if ever) use the default SL viewer now, but on the rare occasion I do I just use the steps above and it's always worked for me. I can honestly say I've rarely felt much lag from a LOD of 2, but I often feel a drastic change at 4 or above to the point my FPS staggers in the red or I crash. That's an all too common occurrence (which is why I usually only ever raise LOD temporarily for photos if needed, but keep game play at 2 or below). But this info is good to know, thanks @ChinRey and @Kyrah Abattoir - Even after all these years I'm still learning new things! As per what @Profaitchikenz Haiku mentioned for TPV, this is how you change LOD for the current build of the Firestorm Viewer (6.2.4.5.7588):
  16. While I agree that creators need to raise their game that doesn't detract from the fact that many don't, and doesn't help those who want to use items that they already own that aren't LOD friendly. So to answer the OP, this is what I do. Be aware keeping it at 4.000 or above will likely lag your game and/or cause instability issues. So I don't recommend you keep it at 4 unless you really, really have to.
  17. Releasing THIS Traditional in Limevale in around 10 mins (or half past the hour). Nice street, close to river. Can just see water from front/side yard. EDIT: And released! Really is a lovely area, just still not where I want to be. Always close, not close enough. Never mind, someone will enjoy it! 👍
  18. @kiramanell - This made me think of you! (... wait, wait... nope, that came out all wrong) 🤣 But still better than the farce also known as the Australian Government. 🤬
