  1. Good luck and prosperity in the incoming Year of the Tiger. 新年快乐. And so... today I will be tiger-plushie-fied all around.
  2. Hm. All of the steps, you say. Let me just ask, how many "Current Outfit" folders do you have in inventory?
  3. Please take a look at this article and follow it step by step.
  4. Tonight I was pestering people with my presence during the BBB 2nd Anniversary Celebration formal ball.
  5. Today my avatar looks like a cookie monster lurking from the shadows. ~ Just a quick lighting test in a darkroom for my furry face. From below, from behind, from the side and from the above/front.
  6. In my old laptop I've had a mediocre CPU and a HDD. Everything worked mostly all right, but I wanted to modernize my machine and I replaced the HDD with an SSD. Sadly, the computer slowed down because CPU and memory, not designed to fast data rates that SSD provided, were overheating regularly and as a result it was a downgrade. Until I replaced the CPU and added more memory, reapplied better thermal paste as well. I may be wrong, but I understand that the published Linden news is similar in its nature. Improvements were made to the simulator and scripts should work better, faster, but that means that HTTP throttling may occur sooner as well. Creators that planned/relied on sims/requests running slow may see their scripts hitting the limits quicker (or hitting them at all). They may want to upgrade them to work more reliably and not shoot requests/replies from hosts as fast as possible, or in a five seconds timer loop. News article suggest that it's not limited to HTTP, other areas of LSL may get this as well - like sound generation, giving inventory, rezzing objects etc. Also,
  7. You may want to try the "package" argument - a regular installer will be made after the compilation process. For example: If you're on Windows you'd need to have NSIS installed as per instructions.
  8. You can make someone smile with a weapon, too. Have you ever tried to use a sword as a fork? ~ It can also be a collector's item, if it is a no-copy one, rare/special issue or no more created due to the creator's decision or vanishing from Second Life (vintage?).
  9. It's always Autumn somewhere. ~ A small pause from my winter themed outfit - swapped to "default" for the time being.
  10. I would prefer to not be remembered. I like to work from the shadows, do what needs to be done in order to make things better and not be recognized. Keeping it like this would be perfect.
  11. I'll just paste a small piece of Benefits code that is sitting in all viewers for a relatively long amount of time, disabled, and which was - at the moment of implementation, it can change when the feature will become public - defining Premium Plus differences; Between the Premium (regular and Plus) or basic accounts. No more, no less. https://bitbucket.org/lindenlab/viewer/src/0a873cd95547f003878c6d00d0883ff792f4a865/indra/newview/llagentbenefits.cpp#lines-29 Attached Animesh objects limit, costs of asset uploading, group creation cost; Picks, group slots and overall attachments limits. All of these options can be changed or removed, new benefits can be added as well - including ones that are not directly "seen" by a viewer inworld. Personally, I would pay close attention to all kind of meetings with the Lab: web user group, third party viewers developers or simulator/server ones. Facial/webcam recognition system... I personally can't shake off the memory of the cancelled Leap Motion implementation that was done years ago, but I'm positive; We'll see what the Lab will cook and how they will integrate that with the existing animation system.
  12. I believe that this blog post may be useful: https://modemworld.me/2019/10/03/october-2019-web-user-group-name-changes-and-new-premium-option/ - in short, premium plus would sit above current premium level, with few more benefits.
  13. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, David! ❤️ And for everyone else, just to add to the topic: If someone would miss fetched message of the day on the teleport/login screen or was not able to finish reading, there is an option in the menu, in Content, to just show it in chat again. Splash screen... "What's hot now", "Destinations" and "Events" are utilizing the official widgets available here: http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Linden_Lab_Official:Viewer_Web_Widgets - why accordions then, or "drop downs", that "hide" stuff? Because not everyone has a 4k monitor and thanks to them even people on old laptops can see the content, if they want to, that is not squeezed all around the place. ~ And as a bonus, The "Linden Lab Blog" section is pulled directly from the RSS of this category, so no rocket science either, all data is there:
  14. See https://status.secondlifegrid.net/incidents/tq208zdrp3nm
  15. The linked JIRA bug report tells you exactly what you should do: Please go to the https://support.secondlife.com/ and log in with your usual credentials, then "choose from either Submitting a Support Case, Live Chat or Phone Support depending on your account type." Ask the support to remove the extra "Current Outfit" folders and leave only one of them. For example: https://lindenlab.freshdesk.com/support/tickets/new
  16. Not exactly a web page controlled by the Lab, but I'd call Inara a credible source: https://modemworld.me/2018/09/20/second-life-switches-to-stella-connect-for-support-feedback/ - it is worth to note that this article from 2018 mentions the "secondlife-at-stellaconnect.net" domain.
  17. In my case it would be Asterix and Obelix. I feel sorry for the kidnappers already. And if cartoons do not count... It would be Kevin from Home Alone. Resourceful little kid, I'm pretty sure that he will save me with a bucket of bolts, glue and an electric heater.
  18. It does seem that the Secret Santa has already visited my small place and left me a blue visor thingy. ~ Which I'm very grateful for, as I plan to create a simple TRON-inspired / cyber shiny glowing outfit and this will be a prominent part of it. Thank you! ^^ And thank you to @Catrie as well. ~
  19. It looks like https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/BUG-231454 - if you have more than one "Current Outfit" folder then please contact Second Life support and describe your case.
  20. If the advertising is true and every tenant has their own parcel, then this... ... does not apply and the usual SL grid systems are in place - "do not see avatars on other parcels and do not let avatars on other parcels see avatars on this parcel". Therefore, it's not magic and as long as you're outside the parcel you won't see anyone that is inside it. As for your previous post where you are within the same parcel as other avatars - just pull up the draw distance to 1024m for a single minute, not longer, and share your experiences.
  21. Restricting (or expanding) radar range to 4096m is not the same thing as setting up draw distance to that value (or just 1024m; which is definitely not advised to do anyway). Everyone within the draw distance is shown in bold font on your radar (the "distance" column, to be exact).
