  1. Peeve: LSL changes that have borked The Arcade's whole system. At least that's what The Arcade's people are blaming it on. The tl;dr is that these changes made it so everyone who sets foot in The Arcade gets the same pulls/numbers, so there's no ability to use alts, unless it's clothing and another body is involved. I only wanted 2-3 things and was trying to help a friend get a rare, but we're SOL until they get this fixed.
  2. It may be that they're using a face deformer. Warm Animations has a deformer that will do different things to the eyes (and face).
  3. Peeve: Why are demos the LAST thing to rez at events? I've lost count of how many times I've had to TP out and back in to get demos to show up. Why does this happen? What's so unusual about demos that they don't want to render on first approach?
  4. Ison has updated several items to X: Mattie long sweater dress, Mallen leggings, and matching socks. The redelivery terminal will send the updated fits if you have already purchased these items. If you haven't, the fatpack of socks and the warm tone packs are 100L while the other colors and fatpacks are 50% off. It's like Christmas when Harry updates things to X that I've already purchased! Baiastice has the cutest sweatshirt up for Happy Weekend, with plush bears in the hood (can be turned off) and matching jeans for X and a matching plush bear handbag. Truth has a new casual dress out too for 100L per color pack. I spent more than I planned on spending this weekend, even though these were all sale items.
  5. I understand it's not what you're looking for, but when I pay for an item (as opposed to group gifts and freebies), I always change the name of the folder to include the date of purchase (i.e. 2.21.24), so I don't have to go into properties to see the date acquired. My inventory is also sorted by year acquired, so if I buy a sofa in 2024, it's going to go in the 2024 furniture folder. I did not do this until about 5 years into my time in SL, so it was a beeyutch to sort my inventory. As time and technology passes, I will shift older stuff that I don't really use but don't want to trash into a folders labeled something like "Furniture 2018 and older."
  6. For those who are into Spectacledchic's aesthetic but have passed on by them because there's no LaraX on the vendor, this outfit at Kustom9 fits LaraX despite the vendor only saying fits for Lara and Legacy. I took the demo just for funsies, and it fits! I've tested it against my AO and some dances, and so far the mesh hasn't broken. My avatar is relatively slender though. I'm not sure if this applies to all of Spectacledchic's most recent releases, but it's worth a look. Alas, I'm on a self-imposed budget shakedown, so I can't afford it right now.
  7. I haven't tested it with more than one hair, so I can't say one way or another.
  8. This is the SupremeUHD head using one of the accompanying skins. I think I'd want a lip corrector because I don't like the slightly open-mouthed look. I also don't like the UHD lipsticks that come in the HUD (second photo). Those make my lips look so wrinkly! The lashes have really rough ends on them, and I tried all of the different HUD settings. One of the eyeshadows included is absolutely gorgeous though (third photo).
  9. I decided to buy the new head at the discount price. This is using the EvoX head with the Boataom skin that was given away in December. I used a few Izzie's corrections on it. Surprisingly, the shape and eyebrow base that came with the new head needed no adjustments for the Boataom skin, Even though it's the EvoX head, I expected that I'd need to do some tinkering. I WILL do tinkering, just not tonight. In general, I don't do reaction animations because I'm too lazy to click on things. Very few people look at other people's faces anyway. The sweat and tears are neat, but they will clash with alpha layers, like in this Doux hair. The bit with the mouth opening slightly even without animations turned on is a tad annoying. I may go back to Lel Noel, but I'll wear this one for a few days to decide if it's me.
  10. I'm an introvert, always have been, in both worlds. When I get out of nowhere friend requests, I turn them down because I don't know why they sent it. I always wonder what the motivation was for them to do that when we've barely spoken 10 words to each other. It's not like I can ask randos what their motivation is and expect truthful answers. I do accept and send friend requests when I've gotten to know people over a period of time. I hang out at one club on weekends, and I've gotten to know the people there enough to talk about my real life with them and vice versa, so we became friends. That's the way it's worked since I joined in 2008. Hang out somewhere. Talk in local or voice when applicable. Don't be a gesturbator (i.e. allowing your collection of gestures to communicate for you).
  11. Yeah, nine times out of 10, vendor ads for non-hair stores have photoshopped hair.
  12. Your friend is giving you some half-baked information. I absolutely DESPISE the Kardiashian asthetic, and I managed to make my shape very slim, including the bum. It requires some different usage of the shape sliders, and the most recent LaraX update includes a butt deformer to make it smaller. I now cannot put my 5.3 back on without seeing the linebacker shoulders, even though I still have some favorite outfits that are only rigged for 5.3.
  13. I only had a static IP with my internet provider when I had a business account (at a higher cost). When I canceled the business account and went back to personal, I went back to a dynamic IP. As often as my router and modem need rebooting, snoops would have a lot of work to do to keep up with my IP, and I'm NOT that interesting. Besides, if anyone wants to visit me, they'll have to get past 3 loud, bitey dogs and a slightly less bitey fiance who loves guns. The cats are ambivalent. Now if a person is dumb enough to give out their cell phone number to strangers, there's an amazing amount of information that can be obtained if one is willing to fork out some cash. I was talking to a person online whom I didn't quite trust for a while, and by the time I finished my background check on him (this was over 15 years ago), I even knew where his parents lived and that he had a pending lawsuit against him from his HOA. I even found out where he went to church the whole time he was cheating on his wife. I didn't use any of the information I found against him though. Karma caught up to him eventually.
  14. Raven Bell might have something like that.
  15. I saw quite a few Senra gifts at Shop & Hop, some for male avatars too. I didn't really look to see if there were discounted Senra items though. One of the cuter gifts was a colorful sweater/denim skirt/sneaker set from a new brand from Blue Moon Enterprises (BMe) called Zue that also has a LaraX fit.
  16. Fameshed has plenty of LaraX goodies today. I only picked up the new Just Because dress and kitten heels. Head's up: If you have a fidgety AO with lots of arm bends, the mesh will break at the shoulders, but it's still cute. The purse is from Cupid's Fault (it purrs, wags its tail, and flicks its ears). I'm a sucker for that kind of shiz. It is unrigged, of course.
  17. There are a fair number of LaraX gifts at Shop & Hop. I actually found a few keepers. The Bold Llama has now started offering LaraX rigging with her gift for those of us who need snarky tank tops. If you use Fabfree's Shop & Hop spreadsheet, please note that some items are marked for LaraX, but some items are available in LaraX but not labeled as such on the spreadsheet. Son!a Edge at Shop & Hop has some really pretty jewelry rigged for LaraX at a discount too. Most of the sales items for the clothing stores are pre-LaraX though. Sorry there are no photos. Too exhausted from boss moving goalposts at work.
  18. Peeve: Unzipped/unbuttoned pants and shorts in SL. When is this fad going to die? Why is it a fad in the first place? I have so many questions.
  19. I tried it for about 5 minutes 15 years ago and thought it was lame, logged out, and never went back.
  20. Izzie's has a lot of freckle/mole/blemish products for EvoX. I'd suggest going there first.
