Can't spell = cannot find .. Please help?
Garnet Psaltery replied to Laoise Rumsford's topic in Favorite Destinations
I found a Flickr image of Annaliese, but checking the location it's sadly true that the region has vanished. -
premium premium membership is it worth it?
Garnet Psaltery replied to Alexa Dallas's topic in General Discussion Forum
I've had Premium membership since my arrival in 2005. I ran through the scary Welcome Area and went immediately to buy First Land (formerly provided special empty mainland 512s for newbies). I've enjoyed the stipend and most other perks ever since. Downgrading is unthinkable. -

Full region to rent at L$14,200 per week

The region is now rented. -
Can we buy more prim limit without moving out (mainland)?
Garnet Psaltery replied to JessieHoo's topic in General Discussion
There's no way to increase prims on the Mainland except by buying more land, so unless a neighbour moves out or sells you some land, you're limited to what you currently have. -
Please help me understand land purchases
Garnet Psaltery replied to GiaMarlow's topic in General Discussion
I'd point you to the official Linden Lab article on Private Regions* which includes this statement "qualified educators and non-profits are allowed to order a Homestead Region without owning a standard Private Region, unlike regular Residents." I have no idea what checks LL make on people buying a homestead without owning a full region, but it seems risky to try. Your choice. You don't need a premium account to buy land on an Estate, though you must have payment info on file, just on the Mainland. Drawbacks? LL offer a set list of prices for different kinds of Regions, whereas private sales depend very much on the current market, the mood of the seller, and possibly how close they are to their next tier payment. The actual selling/buying process is usually safe as it goes through LL - do not buy outside of their service, such as paying MrShonkyAvatar directly to his account or via Paypal or whatever. The way to do it is to raise a support ticket - the article below tells you exactly how. * -
When you get the Select box at the bottom of the window for choosing the duration of a ban enter 0 (zero). This creates a permanent ban.

I haven't got any adult furniture so that doesn't apply. I just am buggered if I'm going to let Tom Dick and Harriet Cadger invade my bought space.

I loved the Montalbano series. This song from one episode is full of raw and genuine emotion.

I've just cleared up a minor griefing on estate land for rental. This person, I suspect, is going round doing the same thing where he can find it. He saw my land for purchase at L$1 and took advantage by trashing the landscape, changing the parcel name to nonsense, and then abandoning the land. Of course, it was left off the market. I've since readvertised at L$100 - lesson learned - but thought you might appreciate a warning, especially if you have a lot of parcels up at L$1.

I'm cleaning up an inconvenience caused by a not-very-bright griefer (not worth bothering Governance with it). It wasn't hard to follow a trail to his RL person, and I told him so, but fortunately I'm not the sort of person to take advantage of that. -

Does anyone else think that "Your avatar is waiting for you" is a bit scary? -
It is still quite hard to connect the parcels in Edit if they're distant. You need a long drawing distance and a steady hand. It just occurred to me though that the animals might try to wander across other parcels. Without knowing how their scripts work I can't be sure, but I suspect they might end up in a heap while encountering the parcel border.

Oh, that's a shame. Is it because the parcels are far apart?

Changing the group land is deeded to
Garnet Psaltery replied to Venetia Cazalet's topic in General Discussion
It worked just now when I tried it on behalf of someone asking in another thread. -
Follow his instructions where he says " e) Left Click on ground again and hold it this time. Then drag your mouse, until your yellow square line enter the second parcel. f) Stop holding the mouse , just let it and a new menu pops up! There you can see now a "JOIN" button is highlighted and if you click it the 2 parcels will be one! The result will be one parcel with the sum of meters and prims of the two parcels."

Secondlife declining player base

You could start a trend - frozen weddings! Everyone dresses up and stands still for half an hour. They can still chat and make vows, and there's plenty of time to take nice pictures -
Estate Manager rights. Terraforming, terrain texturing, windlight setting, banning, etc. Take an Info card from the rental box in the NE corner and read it. Buy the land then pay rent. The lake and mountain in the photo are just to show the terraforming range and look a bit less boring in the ad. I'll nuke them for you if you like.
