  1. Yeah I know it can be done and I would like to see or at least hear about the idea OP has in mind. It would be great if, instead of real life photos, they used SL porn photos.
  2. I am curious how you imagine turning porn into art?
  3. I used gimp ages ago but even after transferring to PS I kept getting back to gimp for one reason and this was to cut out hair from the background. The photo I attached (it is from 2013. so excuse the outdated look) was taken against the plain studio background and I have cut out the hair using the feature named "color to alpha". Removing the bg in this way leaves the hair as it looks in-world. This works best with black hair and white background, but I managed to get nice results with other colors too. Here is the link that explains everything but also feel free to look up YouTube for some tutorials. https://docs.gimp.org/2.8/en/plug-in-colortoalpha.html
  4. I can imagine the positive side of this situation. Creators who sell full perm items concentrate on their in-world shops (we need to see it in-world anyway) and the MP serves as some sort of list where you can search for full perm mesh...
  5. You can submit a JIRA and explain the idea in more detail. It's a good idea! Right now we are able to sell limited numbers of items on the Marketplace but it would help if for example we could have reviews on the info section of merchants profiles. Something like TOS. And this would also help the huge number of people who sell their gacha items because if they had few reviews that say the sales went okay people wouldn't be afraid to buy gachas from the MP. I never know which seller is okay so I don't even check them on the MP.
  6. Still, I am not sure is it better to have more than 1 store under the same user account or is it better to have them separated? Someone said it's not okay to buy multiple animations or some other "resources"... I always say to myself and it should apply to all of us; If my sales can't pay off the investments I made then I am not a good seller and I should do something else. For in-world purposes, I would prefer to have it all separated and for MP I can't say because I don't have many items there. Also, someone said that it's good to show the customers that you sell clothing and shoes and furniture.. yes it is a certain benefit but it is also annoyance. If I search for trees it is because I need to buy trees and if someone is trying to offer me a skirt while I am searching for trees I won't like it. When it comes to sorting items in appropriate categories and hoping customers will understand they are supposed to type related keywords in the search field and click on the category, maybe even modify the price range and the permissions or prims... I know that is too many clicks for an average customer. If they need to click many times in order to buy something, they will give up or be distracted with something else. We (merchants) need to make sure that they click at least possible times (did I say this good?). There is one big benefit for having all separated and that I have no idea how to explain in English but it has to do with risks. It is not wise to have all your "stuff" under one account or one name or anything one. In order to play smart and be safe, we are supposed to divide the risks. There are many random glitches and I wouldn't want to login and see that half of my inventory is gone missing and having to wait for the bug to be fixed or customer support to solve my problem. I believe, if some random bug happened to one of my accounts, I wouldn't be irritated if I had others to play with. Or if someone hacked one account, they couldn't get all my stuff! I was thinking about branding and marketing and it would actually help to have more than one brand because it helps if your brand is connected to other brands, for example you can always use the "about" section to display links to your other venues. I used to do marketing for more than one store and it is better to have all brands separated because when you work on one brand, you will connect that brand with other, related brands and it will fit together. But if you have one brand that sells more than one category it is more likely to feel like it doesn't fit together. For in-world groups and events, your goal is to be a member of the groups that are directly related to your current interests so it's better to have that divided. The bad side of having more than one brand is the fact that, while you work on one brand you can't work on another and if you consider the fact that some basic marketing means you are supposed to not only create profiles on social media but also work on them as often as you can to reach your customer base, it becomes rather hard to do it all by yourself and it is not an easy task to find a good manager who knows what to do. The most important thing to consider is what makes you happy? For me is decorations and style. It is important to keep it fresh and interesting and having more than one brand/store/building/parcel would offer me the opportunity to express myself in many different ways. It would also mean that while I work on one store the other would be neglected so yeah... I'm still not sure!
  7. Few days ago someone contacted me saying they can do my vendor ads. It's 1.5 k per photo and the guy makes pretty awesome images! I can forward you his name and links to Facebook and Flickr, if you are interested please message me here or in-world. I am never sure is it okay to post infos here and don't want to break any rules. And if you decide to look for some more, please always chose a photographer who can show you examples of the vendor photos he/she did. It will save you from headaches
  8. Yes I can understand this... contacting a merchant can be rather hard. Same as it's hard to find a comparable item, sometimes it is hard to find even one item that fits our ideas... and it is easier to learn and create an item than to find one to buy lol
  9. Ohh sorry, I didn't understand then... thanks for explaining! I thought everyone had that ? I have seen few merchants who simply prefer to sell directly from boxes with no scripts and they have every right to do so. This should be something we enjoy doing, not something that is imposed so if there are people who enjoy selling without vendors and scripts, and its legal, why not let them? I like the fact that anyone can become merchant, see how it works for them and later, if they decide to do it in more serious way, they can get a vendor system with redelivery.
  10. I agree that customers should have some way to ask for redelivery, besides contacting the merchant. I don't agree with the opinion that LL should have a grid-wide vendor system because it isn't good to have just one option. It never was, competition is good and we need more vendor systems. Each vendor system offers redelivery so, besides new shops who still didn't manage to decide which vendor they should chose. What I would like to see is a certain way of keeping the Marketplace updated - for example to ask from merchants to login once a month and click a certain button to prove they are still active in SL. If they don't click this, their shop becomes inactive and there are no sales made. I am aware of the fact that the company gets a certain percentage of every sale therefore it's not in their interest to close any store, no matter is the owner active or not. It's just my daydreaming
  11. This thread is awesome! I could feel the anticipation and excitement lol
  12. You were probably exploring ? Mainland is great because of its diversity, it is like visiting historical buildings in RL.
  13. I was away from SL when they were introduced and I never really got in the situation to sit down and read more information about them (besides finding out only premium members can create them, which I am not) but from I've picked up and saw so far they are really not much big of a deal when it comes to harming your avatar or a person in any way. Instead of taking a pause every 5 minutes to read how a certain object needs my permission to animate my avatar, and clicking a button to give that permission, now I can visit the venue without these interruptions. There are probably more people like OP who simply dislike them (for any reason) and I want to believe that it is possible to write a polite notecard to the venue creator, explain the personal issue with the experience and ask is it possible to get access to the venue without using the experiences? I say I want to believe it's possible because I never tried it, but I feel I should give some kind of advice or support in this situation. When it comes to hunts, seeing people disagree to the way the hunts are organized, makes me believe they tried to cheat and failed so now they try to complain about some other aspect. I am not trying to say the OP is like this, just saying it happens often because I have been in many hunts as a hunter and as a creator and there are always tons of people who don't care about the venues or anything besides the hunt object.
  14. Blueberry Leah or Ace, I don't believe they have the sleeves looking as in the photo but the top is almost same. Also not sure if it's okay to post names?
  15. Okay I lost you here ? I was thinking you are complaining about Marketplace and the way it works. MP in general is not that relevant, actually if you try to chose 1 single venue or medium through which we can market and sell, it would probably be Facebook and few of the most popular in-world events. Everything else is relevant only as part of the whole marketing strategy that a merchant has.
  16. LOL I believe merchants would be happy to make customers read the product infos and then think about the refinement options. People chose mostly just by looking at photos and we have few moments to catch their attention. Do you mean we say this because of how the search functions or is there something else I am missing? I think SL is not much different from other markets but I don't work hard to make my business successful so I really have no idea is the search fair or not (I mean MP search). For example in my country it's really hard to start a business because of the corruption. There are several ways and channels funded by EU through which people can start a business but once they do, the bureaucracy kills their desire to live because there are sooooo many documents to collect. Often it happens that a person started their own business, worked few years and then they received a court order to pay some kind of a debt with giant interests, because some official gave them the wrong info when they were just starting out. For someone who comes from that kind of mess, SL market seems like heaven ?
  17. LOL I started to read and expected it to be that it's you who will have to kill me if you tell me ? Please whisper it in my PM's if itz's not a problem. Thank youu Could you also please write it in PM here? I would like to try with lucky chairs. Although the regular ones sound okay too ?
  18. Can I buy this?? Also, Formanails has some nice items in their lucky letter boards, you need to join groups to be able to play.
  19. Okay so what you can do is open the marketplace and in the search bar (it is at the top of the page, the field under the words "Keywords") paste this: cute sexy casual MESH and you will get exactly "7103 matching items found.". That is your starting point. From there you can try and modify your search results a bit more. So for example you could search for specific clothing type! Or maybe you want to sort your results to start with the most expensive items. You said you need some good clothing shops so it would be wise to start with the bigger prices but it is not guaranteed to get the quality only because the price is high. Same method should be applied to hairs... other than this I really have nooo idea how to help you because it seems to me that the majority of female clothing (except maybe formal and uniform) items can fit in your search. And I wanted to help you. The way you wrote the first post and the way you replied with "I did" to advice to narrow your search results makes me feel like you came here looking for a maid rather than getting some clothing suggestions? And the request not to be smarty pants? How about you not being lazy pants and go search yourself like all of us are?
  20. This is what I wanted to write lol, all those advertising/spam groups are just filled with people who post their own content and don't bother to look what is in the group. Not only in-world, this same thing happens on Facebook and Flickr, probably on other places too...
  21. Could you name some of the difficulties that gave you second thoughts? For a while now I am thinking about opening another store to sell something else but I didn't find the time.
  22. Yes that's annoying and I've done it too in my shop but I only made one of my items to be 1L$ and I believe that's fair. In my in-world shop I have more freebies but they are for people who are not lazy to teleport there ? I don't think it's okay to say "if you don't fix this I'm gone" and I am not with you on that one, also saying how all freebies are poorly made is not okay because there are many merchants who like to make nice freebies. What I like to think is that these items have some benefits; for new people who just created their accounts and spent maybe few dollars to buy lindens or didn't buy them at all, I remember my first few days in SL when I was running around and just collecting freebies and later unpacking them in sandboxes with other newbies, it was fun! So I believe that offering some kind of cheap things will maybe help to make people stay here long enough to make them find some interests and make them willing to spend more money. It would be good if for example we could place only 1 freebie in our shop, that would help in cleaning out the MP.
  23. What happened, my friend, is that you got old. Trends change, there is no right or wrong because everything IS right and wrong at the same time and you are either insider or an outsider. There are people out there who are outsiders by nature and they aren't concerned with trends or fitting in and there are also people who, when they realize the world has changed (while they did not) feel the need to complain about the good old times...
