  1. Some will say how group gifts are for items that aren't good enough to become a real vendor, IMO the quality of the group gift will show the quality of the brand. This is why the best ones usually have few thousand members in their groups or subscribers and why, when there is a new group gift in the store, the sim is full and you can't tp in. That's my goal, for my little shop
  2. I tried this to see how it will look like and got a bunch of reviews that look totally fake. And since they were all made in the same day that makes them look even worse lol Everyone knows how reviews are made and if we offer some kind of a reward people feel obligated to write everything best and that's instant fake!
  3. Yeah thats a great idea! But instead of waiting for this feature to show up in Marketplace I would try some kind of a workaround... if possible lol Contact your favorite merchants and suggest them to send a message through their subscriber or website or any other channel they use, when new products are added on the marketplace. Thats just one more opportunity for the merchants to advertise and I am sure they would use it. I will
  4. I had to laugh at this because I'm same, as a designer I participate in various events where we send our new releases through group notices. I have folders named "Blogger stuff pose fair 2014" and so on... all waiting to be unpacked. And concerning the purge... I was about to do mine and wanted to share few things I usually do, maybe it helps someone... When buying a new item I delete everything from the folder, leaving only the actual item I wear (ATM I wear Maitreya body so I delete items for other bodies), landmarks are obsolete because I can right click on most items, check the designers profile picks and teleport to their current location. For favorite designers I have subscriptions, group notices and their updates on Facebook/Flickr.. Every folder has a sub-folder named "!BOX" in which I put boxes of those items, in case I need to unpack them again at a later time (for example when switching bodies). Folders are named by the attachment point so for example I have !ACCESSORIES and inside are arms, body, head, neck. Also, I often add keywords to folder names, for example FP for full perm, write the color of the item and anything that will help me find it later. I will post a photo of my last cleanup (it was few years ago) when I created a huge folder named "MY STUFF" and sorted everything. I have another one called "NEW STUFF" with items that are not really clean, I just sorted them but I didn't delete the extra stuff and most of them I don't really know what they are until I try them on lol. Then I will probably delete most of the items from the old one, leaving only the boxes. So on the photo you can see that I am currently updating my shop, I have a special folder with everything concerning my photography work, at the top of My stuff folder are folders with things I have to check/sort and folders for the things that I work on them daily.
  5. It says: The transaction with the Marketplace failed with the following error: Reaon: "Not found" Let me just say that I have found 2 folders in my listings window: one was the old one called "aerial" that had the items inside, the other was "artis" without any items. I deleted this empty folder, renamed and activated the old one.
  6. First, THANK YOU! For the quick reply and for giving me hope lol Second, I have noo idea what you just wrote but I am going to research. I have the link to this pose in my emails, those that we get when the item sells. I have the transaction history too, will try to locate that number. Then I have to create a new folder, move my items inside and associate it with that number? Cindy Evanier thank you, I saw that thread few times but never read whats inside... I will take a look
  7. I was with some of my friends and wanted to show them what I do here so I went on google and searched for my best selling item, which is quickest way to open my MP shop. And I couldn't find it... Later I sat down and went to see whats going on... I had this pose, portrait gift pose, that was best selling item in my shop and for the last 2 years (more or less), it was on the first page of the posing animations category. That pose did half of my marketing, had many reviews and sold in, probably, more than 20000 copies. And I found it delisted, saying "No version folder". I logged in-world and checked my listings folder and the folder was empty but above that folder was an old one with another name. It seems like this specific pose has reverted and duplicated itself to few years back when my store had different name. I deleted it, renamed this old one and listed it again. But now my pose is starting from the beginning, has no reviews and is most likely buried deep down. Is there a way to revert my shop or this specific listing to the time this specific one was active? I have no idea when this happened, I searched through my email and the last time I got a notification about someone buying this pose was November 24th.
  8. I believe LL, as would everyone else if they tried to organize something, wants to chose merchants who have big shops, big customer groups, huge inventories, who have regular new releases, who most likely support their real life with SL income and who take this stuff seriously. If event organizer invites mostly smaller merchants, that would be more like a charity event because the organizer will have to work really hard in order to bring people to the event. If the event organizer invites big names (shops who have few thousand group members) and each of these merchants sends only one group notice, then the event organizer can relax because the event will, most likely, have good attendance. So the fact that LL has only/mostly big names in their event is objective, logical and, from economic view, nothing but a standard. I got sad when I saw how merchant who works hard and manages to get into this event feels the need to come here and explain herself...
  9. You need a person who is skilled in Photoshop. I advise you to give money only to someone who can prove they are, indeed, capable of doing this properly. Long time ago in Second Life there was a trend called "morph photography" where people would take a photo of the avatar and paste a real life face over it. Many have claimed they know how to do this but in reality these were some of the ugliest, creepiest and most shameful representations of Second Life's art scene. Take a look here to see some of these photos. So I'll repeat, don't pay in advance to anyone, if they can't show you an example photo that shows they have done this before and it turned out good! Good luck
  10. I can use SL Fb account to: Keep in touch with new shopping events that I could apply - seeing when they are accepting applications; see ads for new releases from designers that I follow or that I added as a friend; see WIP's for future releases; discuss about different things in groups or posts (actually I just sent a link to one photography group to someone here); see photos from my SL friends - how they decorated their new home, when they went sailing, their new dog (just naming random stuff but you get the point) advertise my SL business. Basically, if I am too busy in RL and can only afford to login and pay the rent once a week I can still know whats going on in-world. For a long time now, when I find an hour or two to play SL, first thing I do is login on Fb and check whats new, what looks interesting to visit/buy/do? Everything we have scattered on various sites, you can collect and have it in one place - your SL Fb.
  11. You all said some really good things. As I wrote earlier, my opinion is somewhat like Tari's, its a plus if we can use the negative review and turn it into something positive - show how we deal with the negativity, show that we do respond (even if its nonsense like my case where customer leaves a bad review on a freebie item that by default can't fit everyone. And I BET she has one of those dinosaurs shapes with tiny little arms and over-sized legs, head being smaller than half of her left boob lol). Something else got me to leave reviews; lately I've been buying more on eBay than SL and it gets on my nervs seeing merchants send me emails with 100 warnings about not giving them a negative review, not opening a case and rather sending personal email. Feels like begging.
  12. Its okay no need to apologize, this is one of the reasons I like to come here, because there is always some good soul willing to help ♥ Thanks!
  13. Some people contacted me by IMs and I thank them for it but... I would like to skip the usual "hello are you here, do you need the script, I can make it..." I need the script to be made; will pay for it; would appreciate if you can give me an estimate of the total price, time frame in which you plan make it, all the usual details you give...; would be nice if I can know (somehow) you already did some custom scripts and are not new in this; I would have nothing against if someone offered me a MP link so I can just buy the product that does this (if there is one); my contact details are in my profile, feel free to use it and contact me there. Its much better because I am not often online, IMs get lost, I reply through emails but I don't check them all the time so most likely, by the time I reply, you are already offline... So please, don't hesitate to be straight, just write your terms and we'll go from there. You can write here too! UPDATE: I found my scripter Thanks everyone who messaged me!
  14. I want to rezz furniture and allow everyone to move it around but within the certain range. I am the owner of everything, furniture will be copy and mod. Basically need a script that I can insert inside the furniture and maybe another object that will act as a "parent" or some kind of reference for counting how far from that object the furniture can be moved. Help please
  15. I try to keep them separate because of the (trying to find an English term lol).. time management? Somewhere along the line I've decided that everything I do in SL will be for hobby and everything I do in RL will be "for real", serious stuff or whatever you want to call it. So if I am working on something in RL, I don't want SL to distract me and vice versa. Everything I have for real life me, I have it also for Tamara. Email, Facebook, Youtube, Flickr, Pinterest etc. i have everything double. And, for example, my SL Youtube is full of tutorials about mesh, Blender, animations, photography and speedpainting. My real life Youtube is full of things that fall under my real life interests. I had to do it like this because my poor attention. If I would go on my real life email and saw an interesting email from SL I would immediately login and go check it. So its better for me to have them separate. My family and closest friends in RL know most of the things I do in SL and, whenever I see they are interested to see more of what I do I will gladly show it to them (this is because, besides creative part, I don't do anything else lol). My SL Fb is friends with some of my RL friends. Also, closest SL friends know the real me and are connected with the "other me" through more channels than just SL. My best RL friend does a great thing with tagging me; if its something for example movie related, he will tag my RL Fb account and if its something related with drawings or photography he always tags my SL Fb.
  16. I am not sure if that still exist in SL but back in the day when I used to "go out" in SL you could find little shops in front of popular clubs. That's your best bet, put your affiliate shop in an area that already has some traffic, otherwise its up to you to bring traffic in, which can be pretty hard for a new merchant, specially if you don't sell your own creations. Another thing you can do is find a friend or two and make a deal, rent a parcel together and work on bringing traffic to all shops. Whatever you try there is a point in which you'll realize that you won't sell much if you don't work hard and if you work hard then most of the benefits of working hard will go to the real owner while you'll get some percentage...
  17. I know I CAN contact her but I don't want to do that lol The person who left the review did more harm to herself than to me or my freebie item. Most people don't bother to read (both reviews and the product description), ones who do bother will see whats going on there. That's it. I was just wondering what do I need to click in order to get the review deleted but now that I thought more about it, I might just let it be there
  18. Maybe (if its not urgent for you) it would be good to wait a week or two and then send a notecard to the merchant saying you want to use the item, you want to pay for it and you would like to try and make it work. It can happen that the merchant knows the item needs support and he is not able to give it at this certain time (this I say from my personal experience because I sometimes have only few mins to login, pay rent, answer the most important notecards and go on with my rl obligations). It is easiest to simply refund the person and go back to more important things, this is why I suggest to wait. And if you don't think waiting is okay then simply use this refunded money and buy the same product from another merchant. I wouldn't leave a negative review because I got refunded.
  19. Thanks for your replies... both Pamela and Bitsy.... I know its not a big deal if you look at the 1L$ value but it is a value and makes me sad seeing the person who left the review has her own MP shop so I know she is well aware that what she did was wrong.
  20. I received another 1 star review for a pose that costs 1 linden, saying how the pack contains 2 versions and none of them fit her own shape. Can someone advise me what to chose when flagging a review? Or maybe its better to just leave it as it is? I wrote her a nice reply lol
  21. Could you please tell me in what way you see it as limiting? As I used to see it, photography in SL was less limiting than the one in RL because I didn't have to (for example) wake up at 4am and drive to the beach to catch that first morning sun, in SL I just set my windlight as needed. Or I don't have to write ads to find a specific kind of model - I can create it. I am curious to hear what limitations you had in mind?
  22. You mean Azuchi castle? I used to live in that castle and back in the old days it was omgomg awesome speacially when you walk inside, stand in the middle and look up... I remember me and a friend used to put our roller skates on and ride through the halls lol
  23. Every merchant should be able to find a group/forum thread like this one so they too can feel better after reading your comments <3
  24. Here is mine, one star review on the MP; "really? Posted September 13, 2017 by *** 1 star omg i bought mirror thinking id see reflection like mirror pic shows, when i started trying poses i seen no reflection, then read nc and omg the things you have to do to get a reflection of yourself, WOW, so before buying make sure read the link cause i didnt." I was thinking to message her and ask politely if she could remove the negative review, since she stated that she didn't even read the description. But instead I flagged it, hope it was the right reason for flagging because I never had to do this and I am not familiar with those few options we have in the dropdown menu.
  25. There is also the part many people neglect which I want to mention... it is about the roleplay. People like to treat themselves with something special and they like to see when other people make some kind of an effort for them. There is a big difference between a photographer who shoots in random sims or some quiet platform somewhere high in the air and a photographer who has managed to build a business that looks same as if it was a real life business, one that is located on its own sim/parcel, has a professional building, variety of poses (not freebies), has his/her own terms of service, price lists, customers group, fan groups... People love to play so if you build all that and make your hobby to look like a real business (and treat it like that) then you will start to get customers who like to treat themselves with the new profile photo once every 2 months, who like to gift their friends the experience of visiting a professional virtual studio. I believe this is a huge thing that often gets neglected.
