I am all for self responsibility.

My mom was an alcoholic for example, so I never drank (don't get me wrong I got drunk once or twice as teen but haven't touched alcohol in 2 decades), luckily I haven't had to grow up at hers for long.

But my point basically is "wat" too. I was honestly deeply shocked to see this post was officially from LL and had to stare at it for a while and went on further investigation. My husband was like "they are probably just advertising some residents casino which is bad too". Nope they weren't.

And when I saw HOW much they charge...common these prices are beyond ridiculous and I deeply with all my heart hope they will fail so hard with this.

Can't believe I defended them loud and proud when they increased fees. Yeah one needs food, home and more but man I couldn't look in the mirror anymore after this stunt.

But that's probably just me XD and it's 3 am maybe I'm oversensitive but still meh. It's probably just this feeling of disappointment, because I thought otherwise of LL but thats my own fault and I will act accordingly.

If I was in world and saw that casino --- I would've lodged an AR report and let the Lab decide it's future.

Maybe we should all go do that? Protesting inworld to the powers that be might be more effective than complaining on the SL forum.

Throngs of avatars waving hand-made signs!

A thought: At least we don't have to worry about children getting exposed to this terrible in-world gambling.  Because Linden Lab performs thorough age verification.

I'm having fun with it, and already scored my first win.

The place is kind of dead though, there are only 6 avatars here and that is counting me.  It appears you get free tokens every day, and this is not something I am going to bother investing any real linden in.  I have other things to spend my anger points on, there is only so much anger, anxiety, or depression points I get a day and this is not worth such an investment for me 😜🤣

Edit:

The bartender is lousy though, I'm waiting on some drinks and he just sits there, dang it I want my long island and I want it now!

He is not much of a conversationalists either, would have been nice to have some chatbot features added 😜

I tried scribbling some Ancient Egyptian but he did not respond to that either.

Even the bangles did not get Anubis moving, the guy is a complete dud!

So, what did you win?

More tokens, more spins.

It looks like a place to just hang out, not get drinks because Anubis is neglectful, and press levers.  I do like levers though, and buttons.

Those prices are ridiculous and, oh now I'm guessing, you win more tokens but these tokens can't be cashed out back into lindens 'or something like that'.

Oh, gag.  I hate gambling, btw.  I never had an addiction to Gacha.  I played for a few spins a year but mostly bought second-hand Gachas.  I don't even buy lottery tickets.  I don't have this particular addiction, the one to gambling, but it's just role play money yet really expensive and one cannot cash their chips back into money.

Geesh, perhaps some of us should dress up as beggars and role play there.  It might put their lindens to better use to give out some charity instead.

Oh, this is nearly making me gag is about all I can say because I hate gambling and this is a waste of money.

Beggars? *giggles*

Give it time, if this is a real casino the bar will be swarming soon with, umm, ladies looking for company ;)

This whole thing just boggles my mind. Honestly, when I first read it I thought it was a prank or joke left over from April 1st.

I would do the beggar thing.  lol  It might sound funny but I would.  There are beggars in Las Vegas.  They swarm there.  It's sad but true.

But really, Katherine, all I was really trying to say is you don't waste money.  This comes with a premise of wasting money.

Some say it's so the Lindens can eat.  That sounds unbelievable.  I don't think the Lindens know what it's like to not afford a pair of shoes.  I've been there.  I doubt they have.  But, even if they have in their olden days, I don't think they know what's like to not be able to afford a pair of shoes nor how much this inflation is nearly breaking us.  Some products have gone up 30% to 60% per item where I live.  My rl money is low, very low.

But, it's really the thing that the premise is based on wasting money, imo, because the basic premise is you will only get back tokens that cannot be used for anything but "spins" or really just clicking something with a cursor.

They should have put this Casino at a Belli Hub!

There goes the neighborhood! Next thing you know, we will start seeing pawn shops, strip clubs, gun shops, and marijuana dispensaries.  All of our benches will have unhoused residents sleeping on them, the parks will have tents set up on them.. drug abuse will run rampant, and crime will be on the rise.

May as well setup a Walmart, bad Love!! BAD Lion!

No, Elise I understood completely, sorry if my reply came off sounding flippant. I'm as weirded out as anyone is.

To be honest, I would expect to find next to a Casino:

- Pawn Shops - A place to get money for gambling, there is one every few blocks where I live (and I am not near a casino)

- Strip joints - A place to spend your winnings

- Dollar Stores - In Real Life, now everywhere (challenging Starbucks for top spots)

Hard to imagine anyone spending lindens on tokens that can not be traded in for prizes.

Even no-copy, no-transfer prizes!

Ugly t-shirts, garish sunglasses, poker visors, tourist hats, plushies..anything that reflects on the seedy nature of a casino.

ETA: "Alibi" receipts, to show your soon-to-be-Ex that you REALLY WERE AT THE CASINO.

Thank you for clarifying ...  I really was confused - like other's,  still feel like I'm missing something obvious.

I'm a social gambler.  I enjoy meeting people from all over at the tables.

If they had live music/DJs,  and people there were friendly, and if they had a roulette table and maybe a craps table.... it could be fun.  They do,  however,  need at least boobie prizes!
