Water Ripple missing in second life as of yesterday.

Hi there!  When I logged into Firestorm today I noticed all the water is stagnant on my parcels.  I didnt touch any settings, and I tried playing with some things in preferences to no avail.  Has this happened to anyone before?  When I log in through the LL viewer, everything is fine.

Check in Preferences/Graphic/General and make sure water isn't set to opaque

Looks like its set to minimal

Set it higher and see if that makes a difference.

Assuming that you're testing against similar settings, you should file a JIRA on the Firestorm portal.

Same issue here, the water map is a grey icon in the environment settings, you will see it if you clear your cache (it was fine for me before hand)

Earlier today I received a complaint from a customer where he could no longer see the ocean ripples on his island. 

Relog, clear cache, restart of PC all did not make a difference. His ocean water looked like a mirror. Also trying the other water settings did not make any improvement.

Now I cleared my viewer cache myself, I relog, no more ocean ripples and the exact same mirror ocean like my customer had.

I tried to relog using the normal Second Life viewer, no ocean ripples anymore there either so it is not viewer related and should be linked to the update from earlier today.

A simple Clear Cache should replicate this bug.

We're having the same issue as you. I didn't have to clear cache to get it though which is just typical for me and my luck....

It seems like the ocean shader code is not properly functioning for some reason or at least with certain types of graphic cards.

We're having the same issue, and the view from beneath the water is split, and duplicated in a strange way (can't think of a better description 🤔).

This same thing started happening to me just a couple of hours ago and I didn't do a any changes to cause this. Nothing I've tried is helping either. Guessing a new bug?

From what I've seen this morning, it's happening everywhere. I just flew over Blake, tp'ed to Eden , checked out Zippity, at our shop in Badger, and even on our sim in Sandbanks - all have the same thing happening.  😬

It isn't everywhere, I just checked Zephyr (Mainland) and the sea looks normal, are all the places above saying it's broken perhaps homesteads/private islands?

I see smooth water on mainland regions.

Oops.  The normal map used in "Region (legacy)" water is not downloading.  I get a missing image message in the viewer log when it tries.

I've checked with both the stock LL viewer and Catznip, and at Zephyr I see the ripples moving across the surface as I always do.

 

Maybe this is a forthcoming Premium-Plus benefit, realistic water for those who pay

When I change parcel environment to a water preset that does not use the same normal map as legacy water then the ripples are rendered.

The only one in the list that's a private sim is Sandbanks, and I guess technically Eden (with the Fruit Islands) being its own region. I went out driving after my post, starting at route 5, and all along the connecting routes, the areas with water around or nearby are also effected.

I'm having the same issue, and I don't know if the two are related, but when viewing transparency (CTRL+ALT+T) the alphas are solid red, instead of the usual transparent red.
