Is it me or the event category is basically a dump?

There used to be a limit based on time. Maybe there still is. I've forgotten how long it was before the next submission could be done. A limit per avatar wouldn't change anything though. It would just mean logging in another alt to keep the frequency up.

On the forum, it should be a limit per venue, not per avatar.  One posting per day per venue, and if there's more than one event in the day put the whole day's schedule in the one post.

Even better, one post per week per venue and put your whole week's schedule in there.

The problem with rules is they need to be policed and enforced ... and we all know that isn't going to happen in any meaningful way when it comes to event spam.

Hence my suggestion of linking it to parcels inworld with hard caps and making the forum just mirror that.

Those limitations would just mean jockeying for position - timing when to post. For instance, if you post early in the day, your post quickly disappears beneath the waves of those who post a bit later, which also quickly disappear beneth the waves of later posters, and so on.

Why not just leave them to it? Let them scurry to write posts to make sure their events are always seen near the top of the page. Whatever rules are put in place, it'll still be a mess - imo, of course.

If the region is limited to X events fractionally divided up by land mass, sure you could have an even t on a 16sqm, but it would tick round so infrequently so as to make it pointless.

I like that idea of making events a region 'ressource'

people would find a way to make the club allow more posts (like adding rentals to the club area)

a silly other question: have you folks even ever visited a club event that was SPAMed for here?

I've never looked in the Events forum before but I just took a first look, and it doesn't look like "a dump" to me. In fact, I'm surprised at how little there is there.

there is two of them - did you look at the adult one too?

No. I found one and assumed that that one was what this thread is about.

ETA: I just looked in the adult one and, again, it doesn't look like a dump to me. It doesn't get overrun with posts - something like 6 or 7 in the last few days.

Judging by the title of this thread, I expected to find people reposting very frequently to make sure that their events are at or near the top, but neither forum shows that that's happening. They are both very sedate, imo.

I'm more interested in making events a thing .. not just here but in the viewer too.

Events need to be useful for people looking for events, and looking for events is something people should want to do. Right now it's like googling viagra.

yeah the best thing we have is the events in destinations ... and the login messages for events... ¬¬ ...all better than those two subforums

Yeah but do you have a solution? The problem is that it's basically free advertisement, and it's like asking people who want to advertise to "please leave events alone, thanks".
