Today I logged in and at the top of my screen were 4 busty chicks, one apparently had no bra on and her top was wide open but the picture was conveniently cut off right above the **bleep**...with the message "We don't like Young Men! We want you!" So they are trying to say I'm old...and male? The chick with the giant basketballs on her chest was kinda hot I guess, if you're into girls. They could at least make an attempt to tailor them to a video game genre, or business, or let SL merchants advertise or something. but really...SL peddling smut and what I'm assuming is a adult porn website? Merchants will be able to eventually advertise on most pages. I'm wondering if that's before or after current marketplace advertising is fixed. So they failed on both parts. They are highly intrusive and if they consider girls with open shirts appropriate content...just wow. Agree though, it needs to be work safe and not tacky, if that can be said of the kind of ads that they'd rather you just click on and not purchase anything. I was wondering why there were empty spaces on SL web sites - even with an ad-blocker, they are obtrusive! Since I'm paying commissions on MP sales to LL, shouldn't they in turn compensate me for turning my MP store into a billboard for other people's products? I am a member of several other online communities, one of which cost me a monthly fee also; however, because I pat this fee, I am NOT subject to being forced to look at ads. Sometimes the banners are too bright and flashy that I can't focus on the products grrr. Uploading new products was noticeably laggy today, too. Well, they are obtrusive, and like one blogger mentioned, when they show specifically on the marketplace, they become competition for people already paying for marketplace enhancements. On compensating you (or us)? No, but if you pay enough in the future you just may get to see your ad there rather than someone elses. I'm feeling included now that I finally got the roman orgy ad showing that some others have pointed out. It's also showing me an ad for Front Sight Firearms Training Institute which brings new meaning to "targetted" ads. Sathya Breil Posted March 13, 2013 Share Posted March 13, 2013 As i said at another forum board, I really feel merchants should have been told about this in advance, not only that i give LL 10% of my sales, since 99% of them are marketplace sales, but i payed monthly to suport the source of my incomings, now hey decide no only to cheapen the page but its difficult to use phone to check it...on what planet we make comercial pages more unpleaseant for costumers??, I wonder at what cost are they doing this. Linden must be hard up on cash or something to be resorting to this ugly nonsense! I didn't even notice the ads since I use an adblocker now too but from what others are showing here it looks really intrusive, really spammy & really ugly.
