  1. Advertising RP regions is not allowed in this section.
  2. It is possible that creator didn't make those items and they were simply items the model found and wore. This is a common practice among those who do modeling in SL. We are provided the outfits and it is up to us (the models) to accessorise them. Creators do not normally provide accessories.
  3. You may only feel that way... I can honestly say I am that way. There isn't a day that goes by that I don't find myself wanting off this hellhole and wishing I could move to another solar system just to get away with the effed-up society/societies that exists on Earth. People like us must walk our own paths and we must walk them alone.
  4. If you have ever cashed out, you may not be able to. There should be a little x somewhere or a cancel button or something. ETA: This should answer most if not all your questions.
  5. If you do not plan on "cashing out" no you do not. If you change your mind in the future you can accept the terms at that time. You may have to wait a bit while things process so you may not be able to cash out immediately as sometimes additional information is needed. If you are outside the US and your government does not have an official photo ID, file a ticket with LL to find out what you need to do.
  6. None of the boys in my neighborhood would be friends with me. Not with a bully like my oldest brother around. My other brother avoided me like the plague because older brother bullied him as well if he had anything to do with me. He bullied everyone. Friends in school? That was over before I ever even started kindergarten because he was there before me. That stuff followed me even to schools he had never attended because some of the students had been in schools with him so it was all there before I ever arrived. He took great delight in destroying my life, in more ways than you want to know.
  7. Your great aunts have nothing to do with my mother and the new hats that she was wearing in 2005. Modern hats that even 20 somethings wear in public. But hey you know, if talking about wearing a modern hat scares the piss out of some 20 something, that's their problem not mine.
  8. I have the opposite problem. I grew up in a neighborhood where there were no girls, only boys and two older brothers. Every female "friend" I've had turned out to be a backstabber. People never hesitate to cry on my shoulder but whenever I need a shoulder, they are nowhere to be found or they are busy or some other excuse. You're lucky you have women in your life you can trust and talk to.
  9. When I first joined SL in 2004, no one helped me. I had to learn it all on my own, yet, I'm still here. Patience is a virtue that is hard to come by. Something people half my age (and younger) don't seem to have much of these days. They're looking for instant gratification, which pretty much does not exist in SL. Being in SL takes the 5 P's: Patience, Persistence, Perseverance, Passion, and Purpose. The first 3 being the most important. If a resident doesn't possess those, nothing LL does will increase retention.
  10. Who said anything about how long ago? Some hat fashions never go out of style. No wonder I've pretty much lost all interest in meeting people. It's pretty sad when a conversation starter as innocuous as a hat is cause for ridicule.
  11. I'm more likely to be a bit more direct and say "May I ask where you bought the hat you are wearing? It reminds me of my mother. I'd like to see more of that creators work. "
  12. This is it in a nutshell. By not giving the person you (general) are trying to start a conversation with something to work with, you've got nothing. You have to give to get.
  13. Perhaps they were working on something within that region and in order to do so expeditiously, they closed the region temporarily. Kind of like when the Moles are region building and access isn't allowed until they've completed the work. Or it could have just been a glitch. Minor malfunctions do occur in SL, even if they are a bit on the rare side. Just a thought.
  14. Hi Doc! Sorry I don't have an answer for you. Just wanted to say hi since you aren't in... well... you know. I did find this on a quick search though so maybe it will help. Good luck and hopefully I'll see you inworld again sometime.
  15. Except that is the east coast for the Gulf Coast. lol
  16. Them: Hi. Me: Hello. Them: What's up? Me: The opposite of down. *crickets*
  17. I thought I had remembered reading something that said she had but I wasn't sure.
  18. That's who I thought you meant until you posted the image of the other person. Either one of them could eat crackers in my bed any time. uh oh... I think the RL other half heard me say that...
  19. In some cultures it is considered rude to ask about a person's health when meeting for the first time. Unless you really do want to hear about my health issues (most people don't, probably because they don't really care), don't ask. Don't put people who are not in good health or not feeling well in RL in that position. You're doing them more harm than good. In most cases, questions are a good thing. They show that you're actively engaged and interested in a conversation or experience. But, as with anything, there's a line here. If you've ever been prompted with an overly personal or probing question that made your voice catch in your throat, you already know that there's a pretty big difference between being inquisitive and irritating. And, it’s a line that is all too easy to cross. So, how can you tell when you’re teetering on that edge between interested and plain old rudeness? 1. You’re asking questions you already know the answer to. 2. You’re using accusatory language “Why the heck would you ever include Adam?” 3. You’re sticking your nose where it doesn't belong 4. You’re qualifying your questions “This really isn’t any of my business, but…” We can all be a little nosy at times, it’s human nature. But, there’s a definite line between being curious and being downright rude.
  20. I've never had any trouble pulling up stores by name just by clicking on the appropriate tab at the top of the search field. You can also add stores to favorites.
  21. My body has been saying, "Standard Time, PLEASE!" for 60 years. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/daylight-saving-time-is-ending-this-weekend-these-states-want-to-make-dst-permanent/ar-AAJxaTG?li=BBnb7Kz
  22. One of the people he claimed to have tried to contact is someone I have known for many years. Cristiano had good reason for not responding but it's not my place to say what the reason(s) were. And when you think about it, how would one of us react to getting an email from a complete stranger asking for an interview? After what Cristiano was put through I can't say I blame him for not responding. The author isn't the only one who left SL for many years and then came back. I left for 5 years and only came back a year ago and I've had been in SL since 2004. I don't know. Maybe I am reading too much into it. I did read that same article some time ago and my reaction to it this time was no different than the first time. It just strikes me as being snooty even with the good things that were said. I'm not saying it wasn't an interesting read, it was. It just feels more like SL bashing than anything else, to me. It gets really old after awhile because there has been so much of that sort of thing written by people who really don't know the first thing about SL and expect it to be just another MMO game, when that couldn't be further from the reality. Yes, he did say that SL isn't a game, per se, but then proceeded to do just like all the others I've read and by the time it gets to the "good" parts, it was already too late. If I had been someone who has never been in SL and didn't know anything about it, the article would have put me off SL completely.
  23. I wonder if I am the only one to ever notice that most of the "articles" that bash SL are written by people who admit to trolling in SL. To me, that says more about the ones writing the "SL sucks articles" than SL.
