  1. OH! lol Took me a minute to get what you are saying. Your walk-in must be the size of the Taj Mahal.
  2. LL has servers outside of California as well but they can't cram all of SL on them. The servers they already have, have more than enough crammed on them as it is.
  3. Oregon will be requiring a passport, driver's license, birth certificate, tourist visa, work visa, a green card and you must be sponsored by a current resident who has been in residence more than 10 years. We don't need more problems either. Besides, Portland is weirder than all of California.
  4. Once upon an ancient time, that is exactly what a lot of us would do but then you didn't have to jump through hoops to be able to log into Aditi, just change a dropdown in prefs.
  5. Would you eat Rocky Mountain oysters? I hear they taste just like chicken. *runs away very fast
  6. There is a very good and simple explanation of how permissions work in SL on the SL wiki. http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Permission Sometimes it's just better to give a customer that asks about no mod scripts in an object that link so they can read for themselves and understand how all permissions work in conjunction. If they still have questions then perhaps it would be best for them to contact LL with those questions. There's also the permissions FAQ that @Toy LaFollette wrote on the wiki. http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Help:Permissions This section in particular: If a customer still doesn't understand, I would say it's a language barrier thing. The seller has done all they can at that point and it's on the customer to seek out someone who speaks the same language to explain it to them, if the seller does not speak that language. Or the seller could go the extra mile that customers appreciate so much and ask what language, then use a translator. ETA: Those links could always be added to the description on MP as well. I don't see why LL would have any objection to doing so.
  7. /me wonders when Washington and Oregon moved from the west coast...
  8. Two things can prevent the transaction. 1. you do not have the 10Ls required or 2. you are using the display name rather than the account name. If neither is the case try again in a low lag region.
  9. This is NOT aimed at anyone in particular. "You" is a general you. If I can't see what is in the box/folder, I won't buy it. No ands, ifs or buts about it. I don't buy anything sight unseen. Even inworld, unless the item is in a multipanel vendor, you can still see what is in the box. It will show all permissions as no copy/no mod/no trans regardless of what they actually are because you do not own it (yet). Without the contents tab you could lose far more sales than you may realize. It also is a boon to sellers since they can check that tab to see if anything is missing. Sometimes things get overlooked or simply just don't make it into the proper folder/box. The contents tab is there for the benefit of your customers and you aren't just a seller, you're also a customer if you buy any thing. So, take advantage as both customer and seller, rather than hiding the contents and losing sales.
  10. Wait... who da heck puts black olives on deviled eggs?! eww! *picks off the olives before eating all the deviled eggs* Needs a little paprika.
  11. There's also the FS wiki that has all kinds of help on it. https://wiki.firestormviewer.org/ You can find the same information there.
  12. You're replying to a 5 year old thread, in case you didn't notice the date. I'm pretty sure the OP has it figured out by now if they are still in SL.
  13. Well I did. Some were pretty gross looking but I liked where it led me. Some absolutely wonderful (and some cute) octopus cakes. This one weighed 200 pounds! Anyone for baked snail?
  14. SL servers are "updated" weekly, not hourly. That's what the rolling restarts every Tuesday and Wednesday are for. https://status.secondlifegrid.net/ Unless, of course, you are trying to address the creator of your mesh body? If so, you should contact them for help.
  15. If that is coconut on the legs that I'm seeing... no way. If it's cheese and the bread is tasty, yeah I think I would if the sauce isn't too bitey. Some of those marinaras have a bite to them that leaves a metallic taste in my mouth. Other than that... it's cute and I'd want to preserve it. lol Some spiders give me the willies too like brown recluses *shudders* but others don't bother me except when my cat plays with them. I have to admit though, that I think some spiders are kind of cute.. mainly the hogna species of wolf spiders. But I won't post a pic since you seem to be arachnophobic and the last time I posted a pic of a spider on a forum I got my butt chewed for it.
  16. I meant exactly what I posted. Neither one had reached the gamma stage when released to the general public. https://www.360logica.com/blog/what-are-alpha-beta-and-gamma-testing/
  17. uh oh... I"m in trouble now! But if I run, you'll chase me. *runs anyway*
  18. I understood that a long time ago. lol I mainly was hoping to get confirmation on the general use of the permissions on the right side which you have given me so thank you!
  19. I know someone whose hair is almost that long in RL. She rarely cuts it and she never cuts it shorter than floor length. I'd be just as envious of you, Gobi. I'm lucky my super baby fine hair will reach to my waist.
  20. I think I ran across him a few years back. What a strange experience that was discovering the troll was actually someone much older than one would expect.
  21. Thank you. That's what I was trying to say. IMO, creators should use the listing on the right side that are chosen by the seller to indicate what the main object permissions are set at. In other words set those permissions to whatever the item (not items) permissions actually are and let the system list everything else and those permissions on the Contents tab. That is how it's supposed to work, isn't it? Say the main item is hair and it comes with different color balds and maybe an attachment or two. The hair is copy/mod/no trans but the balds and attachments are copy/no mod/no trans, you don't set the permissions on the right side for the balds and attachments, you set them for the hair itself which is copy/mod/no trans. Is this not correct @Dakota Linden?
