  1. I'm creating an area for Whole Brain Health @ the Inspiration Bay sim, utilizing the fun underwater rides Eku Zhong created (of Culprit). [She has closed her inworld store]. She had a big closing sale and I nearly bought the place out. I believe her MP store is still open though.
  2. Great movie about all that in recent years, showing how easily people can be railroaded by vested interests (in this case, cops who jumped to wild conclusions when all too eager to solve a case).
  3. This is so funny, the peeve thread is a peeve. Super blue? I wish. Here it was pale yellow on a pale gray sky. It made me wonder why so many sims I visited lately have shades of gray in the sky. Maybe they're advertising the book. Pet Peeve: She died not long ago.
  4. It's been a bit of a wild day on this thread so we better be good and not talk about 1st life or something that's not a pet peeve. You could start a thread on these 2 topics though, related to these issues in 2nd life, and I'd likely participate there. Pet Peeve: I don't believe I've seen you start a thread yet.
  5. Welcome to the thread. So glad you entered in to tell us how stupid we are. HUGSSSSS Pet Peeve: people who do this.
  6. I blame all this today on the full moon...a special full moon..a super blue full moon. Yes, the peeve thread is a peeve today.
  7. Pet peeve: Black & white thinking You can stand by someone's right to consent to certain behaviors, but also view such behaviors as destructive and advocate against such behavior. Like with my friend I mentioned earlier, who believes it's okay to divorce sex from love...she was still my friend, but I disagree with her belief that it's not harmful to do what she advocated. I don't think she realized the ramifications of what she believed in.
  8. I think it's a good debate, and my Pet Peeve is that you might have given up on your side too soon. The question is...at what point should someone be expected to speak better English? You seemed upset that Seicher would require this in group announcements and note cards describing products in SL. Like you, I don't think that should be required excessively -- I'd accept a few mistakes. I do become annoyed when people start posting in a language I don't understand on the forum. If interested in the topic I go to my translator and don't confront, but feel that since they are entering a space where English is being spoken they should be the one to enter the discussion with translated words. For the sake of ease in communication.
  9. You're right - it isn't love, it's lust. I'm not saying whether or not that's a good thing, nor whether people shouldn't want to harm each other; I'm just calling it what it is. Hmmm...you made me think here, Garnet. I very much believe that lust should not be divorced from love. I remember arguing some years ago with my best friend at the time about it -- she felt fine that the 2 can be divorced. I believe that it's not healthy to separate parts of ourselves as humans -- that they should be integrated. It's fine if animals do as they don't have the capability to integrate these. So my Pet Peeve here is that I did not recognize quite what I was advocating until now.
  10. Pet Peeve: My brother lives in Florida and was in the direct path of this hurricane, and I have not heard from him. Well, this is heading into 'beyond pet peeve' territory. Maybe I'll make the pet peeve the fact that so many in the US are spread so far apart and detached from their families.
  11. Pet Peeve: Some don't realize people can change through experience, and in fact it's through experience that one can know the deepest realities (as opposed to intellectual knowledge, book learning).
  12. Pet Peeve: Some don't realize that all acts between people should be acts of love, and not fantasies of harming each other. Labeling harm as 'kink' does not justify anything. Claims of 'consent' does not change this. Everyone has the right to do what they want in the privacy of their home, of course, but we should not sugarcoat this behavior as being acceptable -- violence/debasement/fantasies of harm -- this is not love.
  13. haha I remember taking my first class in 2nd life, like almost 20 years ago! A building class, where I was totally shocked and amazed upon rezzing a cube and hearing that sound. I was a bit worried, as I thought I'd disturbed the entire class...lol. I'm encountering more successful classes today than you're imagining. Someone reported a class at Builder's Brewery where 40 people were present, and my landscaping class is getting to be too big to manage...I may need to break it down into two time slots. Not so many in my Moonlight Mantras class, usually 5 people but last week 10 or 11 -- I'd think there would be more interested in chanting Sikh mantras! j/k My Heart Menders class varies...sometimes 2 or 3 people attend, sometimes 10.
  14. That's horrible. How does somebody even do that if not given powers to eject/ban in a group?
  15. and hence why i mentioned about a certain "join fee" that'd be a one time thing :3 cus i dont want to waste my precious time into teaching someone something out with my heart only to know they up and left :3 That might be a good idea as a way to weed out those who aren't truly interested in your class, and reminds me of store groups that charge a fee, thereby weeding out those who are only joining to get the free stuff. I haven't done that with the groups I'm teaching but would consider it should too much griefing occur.
  16. and hence why i mentioned about a certain "join fee" that'd be a one time thing :3 cus i dont want to waste my precious time into teaching someone something out with my heart only to know they up and left :3 Yes, also there are those who think everything is just roleplaying and don't consider they're wasting your time when they start acting up and being brats.
  17. I have the CNN website open, and apparently it's up to a category 2 now. My brother lives in the path of this.
  18. Where did you find a place to watch that? I can't find it anywhere...unless an actual 1st life movie theatre.
