  1. I checked it out yesterday, together with a bunch of other ex mentors. The uniforms look....hmm not realy good and some helpers needed serious lessons in editing, their badges were floating in the air. One of them was wearing the pink polkadot shirt and pants under the...raincoat? And some didn't have an AO. What struck me was that all avs were human, no furries, robots, or whatever. The helpers seemed friendly however and tried to adress the crowd. The questions around were the same as the ones we used to get as mentors: how do I get money, a house, change my clothes and how do I have you know what ;-) It was kinda fun to just hang out there and see them work!
  2. To me it looks like you are trying to buy land priced at 50.000L and you have 13.385L in your account. Maybe that's the problem?

  4. For permissions see; http://community.secondlife.com/t5/English-Knowledge-Base/Permissions-on-objects/ta-p/700129 And a prim: http://community.secondlife.com/t5/English-Knowledge-Base/Build-Tools/ta-p/700039 Basicly a prim is a building block you can shape and combine into objects. Transfer means you can give the item away to somebody else. If an item is copy, you can make a copy and store it in sperate places in your inventory or rezz more of the same inworld, for instance put out several copies of the same chair. If an item is transfer and copy you can share it with friends and still keep the original yourself, if it's only copy you loose the original. Mod is short for modify, this means you can change the shape or texture of the item you bought, so you can make sure the item fits your avatar. Make a copy first, so if it goes wrong you can start again with the original!
  5. There's a maximum to the amount of layers you can wear, maybe you reached that?
  6. When you see a sweater in a shop window (RL) and think: I allready have that one in my inventory.
  7. Just a snapshot, nothing fancy :matte-motes-dead:
  8. If you want adult animations you can try: https://marketplace.secondlife.com/stores/4629, I'm one of the staff there. Most beds have a choice of frames within the menu so you can change the style. Besides beds there's outdoor furniture, bathrooms, spa's and living room furniture. We have a very wide selection of menus for couples, girls, guys and groups. There's several sims so we try to have staff around 24/7, all you have to do id find a green questionmark and click it to get help or advise. Not all out items are on marketplace so check out the store http://slurl.com/secondlife/A%20Lovers%20PlayGround/128/237/22
  9. I've been in SL for over 4 years and never had any legal issues. If you have any specific questions about rating or other thing, just post them to this forum! Start by exploring the many wonderfull sites, the destination guide is a good place to start.
  10. Thank you for posting all these wonderfull shop! Some I allready knew but others are new for me and nice to try out. Keep them coming :matte-motes-bashful-cute-2:

  12. Though I can't see mesh objects (yet) I think this is a better way to use it then hair or clothes for which I have to edit my avatar shape. Do you have any isight as to what these bird do on primcount? Keep up the good work!
  13. I assume you contacted your bank and/or creditcard company immediatly? In most European countries these days a call via landline to the USA doesn't cost a fortune. Just google and you'll probably find cheap rates for Italy as well. Make the phonecall to LL or, if you can't speak English good enough, try to get a friend to help you calling them.
  14. SL has a very steep learning curve, I agree but right from the beginning I always found helpfull people around. All you have to do is just ask, either here or inworld. Some people are just dorks but most are friendly and helpfull. If I hadn't had help in the beginning I'ld still wouldn't know how to change clothes, edit my hair or shoes, share things or dance. In the process I learned a lot about Using PC's as well, if it wasn't for my SL friends I still wouldn't have any idea how to update my graphics driver or where to find hidden folders. And realy after being her for over 4 years, I still learn new things!
  15. I did without a house for my first year in SL. I usualy logged out in a remote corner of my favourite beach location and came back there the next time. For changing clothes I'ls either find a public dressing room, go underwater or fly up, or just find one of the many beserted spots in SL. After a year I started with renting a small house from a friend and after that..well...I still have my own plot. I like to redecorate and I've gone from tropical beach, to forst clearing, to park aerea to beach again. If you don't feel the need for any of those, just don't bother...shop, change in a deserted aerea or on one of the lm's previous posters put here and just have fun! I also like to visit live artists in SL and making a habit of tipping them plus the venue. I hope all visitiors (if they can afford offcourse) will do the same!
  16. I have a great job so |I'm not personaly interested but some questions come to my mind: What timeslots do you work in? Especialy for events is good to know if you're available during that time. What language skills do you require? How many hours do you expect people to work? Do you accept new players or what skill do you expect for the jobs? And last but not least: what kind of payment are you thinking of? Good luck with your company!!
  17. Is this dress available in a smaller cupsize as well? It looks like my avatar would drown in it........ That's my biggest problem with mesh clothing, I'ld like to keep my own size. The jeans look ok, but what happens if your legs are shorter or longer? I don't want to change into a "standard" avatar, I love the way people can create their own special shape and size
  18. There's no easy way to make money in SL. The few people who realy make mony devote a lot of time and perceveirance in what they do. Real estate in SL is slow if you see how much land is available for sale at the moment.
  19. Wow, you must be a quick learner! After more then 4 years I'm still learning new things almost daily what are the thing you enjoy doing most? Do you have any usefull special skills? Good luck in finding a job!
  20. Maybe you need to work on your shape to make it look better? A picture with your problem may help us understand better, I've never seen a "flabby" skin as far as I know.
  21. I'm not a builder but you're question isn't quite clear to me. You allready have a sim and are looking for someone to build it up, to your wishes? Or are you looking for someone who can make do an open sim project? i.e a stand alone sim, not connected to SL. Maybe if you could elaborate a bit to get more reaction. This is a public forum so you may want to reconcider posting your email adress. All the best with your project!
  22. Phoenix and Firestorm both have aerea search, if you know the name of the item you can type it in the search field and you'll get a beacon to guide you there. I'm not familiar with V2 or other tpv's but maybe they have that funtion as well.
  23. Maybe you need to explain a bit more about what you expect? If you want your av to look like a celebraty for instance, it's not just the shape but a look alike skin as well. What's your defenition of high quality? Have you tried creating a shape yourself and what (if any) were the problems you found?
  24. Make sure you completely delete all SecondLife folders from your PC, do a search including hidden files.
  25. I work for a store that sells adult beds and most of them are pretty big. I our customers want to be sure if the bed will fit, we provide them with a prim the exact size of the bed so they can try that out. Becuase of the menus in our beds they can't be resized, you'ld end up in the wrong spot trying out you favourite position! ;-)
