  1. Very good answer! I just have one thing to add: A lot of abandoned land is set for sale at the moment at L$1 per sq.m. Just visit the parcel and buy the land, no need to raise a ticket! To see parcels for sale on mainland, open your world map and make sure land for sale is ticked. It'll show up in yellow ith a pricetag.
  2. I'm also a resident since 2007 and don't see that many problems. No, I don't have a super pc but a 3 year old laptop that wasn't even top range when I bought it. Some changes I don't realy like but till now I've managed to adapt myself to each of them. I'm not a fan of display names, not because you have the oppurtunity to use them but because residents choose to use unreadable font. I hated the sidebar interface and never use, I'm using Firestorm right now and it does ok. Mesh is as good as the creator that makes it, but that's the same for prim stuff and sculpts, some builds (clothes, attachements whatever you can think of) are just crap, and other are well made, creative and a work of art. I don't suffer from lag most of the time, but surely when I hit a sim with 38 people all wearing scripted hair clothes etc. etc. I suffer. And yes, sometimes the whole grid has a problem but so does every other computer network know of. I do agree with you on search, ever since it's webbased it's slow or not responding and very hard to manage. Same goes for marketplace. Remember the "haIr in butt syndrome" and the wednesdays that the grid was offline for hours while the gorillas "banged on things"? Things have come a long way since 2007, each change took me a while to adapt and to find my way in the viewer again. In this forums I see a lot of tips and tricks on how to improve performance. Maybe start to try one of the V3 viewers and use the tips and tricks provided?
  3. Very nice and thoughtfull words! Now, if everybody lived like that.....:smileyvery-happy:
  4. well, ask your landlord for support, if your money goes there. ;-) You chose to have a free account all this time wich is fine, but it's only fair that people who choose to pay for their membership get extra support, it's one of the things you pay for. It's just like the extra insurance you can get when buying a pc or smartphone: You don't HAVE to get it but you'll have extra benefits if it breaks down after the initial insurance time. And I agree, everything in SL is owned by Linden Labs, when the company decides to pull the plug none of us will have anything left. After all it's nothing more then sever space, pixels and scripts! I do hope you'll get your problems sorted, maybe other forums, wiki's (Try the Phoenic/Firestorm one as well) and knowledge base may help you. The inworld phoenix/Firestorm support group offers a lot of (FREE!!) help, besides the support people it's followed by a lot of knowledgable residents that offer help as well.
  5. I just asked the same question in the employment section ;-)
  6. How many hours of work do you expect your emloyee to put in? L1000 is just $4 and you do ask for a lot of skills. Not interested in the job myself, just curious!
  7. LL is very clear about their rules on support. The money you invested in renting land didn't go the Linden Lab but to your landlord, same goes for the money you spent on all the things you bought. Your If non of the troubleshooting you tried helped you, your best change would be moving to premium for a month, make sure you use the SL viewer, use SL support (Live Chat may be a good place to start). If your issue is resolved you can choose to cancel your premium again.
  8. You are 4 years old? Or you roleplay a 4 year old? :matte-motes-evil:
  9. I've seen a lot of valuable tips and answers in here, did you follow any of them? Did you allready take any basic building classes? From there it's just using your imagination, try, practice and develop yourself, with help from builders groups. Just starting to build in a sandbox will often attract people that can help and give tips as well. If you google around a bit, you'll find simple things to build. Don't expect to be able to produce something wonderfull to start with, it's a very steep learning curve to get there!
  10. I just looked at the other pictures on your blog and it looks like a sim worth visiting!
  11. I don't mean to spoil your fun but...That IS the main grid :matte-motes-evil-invert:
  12. Join the Phoenix/Firestorm support group and ask your questions there. Or take a look ate the wiki they have: http://wiki.phoenixviewer.com/doku.php . Lots of answers and tips!
  13. I actualy bought some male stands and put them in my AO. Works great for me!
  14. It wouldn't bother me at all, though I might ask you what the story behind it was. Some people are easily offended by a less then perfect look, but that's their problem. Why not give it a go and see how it works out?
  15. I hope that's not your profile picture, that certainly isn't a face of a 5 year old. Just wondering since English isn't my native language...Do english speaking 5 year olds realy speak like this? The 5 year olds I read to in the library I work are far easier to understand. If this post is an example of your RP you're a freak ;-)
  16. That's not emoting that's gesturbating.... Something that'll make me tp out of a club if it keeps going on. Just a personal opnion of an old ;-) lady!
  17. Thnx so much for the tips!! And yes, it's the dress from Collabor 88, in my all time favourite color ;-).
  18. Purple dress from Ingenue, good old Bax boots and short hair from Dura..Now I just wish I could make better snapshots!!!
  19. I pm pst isn't lunchtime in my part of the world...:matte-motes-little-laugh:, it's more ike dinnertime!!
  20. The shop I work for (A Lovers Playground, adult animated furniture) tries to have staff present 24/7. It's huge, spread over 6 sims. We greet and welcome people, point them in the right direction , tell them about the features that maybe aren't too obvious and offer help when there's a problem. We often get the question if we're bots, especialy from new residents. The store is a full time job for the owners and having staff around saves them from having to answer questions and attend to things like parcel setting that don't allow scripts, people that don't read instructions or people looking for a certain item. It works very well and most of our customers value the attention they get.
