  1. I use Firestorm and use the aerea search function to do just that. Usualy the blogger puts the name of the item in the article and it's very wasy to find it that way!
  2. an i3 processor isn't realy top of the line at the moment anymore, Toshiba offers laptops with an i7 processor and an nvidea 525 card for around €750,- at the moment. maybe you can specify wich intel HD graphics card you have? SL is not like any other game, it asks much more from a graphics card I'm afraid. Nobody insulted you, they just did some online research and gave you the results. Maybe you don't like the outcome but nothing wrong was said. edit: I found a Toshiba Satellite Pro C660-233 - intel i3-370M / 2GB DDR3 RAM GB HDD for €440,- . Not a gaming laptop, but an everyday use one. If they sold you a similar one as being a gamers laptop you need to go back and talk to the seller.
  3. The only thing that strike me as "noob" are your tattoos maybe. Your avatar isn't special or will stand out in a crowd but if you like this look, just keep it this way, there's realy nothing wrong with it. Tastes differ and you should always go for what you like best and feel comfortable with (especialy seen from behind ;-) )
  4. I don't like the overly girly AO's too much so I added male stands as well. Just try them out in the shops and see wich ones work for you!
  5. I've used this method a number of times, works great! I usualy shrink the unwanted prims down as well so it's easier to move them without any parts sticking out somewhere. Another reason never to buy no mod hair with a resize script that can't be removed. Time consuming yes but realy woth the trouble!
  6. What made me smile these last day is my first granddaughter, born on june 11. She's so tiny and precious!!
  7. Brenda Connolly wrote: If you feel your local police can't handle your situation, you can always go to the state authorities like the Attorney general. They usually have cyber crimes units. If you feel truly threatened and worried, there is always the FBI. Not everybody in SL lives in the US.....
  8. Wow, I'm glad you're educating the masses about this health hazard! Sounds like a killer virus!! :womantongue:
  9. Oooohh Earl Grey...Nice! Thank you!
  10. English is not my native language and I make typo's a lot. I can stand poor gramar from other non English speakers because I make mistakes as well. I can read through typo's for the same reason. I'm too old to try and read chat speak, I have to read it out loud to understand and I refuse that! What's even worse is trying to talk to somebody through a translator who doesn't make coherent sentences. It's great that my English skills are good enough so I'm able to communicate with most SL users I've no Idea how to classify myself.....all of the above maybe?
  11. Objects that are no trans can't be transfered to other avatars. That's just what no transfer means: no permission to give away.
  12. 2 accounts, my main I use all the time and an alt I used to make sure my group stays in existence. I hardly ever log in to that one.
  13. 8 pages, 9 online. About 80% of people on that list are buisiness contacts though, there's only 4 or 5 people I'ld call friends and chat with just for fun.
  14. I'm 50 and the majority of people on my friendslist are 40+. I've met them at all kinds of places, from casual groupchats, to jazz clubs and from shops to beaches. The oldest persone on my list is 76, the youngest is 19.
  15. I'm impressed by mesh buildings I've seen, very much detail and lower prims, that's great. I'm not impressed by hair and clothes so far, I've tried every demo I could get my hand on and even bought a few things. Long skirts cling to your legs instead of move around. I miss details on pants like seams and pockets and a lot of pants look a bit weird in the crotch section. dresses never fit, when my boobs look right, my bum is too small, standard sizing doesn't work for my av. Hairs clings to your body and looks static. Most of the time I have short hair anyway, so the poking through body isn't that much of a problem. I do see improvement in clothing and hair however so I'll keep trying demos and buy things, and because I'm not a creator I admire everybody who is.
  16. What kind of buisiness is Second Focus? You mention bookings so what do you book? Just curious, not looking for a job myself.
  17. Well Kenziekins, I must say I agree with Peggy on this. Your post didn't make it clear this was an RP thing only and not one of the griefing " security" groups. Maybe you should mention more what people can expect if they contact you about this? What is the goal of your group, how are they going to handle trespassers or griefers if it's only RP? Just yeliing "Go away or I'll...." won't make an impression. This is a forum you're posting in, you can expect people to react and tell their opinion on your post or to ask questions about it. I'm curious at what you have in mind when talking about a para-military security team in SL and I hope you can eleborate on this.

  19. Why didn't you talk to the merchant first before writing a bad review? To me that seems a more friendly aproach when your not satisfied with an item and it gives the creator the oppurtunity to improve. It also gives you a sense of the customer service of the store. In my experience a little friendlyness goes a long way! I must say I don't realy look at reviews much myself because it's easy enough for a merchant to involve friends to write them.
  20. Sales are slow and depend on the amount you're selling for plus the enviroment. You can get mainland for 1 L$ sq.m, sometimes even less, and there's a lot of parcels for sale. You don't tell what your price is, maybe you just need to lower it.
  21. what do you mean by: " Payment & Wages Our payment will be a lot different to most businesses, some will see it as not the best, but if you know how to look ahead and see potential in your own work and others as well as the business as a whole, you will see that eventually this will be a gold mine." As far as I know companies either pay by the hour, on comission base or a percentage of the sale you make, some give bonusses as well. How different is yours? What kind of time input do you expect and can you use people from all timezones? Last but not least; what kind of treatement can I expect as an employee?
  22. A lot of people (like me) have absolutely no idea how to do things like that. I'm a typical end user, I need a pc to work without too much hassle. Much like my car, when I hear something funny or something doesn't work I go to a garage, I have no idea how to fix it myself. I've looked into Linux but there's too much I don't understand about how an OS works. So I have to either use windows or Mc OS, depending on the computer I get or pay someone to change my computer to Linux. I'm NOT saying that Windows is a wonderfull OS, just trying to make clear that not all SL users are computer wizz"
  23. WOW! I managed to attend for about half an our but had so much lag I could never make a foto! Thnx Hippie for a wonderfull event!
