  1. I also did the live globe piece as a sculpture series in SL for a while with various scutlures I had made over the years, here is a link to one of those collections with windlight play https://www.facebook.com/hunter.stern/media_set?set=a.562584317155565.1073741831.100002120042366&type=3 *note this was a direct visual on Specular mapping as well to see it's impact with inworld lighting and windlight settings.
  2. hi Tamara, I do have examples of work. I make real time photo props generally and use of enviornment. I use a twin avatar for my mirrors and employ my glass textures and materials to make that mirror as seen below, Also note that the image with the glass orb is unededited only a the signature was added, the Glass on the orb does not employ iworld specular. With these type of image I can easily provide myself and others with unique art works not normally found about. It is surreal and interpretative in execution. Some of my work can be also be found on Facebook
  3. exzackly, one thing i like about the face you have on now is it has subtle pore highlights in the details. Pores as a detail can help make a head not look so plastic too. Also you don't have to buy a whole face. You can go with the base Adam, and I'm sure if will come Brows/no Brows (I could be wrong?) , and a variety of face hairs or clean cut. either way you have a lot of options after the initial purchase.
  4. well, generally speaking male stuff is not advertised as well as female content, so it's always good to research and take note if there is a good abundance. In some cases the heads and/or bodies can be very limited as well. The more options the better I always say. I honestly cringe when I see a guy who has gone to the trouble of buying a mesh body and head and yes they look very nice, and them simply slaps on the default content that is provided thus ensuring the clone phenomena we often see.
  5. Why not ask Furry Alex or whoever created the video (since there are no full credits to the actors)? They might know better how to contact the actor for which hair you are inquiring.
  6. I am Hunter. I make glass, real time mirror effects, and landscape photos. No gallery or museum anymore, but I always follow and support arts and photography forum for their creation and learning purpose.
  7. You might want to pay attention to face appliers when purchasing a head, what appliers will work with what head. I am currently wearing Catwa Justin Bento, with an applier from L'etre (some of their appliers only work with Signature Giani and some with Catwa). There are a wide variety of of stores out there ( on Marketplace you can put 'Skin Applier for Face Applier in your search fields ) for male face appliers that include Omega appliers which offer additional details such as different eye brows, facial hairs, makeup hightlights , hair bases teeth lips, etc. I also own the default Aesthetic Enzo and Smith heads from Niramyth, but they are limited in hair bases to a degree. Also Nivaro, which has face appliers through use of Omega. And heads by Labyrinth. Modulus also offers mesh head appliers for brows , beard bases and hair bases.
  8. There is a function in LSL that will specifically return the event if a script is removed or placed into an object by anyone other than the intended creator via key and through e-mail (i've written my own for custom skin appliers). Creators could could also script or ask their scripter to add a self tamper proof feature to where if the script is removed it becomes redundant and is deleted upon removal/ reuse in other objects. what might be a better solution is to offer variants though of the hair atleast one withe the original masking components, and then another without. (of course leaving a more solid look , but atleast no alpha conflict). but in short, yeah that Hair vs. Alpha anomaly drives me batty too.
  9. and what about hair that is no mod?? A friend of mine ran into this alpha glitch issue. It could be alteast fixed (as prescibed by the catwa site) by editing the hair alpha mode. Seriously , why are people selling no mod mesh anyways? you can't rip mesh and you can't change the hair essentially( other than the texture) if it is rigged anyways. Demoing does not good in many cases whereas many Demo's are no mod because they are a limited preview item.
  10. @Marianne Little I'm using the Aesthetic body with and without a mesh head. I agree that there are some of the limitations and wish there were more applier options to Aesthetic, but there are two Skin Installers to each pack iirc. It would also be wonderful if they came out with appliers for details to bento hands ( and mesh feet) could be added. mind you, many creators already provide a vast array for female hands and feet and they didn't forget the nail polishes, but for men I would love to see something like bruises or scuffing or dry worked hands infact to mix things up a bit. A photo with me as a mechanic with pristine clean hands is not going to make the shoot and add to more post process later to add in heh. I have been trying out various heads though from Niramyth to Nivaro to labyrinth and now Catwa (which I'm really impressed with as far as all the Omega choices go and how well it does work with the Aesthetic body (I use Modulus hair bases for a fade blend to the neck lines in conjunction with the New Blender from Aesthetic on bald. The pose I used is at https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/Reel-Poses-Friends-Selfie/7421964 This is my latest venture in heads though after I got the Justin head to go along with my Paul head from Catwa. From Letre with Deadwool and Doux Hair and Facial hair mix.
  11. @Marianne Little I love challenging my system for such projects of load impact after getting a new computer last year. Logging myself in to ultra settings and then setting the other guys down on another monitor to minimum graphics load in 4-5 windows. It's funny because even though they are actually very similar to myself and have that 'looks related' appeal, they each have their own personality in some way. Forester is the smallest guy having to climb up on his big brother Xavier's shoulders, and Phencer (next to me) always has an excited look while Max and Lex tend to have a mature bemused approach to such things. Yeah I was wondering if there are any Bento rigged beards out there too come to think of it. The beard will follow the jaw when the mouth opens when attached to the mouth but the stache seems to stay static in position causing issues with the upper teeth if expressions get too wild. I need to invest in some bento hands and see how they look. So far from what I have found the hands are very frame based still but they still look great in static poses for finger position. My concern is though, are they going to look chalky and smooth whereas men's hands are a bit more lined. I will have to test and see and see if there are any Bento rigged facial hair out there yet that has slipped by me.
  12. STERNWOOD FOREST Sternwood Forest is a full seasonal adult sim. We cater primarily to LGBT men, but we welcome everyone including Furry , Beasts and other many cultures throught SL! This is an ADULT Sim with ADULT themes and 'OPEN' areas as well as private and is not suitable for Child AVs nor those under 18 (sorry kids, don't bother asking your parents :) ). Currently we are in winter, so there is Ice Skating, and Sledding offered. Many areas allow for just sitting , resting cuddling with friends, exploring and the like. We also have rock climbing (though we allow flying for those that wish to traverse in this manner) and Horses are available throughout. Sternwood Forest is set in an Old World Medieval and somewhat Nordic theme. We do not have a dress code so come as you are respectfully ofcourse. We have casual and open ended RP to the more seasoned RPers. There really are no rules here other than to be mindful of eachother. Weapons are allowed but are restricted to nothing over small pistols or bow and arrow (again this is Medieval we are going for, not WWII simulator lol ). We do have rentals but only 4-5 at most and are first come first basis. We are not focusing on a residential aspect other than to add some life into the sim with these. These are private and require permissions to enter. If one is open, feel free to look over the Rental box/Meter and Covenant. We are very open to photography and Sternwood Forest/Havru boasts some of the best vista around for such projects including Machinima. We hope to see many of you there even if its a short stop in at the Tavern to look around. Cheers!
  13. I also wanted to mention, when adjusting the RGB, there are two buttons, one black (for darker) and one white (for lighter) < >. Use these to lighten the overall shade as needed. Remember Red and Green are going to give you orange to brown tones more red = pinkish, more green is more yellowish. Add is any blue undertone as necescarry too but probably not very much. The skin on the Aesthestic body comes premapped and ready for the body. There might be some makers out there as well who create mapped skins for the body. This I don't know whereas I haven't looked for those type of appliers myself.
  14. first it depends on exactly what skin from Tellaq you have. Is it a cacasion tone (white to pinkish tan) or more polynasian in to afrocentric (darker tones of tans and browns)? There are two skin appliers that come with the Aesthestic Mesh. One is Medium (for darker tones) and then there is an extra skin tone (lighter tones). Try each of the appliers (seperately ofcourse) these will set your color spectrum on your MAIN COLOR AND ALPHA HUD. from there you can adjust the RGB as needed. One tip i have , is to make sure for cleaner blending to take into accounts the whole body like the chest for example. You need to bring the tone of the body in as close to your cheeks (highlight) as you can where light would fall on your higher parts of your body, then watch in near the neck line. Also don't rush with the RGB arrow with holding a Color down, take your time in 5 click increments, click the desired color and select USE from the blue drop down menu that should come up). Once you have your desired tone , then use the SAVE option to save it to the color pallets (this will appear on the next page of your Color/alpha HUD). *Note:Note when buying Enzo or Smith. Enzo has a standard color pallete, while theSmith has a more smokey to dark overlay.
  15. You could have accidentally disabled clouds perhaps ( this can be done using the ctrl+alt+shift - or 0 , I forget) but disabling the Linden clouds should only be an effect that lasts per login session.
  16. I had this occur last month and am still somewhat unclear what may have triggered it other than possible billing cycle tied in with Purchasing Trading Limits. Goto https://secondlife.com/my/lindex/describe-limits.php for more information. I could be a matter of when you are normally billed VS your purchasing limit level.

  18. What viewer are you using? I did hear there is an issue with Advanced Lighting and shaders and AL is more likely to work better in LL's viewer.
  19. Lawrence, I understand you're simply trying to get an honest opinion, but please understand that real people also make these avatars and many are very proud of their works. So please consider carefully when asking. I'm sure you would appreciate the same consideration yourself if your works were being asked about. Now onto the topic of the avatar demo you purchased. You say you want a more mature or 'seasoned' look to your avatar face. Looking at the Ad I would say the shape provided fits the bill imo, and it is attractive or atleast the creator took on an approach for the avatar to be 'appealing' to mature audiences. Personally for me when I shop either in world or on Marketplace, I either know right off if something is going to look good for me or if its going to be flexible enough to adjust to the point to meet my standards (I don't usually buy Demos, but that's just me). That is key when look and shopping for various avatar builds. Is it flexible in it's permissions (does it come Modify, Copy allowed). Are there accessories offered with it? Is it easy to adapt to other enviorments (i.e. can I wear it to a beach or take it to a ballroom)? There are alot of factors when putting together any look. My advice would be to buy demos, go to different venues where people congregate and take note of the type of location (like a casual dance club vs. an adult club) and pay attention to what is generally the norm for those places. And yes it's perfectly fine to set your own trends too if you're the type to venture into places where some looks really stand out but aren't overly offensive. Also, have you considered maybe looking into some places inworld that might give you insight like, modeling agencies or fashioni groups? You don't even need to become a model, but there might be some great advice or ideas you could use real time from atleast going directly to places that cater to fashion and looks in SL, just a thought. Blogs are great too, but inworld you have more of a chance first hand to see and collaborate what you're look for too.
  20. You might be having a conflicting cache issue (especially if you have several viewers installed). I recently updated FS without the prescribed clean install (I know I'm a bad :smileylol: ) and when launching the viewer it would freeze on Initializing DFS or on Clearing Texture Cache. Short solution, I went into User>>AppData>>Local>>FirestormOS_x64>>texturecache and deleted ALL the contents of only the texturecache folder. Do the same thing for the Official LL viewer which is listed as Second Life in the same path directory. It was a little slow initially but then went through. Otherwise I would suggest a clean uninstall/install on all viewers if you have not done so.
