  1. No you were not. You went to the "other" SL grid which is for development and testing purposes. Every SL resident can go there and upload textures, sounds, animations etc there for free, for testing. http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Preview_Grid The Linden balance you see is completely nominal, it's play money basically. You can not take the Lindens nor anything you make in the Beta grid, also sometimes called Aditi, back into SL proper (also called Agni), any changes you make to objects you already own, will not carry over either.

How in any way could my asking someone, "Wut?" in reply to a nonsensical post be considered a violation of anything? ...Dres Wut? ....Drake Wut? (joins Drake in waiting for the moderator's sword)
  3. The particle rainbow is a half-circle - I think your prim is turned 90 degrees and the rest of the rainbow is underground.
  4. Hi Melora, If I have understood correctly, one texture, perhaps cloth, appears to be applied to the seat and backrest, and another, maybe metal, to the legs and the piping. If you wanted the seat and backrest to have a different texture, perhaps it would be possible to make a texture that included both textures in it, e.g. half very worn seat and only slightly worn backrest. Should you have the texture maps for the mesh chair, that may be fairly easy to do. Otherwise it looks as if you are stuck with finding textures that work well for both faces... Maybe someone else here knows of another solution?
  5. I've been tearing my hair out and spending a ton of lindens constantly trying different uploads over it. ANy help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Did you know that you can use the BETA grid for testing your meshes for free before uploading for real Lindens?
  6. Oh I like this - what a nice end to this thread And Phil, I want absolutely everything of yours - and how nice of you to offer the same to all the SL Emmas - only kidding hahaha. Actually there's absolutely no need to compensate me for anything but it's nice of you to offer. Thank you!
  7. Oh I am really sorry... I never meant to start this... just to appreciate the generosity shown by Phaze Demesnes' creators. If only I'd been clearer...

Perrie Juran wrote: Phil Deakins wrote: I've never heard of Phaze Demesnes but it sounds like they sell stuff and, if that's the case, then imo it's really bad that they are offering the stuff for free. It might be good for those who pick up the free stuff but it stabs those who bought stuff recently in the back. Of course, they could refund those recent purchases - say those in the last month or so - but, unless they do something like that, then it's really bad, imo. No they didn't sell stuffs. Their quirky creations have been available for free for many years. And their SIM was a fun place to visit for a laugh. So I'd suggest you stuff this kind of comment and find something out before saying something like this. And even if they'd been selling their stuff I'd still say you were wrong. You don't know what precipitated the closing. So it could be a very nice gesture for them to make available for free the rest of their creations to anyone who had bought from them. Phaze also maintained a repository of scripts free for people to use. Some of them are outdated now because LL introduces better functions. But there are a few I still use. They work extremely well. Yeah, you pissed me off here slamming two people who have actually contributed a lot to SL with out knowing what you were talking about. IMHO. ETA, Yes, I'm saddened to here they are closing. And I wish them both well. You got there before me Perrie. Yes a great place, an enormously generous couple of people - I shouldn't have assumed people had heard of them, their sim and the script repository.
  9. I am really sad Phaze Demesnes is closing - today I think. Another SL great bites the dust... It's very generous of Ferd Frederix and Wavingirlsav Voom to make their creations available for free... I wish there was an SL repositiory for all their wonderful creations - such a shame they will be lost. Best wishes to Ferd and Wavingirlsav in their new ventures!
  10. Yes Deliza. I find it best if there is anything NOT belonging to me in the surrounding area to enable "Select only my objects". Then click somewhere, select "Edit" and holding your left mouse button down, draw a "box" with the cursor - you'll see a yellow outline - all around your items. When everything appears highlighted - with blue or yellow outlines, let go of the left mouse button, rightclick and select "Take". You will see one item in your inventory which looks like a pile of boxes with the name of the last selected item as the object name. To rezz out this "coagulated" object, click somewhere, select "Edit" then drag the "coagulated" object out of your inventory to the ground - as you are already in edit mode, you can control all the items in their proper positions and place them where you want. It might be an idea to have a practice run first with a few boxes. If your items are modifiable, you can place a rezzer script in each of them and put them all into a rezz box. One of these systems is called Builders Buddy. I am not sure but I think there may be a rezzer system for non-modifiable items... Here's a link to a previous question on this topic - http://community.secondlife.com/t5/Technical/How-do-I-select-multiple-objects-that-belong-to-me/qaq-p/786179
  11. Just wondering if you added someone else as a member of the group as well? As far as I know you need a minimum of 2 in the group for it to become "official".
  12. nPose is a non-poseball menu system for animations (and more) - the most current version will be available for free on Marketplace. There is an active and very helpful inworld group and classes being held to "learn: the system - although it's possible to work out from the demos supplied with the system what to do, if you have a little experience of setting up animations already.
  13. Hi Everyone! Doing a reply to myself to respond to you all. Thank you for your participation:) @ Alwin: I thought with it all being Second Life maybe that wouldn't be necessary - so tempting to just save passwords. @ Amethyst: I'm sure it used to work that way for me too! @ Perrie: YES!! and wow that thread - maybe this is meant to make it more secure now @ Madelaine: Hmmm wonder how long ago I disabled 3rd party cookies - not worth having them back tho! @ Coby: That's is odd! I It never worked for me in the first place though when I was logged into Dashboard... @ Perrie: wow that thread - maybe this is meant to make it more secure now?? @ Cheri: DO you happen to know whether you have 3rd party cookies disabled?
  14. What's up with this?? Go to transactions page in dashboard - log in immediately after Go to Marketplace - log in again immediately after go to Forum - log in yet again ARGGGGGGGHHHHH! Makes me want to save my password on the computer - and that isn't safe!!
  15. You're right, Tari. I used to like to see "all" of the posts and had recently posted selected for that purpose - gave me all the lng-running threads and their updates plus newly posted. I enjoyed reading the forum like that, found it more interesting and kept me in touch with threads that became epic. But the endless micro-listings of each hourly event in some club or another or listing each parcel on offer by some land baron put me off. It became harder and harder to spot the stuff I atually wanted to see. The stuff that makes SL a community... Now I bookmark the threads I want to keep reading and stick to reading each forum. Yes, Beethros, the forum certainly has become less of a pleasure to read now.
  16. Bobbie Faulds wrote: Had that happen a couple of days ago with an alt...she didn't have a shape on...rolls her eyes...added a shape and she was there. Check the Current Outfit tab in your inventory and be sure you are wearing a shape and a skin...can't rez without them. To stop being a cloud, in addition you also need eyes and eyebrows (also called bald or hair base). Good luck! Emma
  17. Hi:) How disappointing for you when you just got this lovely home. I'm not sure I can help - but I did wonder whether you're trying to rezz the home on uneven ground? This would make some parts of the structure misalign... Try lifting the rezzer box above the ground to see if that helps. If that is the issue, one thing you could do is make a hole where the house would sit and build up the terrain around it. Good luck! Emma
  18. Thanks Innula. Most of the objects in the shop are copy buy instead of in a box - but you've reminded me that there are some that are boxed and need the scripts inside the object. Emma
  19. Thank you Qie - that was a useful link Emma Qie Niangao wrote: Emma Krokus wrote: I heard somewhere that mono scripts which are the same, share resources... is that true? Or am I starting a lagfest? Kind of. The bytecode is shared for all copies of the same already-compiled script in the same sim. Note it's just the bytecode, not the memory used for state, and if a script ever gets recompiled, it no longer shares bytecode with the other copies. I don't know how many objects you'll have for sale there, but this email functionality is a really tiny script, triggered by a single relatively rare event, so the per-instance resource demand should be minuscule anyway. One note, however, is that every script causes the sim to use a barely measurable bit of time just for the scheduler to decide there's nothing for that script to do. Usually thousands of these will have no effect on performance, not even of other scripts, but it's just a factor that's independent of memory or "real" script lag when dealing with truly vast numbers of scripts.
  20. Thank you very much, Qie, Ron and Innula. Shame there isn't a function that recognises a prim copy buy. Think I'll go with the CHANGED_OWNER suggestion and making the script delete itself after emailing me. Just one more little question before I go dropping scripts in every saleable prim in my shop and cause massive lag: I heard somewhere that mono scripts which are the same, share resources... is that true? Or am I starting a lagfest? Emma
  21. I've looked at some past scripts, tried the Wiki but still have not found something that would do the following: send me an email when an item is sold - set simply to click action BUY and the price set on the prim itself. I'd prefer not have a script that sets a price. Could someone help me identify the right function please? Or an alternative if buying in that way can't be picked up by a script command. Thank you!
  22. Combine with a rezzer script plus a timer to rezz the object after an interval - should be fun Emma /me loves exploding things
  23. Thanks for the heads up, Phoebe. I guess I am one of the lucky ones - I sure hope not too many are affected and the bulk editing works for people.
