  1. Yes it happens very fast, not instantly, but usually within an hour, at least in my experiences in wining auctions.

  3. Not sure why anyone wants to look exactly like an advert, or like 100 other people. Me and my bf were talking about this. He has the Aestetic body, so hes a clone of a thousand other guys. But i'm unique. I doubt anyone else in SL looks quite like me. I still have the original face slider setting on my system head which i got as a day old noob, but that's so long ago I doubt anyone else still uses it, Even if they did, my rather unusual skin choice will assure i look different from the others. I'm wearing a pink fantasy skin that is no longer sold, but it just look very pale. "Normal skin" is usually some shade of beige. The skin was a system skin for my head, with a Maitreya applier for my body. My body sliders i tweaked to what i think makes my Maitreya body look perfect, to me anyway. Add in my applier body freckles, and I'm totally unique.

  5. I rezzed a toob floatie the other day and floated across a bunch of sims with out any problems. Plus if you are lucky some hot guy on a yacht will sail by and offer u a lift.
  6. You look great, but please tell me you at least have mesh feet, those system feet make me cringe whenever i see them .
  7. Skins still need to be for system avatars as well as come with appliers, because i personally wear the system skin for my non-mesh head, then use the applier to add the skin to my mesh body. Skin makers not offering a system avi version will lose a large group of potential customers.
  8. The worst sims are the ones that allow vertical land walls between parcels. I remember one that was all 4096 sq m parcels, and a land wall around each one. I can derender a prim screen, I can't do anything about land walls, except not live there.

  10. And another thing, when you rent mainland you have to wait days or weeks before the parcel owner shows up to give you any rights by inviting you to a group. If you rent land, you want to be able to do stuff right now, not a week from Tuesday when the land owner finally shows up in world. "Buying" land on an estate gives you all the powers instantly. If owning land on mainland is terrible compared to an estate, then renting is 10 times worse.

I've seen mainland rentals where the land is still set for sale, If i wanted to, i could have bought it and immediately kicked the renter out. Mainland landlords often have hundreds or thousands of parcels they rent out. That means their parcel specific groups would have to be spread out over dozens of alts. Its really not necessary to have parcel specific groups, just a renters group, because, I suspect most mainland renters don't even know or care about the powers they don't have, they just want cheap prims. If they did care, they'd rent on an estate.

And yet... there's guys with a partner and a declaration of undying love and affection to their one and only, totally committed to, sexually exclusive wife, constantly showing up at the escort sim I work at, looking for sex. I always say "Hi there, there looking for a present to bring home for the wife?" One married guy that said he was too poor to pay my rates, I told him his wife needs to give him a bigger allowance.
  14. Tier for my 4096 sq m on mainland is close the the same as rent for a 4096 sq m on an estate. Plus on mainland i can incorporate my free 512 sq m into it so in fact I can have a 4608 sq m compared to a 4096 sq m Renting on an estate gives you full parcel ownership rights because your name is on the parcel as owner, Renting on mainland gives you only limited renters rights, because the person you are renting from is still the parcel owner.
  15. There is so much confusion between renting and owning land. If your name shows in the ownership line in the about land tab, you own it. Owning it means you have to pay either rent to an estate owner or tier to Linden Lab. If i own a mainland parcel, i have to pay tier to Linden Lab. If i own an estate parcel, i have to pay rent to the estate owner. As you say, non premium members can't own mainland, they can only pay rent for mainland, but with far fewer rights than if they rented (owned) a parcel on an estate.

  17. Please post the name of your club when it opens so i can be sure to never go there. Avatars by themselves cause lag, nothing useful will be served by having bots all over your club. Seriously, no one will want to come to your club and hang out with bots, it would be much better if u can advertise and get real live people p.s In answer to your question, yes it's all possible.
  18. A friend of mine has some contraption that pays you $0.1 L for correctly answering a trivia question. But after answering two in a row correctly it warned me that my hourly limit for winning is $ 3 L So if i answer 30 questions correctly I'll have to wait till the start of the next hour to win more Talligurl is right, the easiest way to make money is pole dancing. However if you are willing to text escort, you can make around $2000 L per hour actually spent with clients. Regulars are the key.
  19. The last thing I want to live beside on mainland is an active club. They can easily max out sim access, especially if they do the usual trick of having 20 avis parked up in the sky somewhere to boost traffic. But, since the OP will BE the problem everyone else should avoid, its not a problem for him.
  20. If hes not being facetious, what hes saying makes perfect sense. Parcels rent out per sq meter, but that also means there is a per prim price for a parcel of any given size. I often tell people looking to rent that if all they are considering is cost, try mainland because the per prim price is far cheaper there than on an estate for the same size parcel. Of course you get far less rights since you aren't "owner" but some people don't care
  21. Not $1 L per sq meter, $1 L per parcel, just like the private estate owners offer. Under my plan you could buy a 4096 sq m for $1 L. If you get tired of it or just don't want to pay the tier anymore, you abandon it because you only spent $1 L to buy it. Then LL list it for sale again at $1 L That will destroy much of the the market for land speculators.

Now that i think about it, if Linden Lab wants to reduce abandoned mainland, they should go thru all of the mainland, subdivide the abandoned land into lots of various tier sizes, and list it for sale at $1 L per parcel. I'm sure many many premium account holders would be willing to buy mainland parcels with such an offer. It might even induce more people to go premium to get a $1 L mainland parcel. And if land flippers buy it all up, who cares? LL will still collect tier from the flippers as they try to unload all the land they scooped up.
  23. You can submit a support ticket and have any parcel you are interested in put up for auction. I've done it several times. If its not a desirable parcel, you can get it for the opening bid of $0.5 L per sq m. If it is desirable be prepared to bid as much as you are wiling to pay, because if you don't a flipper will buy it and offer to sell it to you at an inflated price. I always decline and simple look elsewhere for a parcel to buy. I currently have a long narrow 4096 beside a full sim a friend of mine owns, i got it for the opening bid price. There is a 512 between me and a mainland road, and if the owner ever shows up I will make a generous offer to buy it from him.
  24. Its empty because only premium members can own land there, plus like you say estates are way safer. If there's trouble, your landlord will take care of it pronto. I moved once because a person with a 512 ran some sort of noob visitor center and often maxxed out the sim with visitors to his place. I should have known there was a reason the price was so low for Zindra. On a private estate you don't have to worry about things like someone having a giant brick building covering 100% of the parcel, right up to your property line. I did that one time on mainland, and the person beside me whined and said she was gonna tell one of Lindens on me (all the whiners seem to be best friends with one of the Lindens). A friend of hers then pointed out that i wasn't breaking any rules. Next thing I knew a land flipper was offering to sell me the parcel for probably 5 times what he had just paid for it. I politely declined. I lived most of my second life on private estates, but i vastly prefer mainland, if for no other reason than i get billed once a month to my credit card for my tier.
