And whats wrong with a plan to make even more profit? No one will be forced to move to mainland but I'm sure many people would jump at the chance to buy a mainland parcel on the same terms that they buy an estate parcel.

I'm not trying to make this a mainland vs estate debate, all I'm wondering is why LL doesn't do something to try and make each mainland sim revenue neutral or profitable instead of so many being a deficit on the budget. Mainland will always be large patches of abandoned land that cost money for LL until LL tries a new approach

Ok, the tier of a full sim on mainland is 195 dollars of which an unknown amount is profit after all the expenses of hosting the sim and running LL are deducted. Ungrandfathered / non buy down estate sims net LL an additional profit of 100 dollars a month. But what about the goldmine they are sitting on? I refer to all that abandoned mainland. Tier on a 1/16 sim parcel (4096 sq m) is 25 dollars a month. If 8 such parcels are occupied, that bring in the equivalent of rent for a full sim. But if all 16 parcels are rented, the tier for that sim becomes 400 dollars a month of which 200 dollars is pure profit over the normal profit. Why oh why doesn't LL subdivide all of mainland, and offer it for sale at 1 L a parcel, just like estates do. Even a partial migration back to mainland would greatly increase LL's income from land tier. I'm sure many more people would love to live on mainland if only it wasn't so difficult to obtain land with paying land gouger prices. Just my thoughts, even though i'm sure they will be ridiculed, shot down, dismissed, and torn apart. *shrugs*

You can have payment info on file and not be premium. LL will take your money regardless of your premium membership status

Its not so much about premium vs non premium, its more about who has payment info on file. Some guy walks into an escort sim, and I see they have no payment info, and I think uh oh, another time waster. Sometimes I'm wrong, but not often.

If they manage to pay for things they are still contributing. Its possible to contribute to the economy without ever buying or selling Lindens, because someone had to buy the Lindens that you receive and spend on others. I guess I'm referring to the 10 year old guy that still has on his noob clothes and a freenis who brags how he's never bought anything in here and mocks those that do. If anyone takes money out of second life, its because someone else put money into second life in the first place. Its called contributing to the second life economy, something freeloaders DON'T do If LL banned cashing out, second life would die in weeks.

Many of those ban lines might be because residents of moderate sims are forced to exclude drop ins if they have any adult rated items on their property

You contradicted yourself at the end. The article says you must ensure adult activities are hidden on a moderate sim, and are FORBIDDEN on a general sim. It doesn't matter if you can't see the avatars doing the nasty, doesn't matter if its a skybox 4000 m up in the air. Any Adult activity is FORBIDDEN on a general sim, anywhere.

Well of course, people get away with it all the time. I stated this thread because someone insisted that sex beds on private property in G sims were permitted. I said they weren't, he insisted I didn't read the ratings properly. Not sure how anyone can misunderstand "not allowed" *shrugs*

I quoted that to someone but he said "oh it doesn't apply to me in the privacy of my own house"

Are items that depict graphic adult activities (ie sex beds) allowed anywhere on a General rated sim, specifically indoors on someones private, locked down parcel? I've read the land ratings and it seems to me such things aren't allowed, but what do I know?
