  1. Before I had land, I used to go to the water --- though I'd go as far from actual land as I could get.
  2. Under the Content Type, there still seems to be no way to restrict the Blogs to a subset of the categories they have their. It looks like you can only filter for sub-forums. (edited to add a pic)
  3. If it cannot distinguish between the two, then the forum creators need some better programmers. I'd volunteer, but programming forums just doesn't sound that exciting. Oh well, I guess it is better than the constant spam
  4. I go the message shown below when I tried to reply in a post. However, I had not submitted a reply to anything else in a few minutes. I did, just before that, send someone a message. Is sending a message to someone actually supposed to counts towards that time limit?
  5. Since we aren't supposed to advertise anything here, I sent you a message.
  6. I often see stuff in the Role Playing sub-forum that is mentioning positions available, but also discussing the RP sim in general. I'm not sure where the line is for that category. By true forum rules, all advertising of places and employement stuff is supposed to be in the Commerce forum.
  7. I can't figure out how to narrow the blogs at all
  8. It has an expansion button, giving the impression you might get some sort of sub-select, but there is really nothing there.
  9. The first time I change the Content Type, I didn't even notice the 'Apply Changes' and couldn't figure out why it didn't change. There are definitely many things about this 'custom' setup that are not very intuitive or obvious. Such fun, learning a forum all over again.
  10. It would sure be fun if I could get inworld each week for such a gathering, though I don't know if I can manage it.
  11. Personally, to be on the safe side, I would suggest that you always "add to outfit" and then remove the old pieces that you no longer want to wear. Or just go stand at the bottom of an ocean.
  12. I've never made a single $L in SL, though I've spent tons. I am a consumer and love every bit of it. Everyone spends money on entertainment of some sort and for me, SL is entertainment. Most of my family does not understand that, but they think nothing of spending lots of money on types of entertainment that I find boring. To each their own.
  13. I started a new avi - wanted to see what the introductory experience is like these days. Anyway, I ended up at a Freebie place (from the orientation stuff) and at least half of the female clothing was the same stuff that I got as freebies when I started in 2007.
  14. @Phil Deakins - Actually you can modify one. At the top of the list of posts, just click any of the drop-down arrows that are defining some criteria, modify it and you'll then get 'Save' options:
  15. That book looks interesting - might have to give it a try. Thanks.
  16. I would paste the files from the old computer into whatever folder the new computer shows as the one for your chat logs (don't forget to actually go into the sub-folder for your SL name). I wouldn't replace the entire folder as that folder will have more than just chat & IM logs. The chat log is file 'conversation.log'. The IM logs are the ones that end in '.txt' and the file name itself is either a person or group that you had an IM conversation with.
  17. They should go into the same folder location on the new computer that you copied them from, unless you also have a different OS - i.e. it might be different between Windows 7 and Windows 10. Go to Me / Preferences and then the Chat tab, assuming the Singularity viewer is the same setup as the SL Viewer, and pull the location from there - down towards the bottom of the window. For Windows 7 it defaults to something like: C:\Users\<windows-login>\AppData\Roaming\SecondLife. Inside that folder, there will be a sub-folder for your SL login name. Place the conversation.log and all of the various chat txt files in there.
  18. I think this is another version of the username problem - related to Resident display names.
  19. You need to actually log in so that the viewer creates all of the various subfolders that it needs / wants. Then plop your IM files wherever they go.
