  1. You ran a defrag at the same time as a virus scan? I would say that you are possibly lucky that any of your programs work, including your base OS.
  2. Landon Collins wrote: When I log on, my av comes on as a white ellipse, or an oblong egg. Others see me normally -- it's only on my screen. And only with one of my 2 av's; the other is normal. I can't edit appearance either. Thoughts, anyone? If you don't have an Advanced menu, first press Ctrl+Alt+D to enable that menu. Then select Character > character tests > female/male to force yourself back to the default character. If this rezzes you okay, then re-wear/attach your shape/skin/hair/clothes/etc...
  3. After changing the L$ to US$, you Account will show a USD$ balance. On your dashboard, left side, under "Linden Exchange", click on Manage and then click the "process credit" link to have the money sent to your paypal account. BTW - before you get upset about it not showing up right away, most of these transaction are taking 3-10 business days to show up in paypal.
  4. Buy a small amount of Lindens and that will trigger the update to your inworld profile.
  5. Check the third party viewer listing: http://viewerdirectory.secondlife.com/
  6. Cinnamon.Lohner wrote: You need to pay attention to your Transaction History a little more closely as well.This. I have little sympathy for someone that is being charged over and over and doesn't realize it. You are responsible for you own SL and that includes the groups that you voluntarily join. BTW - Just because you are an owner in a group does not mean you may not incur charges. The owners "always" have the 'pay liabilities' ability and if the group is set to Search, then you will get charged.
  7. Check your Trash - many deliveries when you are in Busy mode get sent directly to the trash.
  8. Since you have manually cleared cache, try giving it a different region for the log in -- try Corra as it is just a water sim, so no activity going on. To log in to a specific region, type the name in the box that usually says "my home" or "last location" for logging in. If you do not have that box, Edit Preferences and on the General tab check the box that says something about listing that option up near the top.
  9. Hmmm, if the search is broken in Viewer 2 you might want to log in with the 1.23 viewer long enough to find some land. Often, looking at Land Sales in Search is the best cuz you can restrict it to Mainland and to the rating type you want. You can also restrict it to >= a certain size and/or <= a certain L$. And you can sort the entries by L$/m, L$, area, and type. Alternatively, you can call up the map and have it show you land for sale -- all the yellow areas -- but that way can be hard unless you at least have a general area you wish to look at. Also, see if the links on this page work and are helpful: http://land-answers.wiki.zoho.com/ ETA -- Most of the links on this wiki page seem to be working: http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Category:Help/Land And here are some tutorials that might be helpful and hopefully work: http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Video_Tutorials/More#LAND
  10. First off, the land must actually be DEEDED to the group (not just set to group) in order for other donations to apply. Then if people remove their donations to a point where the group does not have enough to cover the land, you have roughly 24-48 hours to rectify the problem or the land will be taken by LL. Nobody is ever billed because of a shortage, so nobody will get any surprise billing. Where the 'pay liabilities' role comes in is if the land is listed in search, the weekly L$30 will be taken evenly from everyone with that role and if you sell all or part of the land, the proceeds will be given equally to all with that role. Also, a group gets a 10% bonus on tier, so if the donations total 2048, the group can actually own 2252m of land. Looked at the other way, if the group owns 2048m of land, the group needs a total of 1862m of tier donations.
  11. You can download the Rainbow viewer if you want to give it a try: http://my.opera.com/boylane/blog/the-final-final-rainbow-viewers
  12. When you finally get your account back, only do L$ transactions with trusted entities -- those that use the LL Exchange Risk API. You can find a list of valid third party exchange sites in the wiki: http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/L$_Marketplace
  13. Pull up your list of groups, click on the one you want to leave and to the right there should be a "leave group" option -- at least that is how it is in the 1.23 viewer.
  14. Under the Advanced menu (if named differently in Viewer 2, I have not a clue) - go to Debug Settings and type in and YawFromMousePosition set that to 0
  15. Sonya Bigboots wrote: I think I agree with everything you have said Suella. I don't like it myself when you buy an outfit but can't modify the prim accessories to fit your own body shape. I myself am less likely to buy no-mod items becasue I know they will probably not fit me right. I even want modify ability on the system clothing - especially on the glitch pants to a skirt.
  16. Linda Brynner wrote: Users of some 3rd party viewers (even accepted by Linden Lab) can show that info. The users of such viewers can even see where you are, what your avatar key is and much more. None of the viewers can "see where you are" unless you are in the same sim, or possibly within a certain distance in an adjacent sim -- and I can do the same thing with a script, so that is no big deal in my mind. And absolutely everybody can see your avatar key by simply looking at your profile. *rolls eyes*
  17. Another thing you can try is to log in with a different viewer -- either a different LL version or one of the third party viewers.
  18. Per the Wiki: http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Private_Region the charge to move is $150 "There is a $150 charge to move a Private Region. This fee is charged per Private Region, for any movement." From everything I could find while searching, your monthly tier will stay at the grandfathered rate and not go up just because of a move request.
  19. Did you try to create a new folder in your inventory and then move the individual items from the one outside the inventory into the new folder? Possible that that will crash you also, but worth a try. At least then, you have the items and it does not matter too much about the extra folder hanging out there.
  20. Actually, even though viewers like Phoenix are based on the 1.xx code, that really just means they have kept the 1.xx interface. Phoenix does have the additional clothing layers and the alpha layer so your clothes/shoes/etc... will be correct. If you want to try it, simply download, install, and log in -- it will not impact your viewer 2 install at all and you can always go back to the viewer 2. Here is the download link: http://viewerdirectory.secondlife.com/listing/show/listing_id/209 For the feet/floor issues, sometimes changing the floor to phantom and back will fix it. Also, sitting on something and then standing back up usually works. Sorry I don't have a better solution.
  21. Sephy McCaw wrote: I have checked every where on the wiki and all of LLs information areas and i haven't found anything that says it should affect this height. does any one know if it would? Yes - specifically because of the reason provided by Conlaoch. The first thing the TP checks is the regions/sim/parcel settings -- public access, ban/access lists, etc....
  22. You will get L$300 paid every Tuesday. The sign up bonus will be paid 45 days after the date you went premium.
  23. LadyGhost Dreamscape wrote: it did the same for two different people....if they were using a different viewer....would that make a difference...although one is the viewer two from SL.... The viewer they are using would not matter, but your viewer might -- you could download one of the other viewers and see if that makes a difference: http://viewerdirectory.secondlife.com/ The server version might also matter, not sure on that one - if so, it might be related to the recent server rollout. If that has not been rolled out everywhere yet, you could find a sim on the older server version and see if that makes a difference.
  24. She is trying to pay a Person, not an Object.
  25. To get 4218 prims, you need 18459m of land -- assuming my math is correct. The 16184 tier level + the free 512m that comes with a premium account + 1689 for the 10% bonus that a group gets, would allow you 18585m of land, which is enough to cover your prim desire - that amount of land would actually give you 4246 prims. So check on the tier cost for the 16184 tier level and add in the cost of premium membership (cheapest is to pay yearly) and then subtract out roughly $57, which is the US $ equiv. of the L$300 weekly stipend. That will give you the cost of mainland, not counting the actual 'buy the land' cost. Compare that against what renting on a private island will cost you.
