Personally, I think this is very admirable goal and one I likely couldn't manage - at least at my RL work.

I use to do database administration for a police department. I once ran a password cracker utility against the database and discovered that a large percentage of the users had passwords of either adam12 or harley1. They had always resisted (and won) the arguements for password rules until I showed those results to the top folks.

I thought it was great. There should be a large display about this, with a link, at the area where the new avatars come inworld. If it is there, then it is not very prominent because a few weeks ago I brought a new avi online and never saw anything. I think it is something SL should promote, though I swear I have never heard of it in all my years here. In any case, I loved getting some of the history, being reminded of some of the things from when I first came inworld, and also catching up on some of the big strides in the last few years. I never knew folks used to have to pay to teleport and had to do it from huge hubs (cannot even imagine); I had totally forgotten about the Teen Grid; I had wondered about the change from Burning Life to Burn2. I've grabbed an LM for the place and will offer it to newbies along with other misc newcomer stuff I give out. Thanks again.

Yes, it is legit. You can either click the link or just log into your account page and click on 'Change email address'. If you've already verified, it will show it next to your email address, otherwise click Verify. If you do not, then you will, at some point, stop getting messages sent to your email -- if you have that enabled.

Major yikes - but thanks for the 'fix' in case I ever do that. I do sometimes click around so fast in inventory that anything is possible.

This sounds awesome. I didn't come to SL until 2007, but then I've been mostly gone the last 5 years. This should provide a cool catch-up.

Usually, with regular pictures, after it is inserted into the message, you can click on the pic and it will select it and give you the sizing nodes. Not totally sure if this works for video links. Also, I say 'usually' because I have had times where no matter what it would not let me resize the pic.

And personally, I think we should be able to do those kinds of links. I still don't understand what is and is not allowed because I do see posts that give merchant names and not all of them get removed.

You know, we topped $1 billion in sales in the first 10 months of last year and that gave the state over $150 million in tax money. I don't care who wants to smoke it and I am all for anything that *might* keep the state from asking for more tax hikes.
