  1. Holy crap, there is no way in hell that I would want to see the chat coming from possibly every person logged into SL -- not even half of them. We have enough problems with group chat lag. I can only imagine how bad it would be for all of SL to basically be in one chat group. Good luck with that. Let us know how it turns out for you.
  2. That statement is not true. With Salt you could get any size THAT EXISTS -- i.e. any size that was made back in the time period when the system glitch allowed folks to make the megaprims. If nobody thought 190x190 would be useful then likely nobody made one in that size. That is why your SALT HUD is not responding -- not because it is broke but because that size does not exist.
  3. The Salt HUD is working fine - I just used it - but you do have to request a size that was actually made by someone way back then and I'm pretty sure that 190x190 was never a size that was available. The Salt stuff is not creating new megaprims to give out, it is simply sending you a copy of an existing megaprim and back in the day they were only made in certain sizes. I even have some boxes of megaprims and I don't see anything that is 190x190 in there.
  4. I actually have a RL Photobucket account that I set up a long time ago - haven't touched it in forever. Thanks - saved me the googling that I was going to be doing. All I really care about is the storage. The primary reason I was Pro on Flickr way back was for the increase in the number of albums I could create and the number of photos I could upload. I don't remember why I renewed it as Pro. I do still have all of my photos on my computer, organized in folders matching my Flickr albums, so I won't need to download them all. Still, changing sites is a PITA. However, even though I haven't posted a semi-nude shot in a decade, I'll be changing just on principle - I don't like places that restrict things like that. They should just create a setting like Flickr has that marks your stuff as adult.
  5. I use Firestorm and I get the sit option. Some say "sit down" and others say "sit here", but I get it clicking on my hair, my outfit, and even my body.
  6. The one thing I always save and wish that I actually had for every item of clothing, shoes, hair (basically anything I can wear), is the ad texture. I can look at the texture much faster than wear an item to see if I want it right now. For some of my staple items - tank tops, corsets, bodysuits - if they don't have a picture, then I take my own and save it on my computer. Primarily, this is because there just are not enough characters allowed to adequately describe many items.
  7. I have the link to my Flickr account there
  8. Yep, adding another premium can actually let you hold more land at less cost. If you are good about saving the L$ stipend and selling it at the end of the year, at L$300 per week, you can get the true annual cost of a premium account down to roughly $12/yr for 1024 sqm of land fees. So, every premium will give you another 1024 sqm for $12/yr. Additionally, if the tier is all donated to a group, the group gets a 10% bonus. For smaller amounts, that bonus doesn't always help, unless you happen to find some slightly odd size parcels, but with larger land amounts, that bonus can definitely help.
  9. The email says that after May 25th, the account will be governed by SmugMug's Terms and such. That is what has me wondering about pricing changes and when they might happen. The wording in the FAQ claims that the Flickr stuff will stay the same, but I'm not so sure I believe that to hold true for very long. Email wording: "We think you are going to love Flickr under SmugMug ownership, but you can choose to not have your Flickr account and data transferred to SmugMug until May 25, 2018. If you want to keep your Flickr account and data from being transferred, you must go to your Flickr account to download the photos and videos you want to keep, then delete your account from your Account Settings by May 25, 2018. If you do not delete your account by May 25, 2018, your Flickr account and data will transfer to SmugMug and will be governed by SmugMug’s Terms and Privacy Policy."
  10. For anyone that has considered joining the WoW Skins group in the past but hadn't due to group join fee, I got a notice today that the join fee is set to L$1 for today only - and the entire store is also marked down 45% for the weekend.
  11. Thanks Artic. That does correlate with how we had been interpreting things around here - at least until this thread when things started seeming a bit muddled.
  12. I really just want to go wander around checking out the builds. I figure I'll wait until the last couple of days and then go do that. I have no tolerance for crowds, in RL or SL. For some reason, the more crowded a place gets, the more stupid people get.
  13. Many of us use Flickr for sharing our SL photos, so I thought this was worthy of a few words. I just got an email informing me that Flickr is being acquired by SmugMug. I had just renewed my Pro account for two years last month - at a price of $44.95 for 2 years. I went and looked at SmugMug's packages and the pricing is a huge increase over Flickr. The cheapest plan (which is all I really need), billed annually, will still cost more than double what I just paid Flickr for those 2 years. No info yet on conversion of current account plans to SmugMug's. I imagine they will convert us to the 'Basic' plan, but not sure if they'll honor the 2 year term that I just paid Flickr for. And it doesn't look like there is a Free plan at all. Here is the pricing for SmugMug and the link to get the details on those plans: https://www.smugmug.com/plans For those folks that don't use Flickr or those that might shift to something else --- any recommendations on a good photo site?
  14. I will use the month/event naming standard for times when I hit lots of events or hunts very close together and haven't yet sorted things. As has been mentioned by a few folks, inventory organization is a very personal thing. You have to come up with a method that will work for how you want to access your invenotry. For primary inventory stuff, I use the exclamation point followed by one or more spaces for my main folder naming - I use multiple spaces to force a sort order other than alphabetical. Within my main folders, I create folder categories using underscores at the beginning of the folder name, and again I use more/less to force the sort order that I want. Using exclamation on the higher level folders and underscores on the inner category folders makes it easier for me to visually see what I'm messing with.
  15. It is not really good forum etiquette to simply open a new thread with your question slightly worded differently just because you don't like the answers given the first time.
  16. Having never really been an MMO person, I never knew this, but do find it very helpful and easy to use. I did have another Firestorm option checked that I had to untick for this, but I do like this method of movement.
  17. Well, I work from home normally one day a week and will soon be two - and I peruse the forums in the evening. However, if they move me, I'll probably be limited to the first hour or two of my work day when pretty much nobody else is in yet.
  18. I had already read the other thread before I made my comment and I still think you said nothing that deserved a personal insult.
  19. If they are on your friends list, you'll still be able to see the profile in some cases. If the person in question requested that their account be deleted, then after a certain amount of time in won't show in the website, but if you are friends, you can still see it inworld. If the person was Premium and had their account confiscated because of overdue bills, then the web profile will disappear after a certain amount of time, but if you are friends then you'll still see it inworld. In each of those cases, the inworld profile might eventually go away, but I can still see the profile of someone that left SL many years ago and their account billing went in to default. If someone gets permanently banned, then I'm pretty sure that their profile completely disappears from both locations rather quickly.
  20. Well, my forum activity during the work day may be coming to a halt. I currently sit in a fairly isolated area where nobody can really see my screens unless they are actually walking past my cubicle. However, they are consolidating space and moving folks around at the office. Someone in our team recently left and so the boss wants to move me to her cube - closer to everyone else even though I don't really work with most of them. Anyway, in that cube my monitors will be much more visible to people. The person sitting across the aisle and back one cube will pretty much have a direct view to my screens. *sigh*
  21. I see nothing in her posts that is bad enough to warrent you being rude and calling her names.
  22. You can't now. You can only edit a post for 24 hours after creation and that includes the thread title and tagging.
  23. Sadly, even that doesn't always work these days. There are a couple of tiny stores that I like a lot, but the store moves around a bit. Yet even the creator does not always remember to update their own profile.
