  1. If you see a place with an open front door, it often implies the owner has no problem with folks walking around in it. Note that I said "often", not "always."
  2. Nah, my friends like that it's near their place lol Makes the region unique. As we used to say back in The Sims Online, "It's not a bug, it's a feature."
  3. Some friends sent me this. What is this thing? It's just a small box a mole left behind. They had fun sitting on it. Has anyone else seen objects like this in fully released areas?
  4. I don't know if any one makes them, but an attachable train would solve the problem. You know, like a bike. I ride the tracks with my bike all the time, go where I wanna go via the normal movement arrow keys.
  5. I went there and found it very confusing, and was bombarded by annoying and creepy sounds. Somehow I eventually wound up teleported to a casino, where random men with blank profiles kept IMing my teenage alt-avi. Eww. I was using that account because the statues would work on her parcel, but not mine. Is there some other way to get a statue, without going through all this rigamaroll and dealing with creepos?
  6. Finally, adult life: TinderBook photo, and, um, criminal record
  7. If the above is high school, then this is my college yearbook lol Main entry, page 101: Rabid Cheetah Graduating Class of 2014 B.A. in Broadcasting/Minor in Music Student Radio, Students for Peaceful Pixelation, Campus Crusade for Krampus From the Memories section, page 368: Senior Rabid Cheetah enjoys the Tappa Kegga Day Meeroo BBQ
  8. Found one of my oldest profile pics in an archive: Rabid Cheetah Freshman from The Sims Online Junior High Rezzed to Second Life in Summer of 2006 Gaming Club, Debate Team, Poetry Magazine, Art Appreciation Club Voted Class Clown, Number One Heartbreaker, and Coolest Rocker "I'm wise enough to win the world -- a fool enough to loose it"
  9. It all began with some extra bucks I had left over on a software store gift card. I didn't have any games, as I'd always just gone on BBS's to play Tradewars. I'd played Sim City once at a friend's house, so I decided to spend the last bit of money on the gift certificate on a copy of Sim City. This lead to an interest in The Sims when it debuted, which in turn led me to be a beta tester for The Sims online. Eventually I started hearing about new online games emerging, from Star Wars to this Sims Online-ishy virtual world called Second Life. Eventually someone on the Second Life Stratics Forum set up some sort of camera device within Second Life, broadcasting live feeds of the game to a url, which they'd in turn posted as a Sims Online forum topic. We were all very excited about a bridge between our two virtual worlds. Sadly, though, few of us could handle running Second Life on our systems. That changed for me thirteen years ago, when cyber cafes started popping up around Chicago: I found one that had some high-end gaming computers, and created an account. I chose the fury starter avatar, as I used to hang out in Sims Online with folks who were into roleplaying sci-fi/fantasy avatars. "Cheetah" sounded like a good last name; Does anyone else remember scrolling through hundreds of potential last names? I thought about adjectives for cheetahs, a few were already taken, and somehow settled on "Rabid." lol I didn't know what to expect, and wanted to sound tough in case SL was full of griefers. I eventually bought a good basic gaming PC, got more involved by purchasing First Land and building a few things, and even turned a profit when a real state agent showed up wanting to buy my land. I spent most of the early years exploring, making avis and clothes for myself, and hanging out with one of the major (but now long gone) elf/fae groups. And oh yeah: Irie Vibes Reggae Club. 🙂 As time has gone on, I've seen friends come and go, content creation grow increasingly complex, and changes in attitudes of players. I miss the days of creativity and exploring, friendliness, and not judging people by how mesh their boobies are. I came very close to quitting, but am glad I didn't, as Bellesseria has created a Second Life Renaissance.
  10. You're missing the point. Those are my opinions; You have different opinions. Should either of our opinions become the Law of the Land, in the Covenant? Go back and re-read my post for the answer.
  11. Thank you! I just spent a few hours, lost in that site. looking at so many interesting pictures. I might use some of those old illustrations of Rio and say that they're images of Belleserria before it became so pixilated lol
  12. Wowzers! They've really got their sh I mean paint together. I'll have to check them out. Thank you. 🙂
  13. There's a big hill in that region that some folks like to call Schoolhouse Rock. 🙂
  14. OMG the only thing better than your pics are the stories you weave out of them.
  15. Click the image enough times and you should get to the large one.
  16. I'm in a small group of friends that has a trailer (the one with the radio tower) right up against this ridge and footsteps from one of the ponds. Walking that ridge is an absolute delight. Perhaps we'll be there at the same time, in which case I hope my inventory has an apple for your horse.
  17. That is such a cool effect with the flowers/window. Genius. And I love the theme and color scheme, especially the beetle rug. Where did you get it?
  18. I never got to see the pics. 😞 What clique do I have to join to see them? 😄
  19. Don't abandon it. Change the house style as outlined above. If you abandon, it may be a very long time before you caqn snag one again.
  20. Suggesting you God forbid commit suicide is most likely an ARable offense.
  21. Hell, if I were to encounter this person in SL, and they were a $%@#head, having that kinda stuff in their profile would have me hunt you down just to befriend you. 🙂
  22. One other trick that sometimes solves general problems is to log out of SL and restart your viewer. Also, try changing to a different avatar/outfit, then change back to the original.
  23. Sand covering the water: Incredibly tacky -- why is a piece of sand just floating on the water, blocking the boat? Extended pier with a hole in it for a pool: Incredibly tacky -- why would you decrease the size of your natural water, water that can be swum in, like, you know...A POOL? Gignormous 512 m2 boats with 14.999 m masts and full sails: Incredibly tacky -- such a huge boat, taking up so much water, why not live on THAT instead of your houseboat? Oh, wait, then you don't get to block everyone's view. Making use of the Linden Security System in a Houseboat area: Incredibly tacky -- Those piers between our houses are tremendously thin. Your neighbors are going to periodically fall off them, right into your water. These are just my opinions. Are they violations of the current covenant? NO. Should they be made Linden Law? NO -- THEY'RE JUST MY OPINIONS. Don't we already have ANOTHER thread about some group that considers themselves the self-appointed Bellesseria Content Police? Well, $#@%, we do. I think the covenant is fine as it is. So much of this is a matter of personal taste. One person's trash is another person's art.
