  1. Thank you for the heads up on Spiderwood! That camper is: - Near a friend's camper in Soggy Shores - Adjacent to a changeover/road with trads - Adjacent to a series of connected parks at the edges of Spiderwood and Ebbe Tide What's on the other side of the parks, immediately adjacent to them? My main's HB and the next-door-neighbor friend who happened to snag an adjacent HB. So snagging THIS parcel with my alt was a no-brainer and a piece of cake at 3 AM SLT. Glad I checked the forums. Thanks, Aunt Chloe! (My alt is rp'ed as being the same age as my main account, which just turned 14 recently, so she tends to call friendly adults aunt and uncle even if not related.) As to what's left, well, I don't have a way to check now that I snagged Spiderwood, so there may still be another camper in Whackamole. I didn't see any trads or vics. Did see a cabin, probable what I gave up in Weaver's Somethingandother (already forgot the region name, hee hee!) Still don't know what I'll do with the 512 m2 I just got back from switching from cabin to camper. Thanks again! πŸ™‚
  2. I don't even know what "adding materials" means. I just do old-fashioned prim stuff, like we did 14 years ago, or rez a bought object/vehicle.
  3. I'm a big fan of budget decorating, as well as low prim count per object. Functionality is also a big plus -- for example, I'd rather put out a L$ 200 10 prim art easel that folks can actually use via painting animations versus a L$ 50 2 prim easel that's just a decoration for photographs. My inventory is clogged with 14 years worth of freebies and low cost items, to the point that I feel like that guy in Robocop lol
  4. Ahah! I'll bet that's it. The changed object, while now blasting the Li through the roof, was still older than the other stuff. That would make sense -- well, beyond such a serious design flaw in the SL software being indicative of a dev team that thinks first about the "oh wow gee whiz" of implementing new tech, and not actual user ease and application of the new tech, something I've encountered on countless jobs while acting as a liaison between dev teams and actual users. Ah, the joys of tech support. I'm sure there's some reason why the software HAS TO work this way, but what a headache it can cause for users, such as you and Cobys loosing objects. Wow. All this discussion from just putting up a boat docking sign lol
  5. Of course mesh is causing it. Of course. *sigh* I just had my 14th anniversary of my rez day. This game used to be so simple. So many of the problems with the new and "improved" SL can be traced back to mesh. Pixel snobbery, LOD issues, clothing incompatibility, object resizing issues vis-a-vis prim count, object creation complexity making high-quality items beyond the capabilities of the common user, and now this. The price we pay for pretty. But I digress. It's still odd that older prims are being returned. One would think that the system of LIFO (Last In/First Out) would still be the way that the SL software works when returning prims, and that object manipulations that exceed parcel prim limits would return objects in the first place -- the object in question would revert to the size and Li it had prior to the changes that pushed it over the limit, in the same way that trying to move an object beyond the parcel boundaries results in the software returning the object to it's original position.
  6. That doesn't make any sense. I would have opened a ticket about something like that.
  7. That is very odd, and, as far as I know, not how things are supposed to work. Sounds like a glitch.
  8. HOW DARE YOU POST A PICTURE IN A FORUM ABOUT ARGUING!!!
  9. Thank you for the clarification. That's how I thought it worked. @PrudenceAnton So what made your stuff go poof at Blues Cafe?
  10. Thanks, folks, for the info. OK, so if I've got less than 175 prims of group stuff on an LH parcel, someone enters with an object that pushes the prim count over the limit, auto-return will return the older objects (in terms of when they were placed on the parcel), even if they are owned by the group the land is set to? It wouldn't just zap the new boat or whatever?
  11. @Atalante85 "But also notice some people don't get advice given with genuine intentions and they berate those people instead, which obviously show why some people can't make friends." That is one of the best English sentences I've read on the forums in years. πŸ™‚
  12. So getting back to the OP, no, looks don't influence my friendships. Personality does, which comes from actual conversation. Lookism in real life is bad enough, but to do that in a game? with little cartoon people in it? The absurdity of pixel snobbery would make me laugh if it wasn't so frequent. Now, that said, avi appearance can certainly be an ice-breaker and conversation piece. But even then, it's often from some silly object I'm wearing, like a paddleball that keeps loudly going "pppshhhkkwwwk! pppshhhkkwwwk! pppshhhkkwwwk!" with each hit of the ball, my alt teen girl who's got a crossbow that shoots miniature voodoo dolls of the more popular girls at school, or my all time favorite: A paper bag to wear over your head, that upon clicking bursts into flames with a constant screaming sound effect. Very fun to put that on and then run around frantically asking for someone to give you a glass of water. But even though that's VERY visual, it's the common sense of humor that links me to folks I befriend from my silly stunts. I find out quickly whether they have a sense of humor or not. Also, what WILL cause me to not even bother with trying to engage with someone, isn't their appearance but rather their lack of a profile. Having a blank profile, or nothing but a quote, or even worse an anti-social "f-you for looking here" one, is a red flag, indicating that either the person is so boring that even they can't write a paragraph about themselves, or they don't feel like making such a small effort effort to get to know people. Neither is fun to talk to.
  13. And here I thought the pirate ship place was AleyMart. I don't have the slurl handy, but here's the store: https://marketplace.secondlife.com/stores/161413
  14. I just had my 14 year rez day, and spent a lot of it revisiting very old avis from my first few months in SL. Such a delight to see them in richer detail merely from the vast difference between the computer, graphics card, and monitor I was using back then, versus now. Plus there's a way to use your old clothes with the new bodies, BOM or something like that. Ask the others. So don't dismiss your old stuff. Like someone above said, there's no requirement to update. That said, though, you will notice a cultural shift: The Pixel Snobs succeeded in driving SL culture into being vastly more visually based and picky about appearance than things were a decade ago. I've even seen parcel descriptions that bar entry to anyone wearing Classic avis. Welcome back! I hope you enjoy the new SL.
  15. Yep. I realized that this was turning into a witch-hunt when people started vilifying a particular friendly user I'd actually interacted with in-game, putting me in the middle of it. I felt obligated to come to this person's defense, which just triggered more vitriol. I'm glad @Obi Linden took action.
  16. Bingo. I actually met someone being complained about, as well as interacted with them in other threads, and find them quite nice. Never would have happened if I'd only listened to the complaints in this thread.
  17. Yeah, totally forgot LH's aren't deeded. So used to doing stuff on the Mainland with my friends. So it sounds like visitors will have to have smaller prim-count vessels. Standing up shouldn't be an issue due to the time we give to explore the area: Auto-return is set to three hours. Why three hours? Ask Gilligan lol
  18. OOOOO, good point. I should test this by deliberately dumping test prims on one parcel until it's full, and see if it can still take more prims due to the other parcel having availability.
  19. Found it, it's the Mole Secret Cave πŸ™‚
  20. @Fay Starlight I found the cliff with the Vics, but not the big waterfall, yet. Found a very small waterfall, and a neat open house wink wink. My alt is currently playing your piano lol
  21. I think I've seen the waterfall, but didn't know there is a cave. Or Knapping has an entirely different waterfall.
