Not unless it is some obvious form of intentional griefing, or slops over the land border. How is it griefing to use one's own land in a manner allowed for within SL TOS? Fireworks have been sold on the marketplace for nearly as long as SL has existed, including, according to one fireworks maker, to some Lindens. I'll give up trying to explain that excerpt's subtext, since that's going to be futile. I'm clear as to how that clause is designed to operate. It applies to all aspects of Second Life, not just scheduled events. Perrie has explained it so no need to repeat what he said, and if am reading your comment, "Yes, I know that" correctly, you now agree with this. It's very clear anyway from one of the opening paragraphs in the Community Standards, namely, "All Second Life Community Standards apply to all areas of Second Life, the Second Life Forums, and the Second Life Website." You're perfectly entitled to read whatever subtext you wish into the Disturbing the Peace Community Standard and believe you can do what you want on your own land without it applying. I just don't happen to agree with this interpretation and you more or less demolished your own argument with the proviso "That cannot disturb someone else's peace. Not unless it is some obvious form of intentional griefing, or slops over the land border." Yes, exactly, if it affects neighbours. Anyway, it doesn't really matter what interpretation we put on this CS. Linden Lab will adjudicate if an Abuse Report is submitted citing Disturbing the Peace or indeed any other CS. Linden Lab is the ultimate arbitrator on what any resident can or cannot do in Second Life.

I suggest you stop trying to be a martyr for your cause. Join a nudist group and enjoy your lifestyle with similar minded friends, or buy your own land and make your own rules.

  4. Clear your cache, perhaps it's corrupted. Restart your computer then log in somewhere quiet such as Smith and allow your inventory reload. Failing that clearing the problem, do a Character Test: CTRL+ALT+Q to open the Develop Menu Select Avatar Select Character Test Select Test Female This will reset your avatar to a default library avatar, which very few issues survive, then rebuild your avatar using your own shape, skin, eyes, hair etc. Do it one item at a time to check if the problem returns and if it does, you'll know which item is causing it.

Whether LL will actually take action is another matter. This does not apply to what one does on one's own land. It's about going on someone else's land and disturbing their peace. I don't feel an AR is appropriate in this situation. That's one interpretation but the CS makes no reference to the disturbance having to be on one's own land. If it is inhibiting another Resident's ability to enjoy Second Life, in this case, an immediate neighbour, it's up to Linden Lab to make a judgement call on whether what is happening is a TOS breach or not.

It can take from 5mins to Upton 5 working days, so if you do not get the $L when the card has been accepted it because the transfer is is in a queue. Personally I use a pre paid credit card. Are you sure Steph? I live in Ireland and the last credit card payment LL put through for me in early July was debited in Euro but had a GB at the end of the reference for Great Britain? Been a while since I bought Lindens.

If the password wasn't correct, you couldn't have logged in to change it. You can add comments via Options/Edit. Edit: Ignore. Forgot about 'change password' option as Innula reminded me.
  8. We're residents just like you and can't tell you where your missing items are. Have you checked with the land owner? There is an Inventory Loss Wiki page here: http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Inventory_loss Also, check out coordinates 0.0.0. on the sim, which is where lost items often end up.
  9. Most likely it's a bug that's been around a long time and occurs when a friend has hidden his/her online presence from you. The name disappears entirely from your Dashboard and shows offline in-world. You can add comments via Options/Edit.
  10. The Knowledge Base article on Maturity Ratings http://community.secondlife.com/t5/English-Knowledge-Base/Maturity-ratings/ta-p/700119 is very vague for Moderate, deliberately so I surmise because of grey areas and residents are expected to use discretion and common sense. The old Wiki page was more explicit and probably gives a better idea of Linden Lab's thinking on Moderate areas. Skin vendors showing nude skins are fine but walking around pants-less on the mainland could be inappropriate. Personally, I buy skin demos and go home to try them but often see residents try them in the stores and I wouldn't consider that inappropriate in a skin store and it's highly unlikely LL would either. If they walk out nude into the general mall, yes, that's inappropriate. Photo-realistic nudity is Adult. In many instances, it's up to the land owner to decide what restrictions apply albeit within the overall Maturity Ratings Policy. Is simple nudity without sex Adult? Depending on context, nudity may not require an Adult rating. For example all of the following could be rated Moderate: A nude beach without sexual activity. Skin vendors showing a nude skin to display the product. Nude art that is not sexual. Strip clubs that do not use adult words in search or host sex furniture. Depending on the context, exposed genitalia may not be considered Adult. For example: Hanging out at a nude beach would be fine. Walking around pants-less on the mainland could be inappropriate. Non-sexualized depictions of nudity are Moderate NOT Adult. What about strip clubs? Strip clubs in general are Moderate. However, they are Adult if they: Use adult keywords in listings and in search. Have sex balls and backroom sex areas.
  11. Relax Coby! Not long to wait now it seems...the BBC says just 5 minutes to go! uhmmm, they were wrong :smileyvery-happy: Out now...hope you're looking Coby!

  13. Linden Lab retains copies of chat logs for 14 days on its own servers far as I know so can easily check this. Nobody here has ever heard of RL names or other information suddenly appearing in viewer chat, or understand how it could happen, and many of us have been in SL for 6 years +. Only LL has the means to investigate this matter so if you wish to pursue it, you will have to make out a report but just be aware you will probably find both your account and your friend's on hold until investigated.
  14. You would need to reproduce this while using the LL viewer. Given what I have read about Linden Lab's security measures on protecting RL information, it can't happen. The Lab uses some serious encryption, it's not stored in a way that would suddenly appear unencrypted in a viewer chat window. I suggested earlier you regard this as your account having been compromised, maybe by phishing. Freya raises a good point. How well do you know this friend? PS. I assume you've changed your password, if not, do so.
  15. Try the solutions in this thread. Looks like you just have to change your password. http://community.secondlife.com/t5/Technical/I-get-this-error-An-error-has-occurred-Further-information-is/qaq-p/1563929
  16. No, templates have just one arm so tattoos will appear on both arms. For one arm, you would have to create a cylindrical prim with a tattoo on it, which I've never done but seen mentioned as working quite well.

WolfFeather wrote: I am using the latest version of Firestorm and i have IM'ed the same person today and it did not happen, so i dont know what is going on, either way i think it is something LL should be investigating. Just read your edit about the viewer in question being Firestorm. Linden Lab does not support Third Party Viewers and while it permits their use subject to self-certification of compliance with the Third Party Viewer Policy and TOS, it very firmly places the responsibility of using them on their users and developers. I don't know what went on either but you should take this matter up with Firestorm Support http://www.firestormviewer.org/
  18. This is the photo Albert sent. I suggested a clean install http://community.secondlife.com/t5/English-Knowledge-Base/How-to-uninstall-and-reinstall-Second-Life/ta-p/1375231

  20. I see you sent me a photo in-world but I haven't got it yet as I won't be logging in for a wee while. You can wait and I'll upload it or to upload a photo to Answers yourself, select Options/Edit on your post (as you correctly surmised) then click the little tree icon and follow the selector to upload it.
  21. lol, just made it up! What you suggest may be the cause either although it would have to have survived a character test too but some things do.
  22. A Character Test doesn't fix this...hmmm...very odd. Did you try changing your eyes, shape, skin and bald base individually as distinct from changing them all at once as part of a library av? Please post a photo too as this may help others diagnose this issue.
  23. You're suffering from 'Clint Eastwood Syndrome', a common occurrence after being griefed. However, rest assured you won't stay that way, as if a cache clearance and re-log doesn't cure it, a Character Test (CTRL+ALT+Q for Develop Menu > select Avatar > Character Test > Test male . rebuild your avatar) will. If it doesn't, I suggest sunglasses.
  24. As a Premium member, you have access to Live Chat so best to use it and request a region restart. It should be faster than a support ticket.
