  1. The hairbase/eyebrow shaper contains the slider settings to adjust the system hair. You need to use edit outfit and edit the hairbase. I'm not sure if that is completely the issue since you mentioned trying several hair bases. It might be something else you are wearing. Try ctrl-alt-Q for the developer menu and then choose avatar->character tests->test male/female to revert to a default system avatar.
  2. You are wearing a mesh avatar that is not compatible with other items found in the library and most items found in-world. You need to switch to a system avatar. There should be some in the library.
  3. I couldn't understand a word he was saying. All I could hear was music playing and mumbling.
  4. http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/windows-10-specifications Straight from the horse's mouth.
  5. You and your wife need to drink your pina coladas in the rain and leave us out of it.
  6. Velk, are you an introvert? I'm just asking because what I've learned as an introvert myself is that it's difficult to conduct what I consider 'inane conversation' which is essentially talking with people on shallow, broad, safe and boring topics. These spoken conversations are quite different from how we communicate here on the forums. Unfortunately, it is the way things have to be done when speaking with people. My advice is to listen to that person. I mean really listen to them and converse with them on the topics they bring up however boring it may be to you. Why? Because that is how you engage with people and that is how that other person is trying to engage with you. Start with small talk and eventually transition to a deeper, narrow, and more interesting topic. It's tit for tat, quid pro quo, you have to show that you are listening to them and then they will listen to you. Being blunt is useful to get a point across but it's hardly the way to carry on a conversation.
  7. Velk, so you're saying that SL is being banned not because of content violating the Twitch rules of conduct but because SL is not considered to be 'video gaming related activities' as per the Twitch terms of service? I suppose that's a plausible reason why SL was banned.
  8. The other games listed in the ban have content that is 100% against Twitch's rules of conduct. Second Life's content is something like 90% within the rules and 10% against. (Not sure what the actual ratio would be.) Should the whole of SL be banned because of that? SL isn't even on the list of the ESRB's ratings.
  9. All I want to do is have some fun. I've got a feeling I'm not the only one.
  10. All I'm feeling is schadenfreude and I dont' feel guilty about it. Social media is an incredibly new phenomena and everyone bought into the corporate sponsored idea that being social online is cool. Now, it's just one story after another of how people are getting burned by the lack of privacy and security. I think that eventually people will learn and modify their behavior online. But until then, we can all laugh at them.
  11. I don't really see how one can jump from what Ebbe said to the possibility of the new SL actually being Hi Fidelity. It sounds like he's talking about SL as it currently is where residents can create their own content compared to other platforms where the content is created by a single source (the company).
  12. This is how I feel when people are using voice.
  13. I have seen this Eurovision mentioned in the news before but I honestly never bothered to figure out what it was. Luckily, a news article just popped up! Now I know! http://www.theglobeandmail.com/arts/music/everything-you-wanted-to-know-about-eurovision-but-were-afraid-to-ask/article24564852/
  14. Well, that's interesting. I just saw that Adobe offers Photoshop for 10 bucks a month now. Ive been staying away since they went to a subscription model but the new price looks tempting. Photoshop definitely doesn't need real classes to learn. Google and YouTube offer up a lot of information. People love to give lessons online.
  15. You could also try just getting an anime head and using the system body which will get you all of the standard system clothes and mesh clothes. It really all depends on the particular look you are going after.
  16. They could use a random word generator. I tried one on the web and got, droplet, blankly, brainwasher, virtual, meat and huffy.
  17. I agree that join dates from the current SL shouldn't be in the new one. We will all be newbies in the new SL. I would like keep my SL name though.
  18. I only have one issue with your describing SL as free to play and pay to win. SL is free to play. I agree. It is not pay to win. Pay to win games are games where you must pay to get ahead and actually win. E.g. buying items that make you fast or make your weapons stronger so you can kill your enemy and win a match. If a game offers only cosmetic items, e.g. color your weapon pink, that do not give you a winning advantage, then it is not pay to win. Ergo, SL is not pay to win.
  19. Stay logged in with two avatars in your parcel 24/7 and do nothing. That's what my neighbor does and I totally stopped perving on them. Also, untick the box to see and chat with others blah blah.
  20. Too easy. I'd get mesh clothes. Lots and lots of mesh clothes. Can you possibly spend 50,000 lindens on mesh clothes? Yes.
  21. Maybe the SL clubs could use this for verification that you look old enough...
  22. I'm guessing they will do so with the next SL but not with the current SL. I know that the system avatar uses 512 pixel texture maps each for the head, torso and lower body but I'm not sure what the mesh bodies and faces use. Maybe someone else will answer that. Do we really need 1024 or 2048 pixel maps for a game largely viewed on laptop and desktop screens and not big screen televisions. You also need to consider the streaming nature of SL.
  23. OStuey speaks the truth. Walk thru traffic is good but you should try testing out various forms of advertising. Its just another aspect of virtual business that should be explored.
  24. I think the coalesced object takes the most restrictive permissions of the objects contained. So if you see the coalesced item in your inventory and it is set to non-copy, there is at least one non-copy item in there. I wouldn't delete any coalesced inventory item. Rez it first and sort out what is there.
  25. What is the name of this game/gun? Are you in a script enabled area? Try detaching and reattaching the gun? Try going to another sim, like a script enabled sandbox and testing it?
