Grampas released last night, and slowly it filled up through the early morning. Dang, there are 2 spots on Cougar that I'm really interested in, and I went crazy and grabbed content packs with my hunting alt, who is now in timeout! D'oh!

Sometimes they get hung up until another of the same type of house is released. That just happened, but unfortunately I got the OTHER one, and someone else snagged yours. Ah well! I'm actually pining for one which is attached to land, I miss having one. But it will happen sometime. Thanks!

How genteel, that sounds like Half Deer's year-round product line! I think it's when folks' decorations extend to banks of prim snow, tall screens of snow-covered trees, particle snow, nativities or snowmen in spring that the time limitations come in handy.

Fool's Errand appears to have stalled. I see only 2 homes taken there, still. First mentioned as releasing on Wednesday, then Flower got one there 2 hours ago. Checked a few homes, never been claimed. p.s. hunting on land page for a land-connected boat, just for a challenge lol. And because I let mine go and miss it!

Hello Tauriel, welcome to the forums! There's only one way to get a Linden Home of any kind, and that is by choosing it on the land page. The first 3 posts in this thread cover that very well. The rest of the thread mostly deals with how to get a new-style (Bellisseria) home when they are very scarce. Eventually, you may wish to read through those posts, because right now we are in a situation where houseboats are rarely seen on the land page. Maybe two or three times a day. Right now, if I wanted a houseboat, I would drop by the land page whenever I could and do one set of 10 refreshes (after 10 you either have to wait 10 minutes to try again or relog to get another 10 tries). Eventually you'll get lucky and see a houseboat come up, and then you must move QUICKLY to claim it, as there are a lot of other folks watching for houseboats just now. As to the vacant boats you've seen, I bet that the parcels those boats are on are actually owned by someone. Just because the parcel owner hasn't moved in yet (and many people leave their parcels empty for months or, seemingly, forever), does not mean the land isn't owned. A parcel needs to be abandoned, in which case it will be owned by Governor Linden, before it can show up on the Land page. At this moment, the only boats you'll see on the land page are ones that have been abandoned by other users. That doesn't mean they are reject parcels - people abandon for many reasons. Perhaps they can't afford for the avatar to be premium any more, or perhaps they've gotten bored and want to buy a chunk of mainland, or perhaps they have an alt who got an even "better" parcel, or perhaps they want to go try another type of home. I'd say over half of the excellent parcels I've gotten have been abandons. As to why there are no "new" houseboats available, LL has not built any new houseboat regions for several months. They have said that at some point in the future they will build more houseboats. None of us know when that will be.

Among other things, it tells you where to pickup the Citizen's Group notecards if you aren't a group member, and how to get a rez zone hud that will tell you where in the region you are in there are rez areas. At this point, I don't think the covenant should be changed to limit houseboat builds further. I see your point, Marianne, about HBs being so close to one another in the rows of rectangular docks, though. I COULD see something being done if reports of attempts to make houseboats into something they're not became rampant. I credit LL on acting quickly about holiday decor, as banks of prim snow swiftly appeared around Belli at Thanksgiving. No, a houseboat isn't a tropical beach, but probably I wouldn't AR one next to me. But if there were 3 around me, and I really liked my parcel ... yes, I'd probably AR them, and point out in each report that the really difficult part of it was that I found myself in a cluster of wannabe beaches. One thing I might do if I were on the fence about whether or not to AR a build is to private message a few people in this forum, with pictures, and ask them their opinion, rather than posting pics publicly on a thread.

Well, I gave up a primo parcel in Dallarna to try for a specific Edmund home, no luck so far. This person really, really wants to live on a tropical beach. If they haven't had that parcel for long, I'd derender and wait to see if they move on. It's not like tropical beaches are hard to find in SL.

So far! Let's look at SSPE1188, just north of Randelsham. Randelsham's train track ends on top of a butte, 69m high. Across the water, maybe 50 or so meters away, there is ANOTHER butte, also 69m high. The water here is an inlet of (what I call) Big Bird Lake (the long central lake that Coby explored in the post right before this one). Incidentally, stunning pic Coby! My alt got a parcel in Yew Betcha yesterday, right on the cute little lake, water on 2 sides. She tells me, tho, that I should have let it go and kept trying for a home right near where the road passes into SSPE1188. There isn't enough space for a cabin there, and should the moles site an epic trestle bridge there, oh, the view! There is plenty of space for homes in SSPE1188, right beyond where the road will be. I bet that when the SSPE regions are built out, there will be some amazing parcels. with rez zones all along Big Bird Lake.

The curved wood beams in the train station! *dies* I really, really hope that the landscaping in the portions of the unbuilt SSPE regions that aren't going to host homes (narrow spits of land etc.) is as lush as Randelsham looks in these pics! Lovely! (haven't been able to visit yet)

Fun with terraforming! I've spent quite a bit of time looking at the map, and I love the water "animals" that the Moles (Lindens? I don't know who creates the terrains) created for LogLand. Of course there's the unmistakable central creature, whatever it is. I call it "Big Bird". Note the crest to the right of the head, made of that stone circle and a diagonal line of hills. Loon lake! We are holding on to an Aconti home with fantastic sunset views here, hoping the moles let us keep those when they finish the SSPE regions! Must find loon sounds. Mouse Pond Jellyfish Flats, clearly a jellyfish swimming downward. *puts fingers in ears* No, I don't want to hear any lewd suggestions! IT'S A JELLYFISH 🤐

I want an actual green color for the log home exterior. Not the brown-with-a-green-tinge that they have now, an actual subdued green stain. Here is Sherwin-Williams' exterior stain palette. Personally, I could go for either the 1st or 3rd one in the bottom row!
