I see the SecondLife Thought Police have arrived.
Sprout Evergarden replied to Anna Nova's topic in General Discussion Forum
Finally, if you go to any other Game's website WoW, GW2 ect they have the same rules in there forums it will be refreshing to read the forums without the constant politicking. As i stated in another thread and basically was drummed out I just Simply Don't care These are endless arguments that will never have a resolution. -

The funny thing is in Mathematics there is a Discipline that is closely related to Philosophy that debates things like why does 1+1=2 and not 11 the reason of course is it's the numerical system we use. what is fun to think about is why do we use base 10? its not that efficient which is why we end up with repeating 3s If you ever want your mind blown look up Babylonian mathematics they used a Sexagesimal number system (Base 60!) and were sometimes as a result able to calculate things to amazing levels of accuracy

Replica AI in Second Life
Sprout Evergarden replied to Lord Derryth's topic in General Discussion Forum
for one thing human experimentation ethics. Recently there was a Case where created a model for GPT-3 chat bot using data from one of the most vile places on the internet. the Politics containment board at 4chan he subsequently unleashed his creation upon the same board to see the results It fooled people until it started posting blank replies. Than posted his findings online the aftermath has been multiple ethics firestorms. the most important is Ethics in his actions ie should people be warned they are interacting with an AI (consensus is a pure yes) and a minor debate on the ethics of creating a real internet hate machine. Note i am not linking to any articles about this because they lead to places where you can download or interact with the GPT model which would probably get me in trouble on the forums found a safe video about it Please avoid Politics talk i am sure this same thing would have worked in a Progressive Echo chamber as well with the right datasets. Strong"chat bot" AI in SL would be interesting but it would have to screen in its username group, titles, Profile perhaps a different text color like red that it is a bot or else you run into the same ethics stuff as the above example -

Sprout Evergarden replied to Gopi Passiflora's topic in General Discussion Forum

Most people probably do the fact is they simply Don't care. Most people have More pressing real world day to day things to worry about. The fact is Green Technology is too darn expensive and too darn unreliable to be a viable replacement in the eyes of 90%+ of the population do they simply Don't Care. in fact it's like every other activist cause most people just simply Don't care. And to be honest with you I can't blame them because I also Don't care.

To all the people born in the 90s
Sprout Evergarden replied to CaithLynnSayes's topic in General Discussion Forum
that is not necessarily true the fact is all plants are toxic just some have toxins we can handle where some animals can't. prime example we can eat chocolate where many other animals like dogs can't. or if you were stranded in Australia and followed the example of a Koala and ate eucalyptus you wold suffer from Phloroglucinol poisoning. -

not just a good knife or two, an Axe and and at least 3 sources of fire the best two are a magnifying lens and Ferrel rod learning to use a bow drill or a fire shuttle should be your third and those old time resapies wont be doing you much good in the wood learn to hunt, and dress game and what plants in your area are safe to eat. or at minimum the Universal Edibility Test https://www.backpacker.com/skills/universal-edibility-test/ -

Sprout Evergarden replied to CaithLynnSayes's topic in General Discussion Forum
If its anyone who survives that situation you describe it will be people who live in rural areas with more immediate access to food civilization started with the plough and it will end with it as well the further you are from a farm the deeper your into a Technological trap. and most modern farmers would not make it unless they are amish -
To AR Is Human . . .
Sprout Evergarden replied to Scylla Rhiadra's topic in General Discussion Forum
never use AR in the forums for the simple fact that it never occurred to me that it was a thing. heck I rarely AR in world just things that are blatantly disruptive (huge prim in a rez area blocking a linden road that is being sat on to keep it from it being auto retuned) or blatantly destructive (self replicating prims crashers that sort of thing -

At the risk of getting in trouble…
Sprout Evergarden replied to Pixie Kobichenko's topic in General Discussion Forum
Arent call out threads against the rules of these forums? while they are not mentioned by name you did not exactly make any attempt to cover up there logo. LL seriously needs to lock this thread on those grounds alone. -
How about we keep talk on the SL forums about SL stuff. Political arguments are circular and will never be resolved. and the ones that are the most loud mouthed about it on both sides of the fence are a bunch of extremist Totalitarian oiks
