  1. good, people don't need another reason to be on there phones and not watching the road.
  2. i hope they have a prim dog someplace on that parcel otherwise ewwwww that's nasty
  3. I turn on payment information requirement in every parcel I own because it is the single best way to stop "Throw away accounts" from visiting to cause trouble. Which is what linden lab indented the feature to be used for as a Security feature. Security is Ostracizing and exclusionary by it's verry nature it mostly goes after people who wish to do bad things but can occasionally get people with no bad intentions Even real life law has to dance around these lines there is a thought experiment that is hotly debated in Law enforcement circles called the freezing Man which reads as the following. A hiker in the mountains gets cought in a blizzard which restricts his visibility and the accompanying windchill is regarded Dangerous to human life. Fortunately the hiker comes across someone's Hunting cabin and find's a key for it hidden under the mat and he goes inside purely to shelter himself from the elements. while he is sheltering the blizzard dumps enough snow on the ground to make the trails impassable and the weather becomes cold as well so he winds up staying a few days in the cabin until it is safe to go back outside During the hiker's stay he burned the cabin owners firewood and ate some cans of beans found in the pantry. Should the hiker be charged with one or more of the following Trespass (Class A misdemeanor... ticket and sent on your way) or burglary (class F felony 12.5 years in prison) yes you can go to prison for saving your life in this way if the Jury does not pay attention to all the elements of a statute
  4. don't have any SL bikes but i do have two RL ones the first is a E-bike I bought to go around town to get groceries go to the library other short trips This second one is for longer trips and when i have to go in higher speed roads i would not feel safe to ride the e-bike on (yes that is what it looks like on it) and before anyone decides to make snarky envinmentalist type comments about a Internal combustion engine on a bicycle i get 160 Kilometers to an liter of fuel on it i don't think i will be killing the envinment with it
  5. Not Second Life related related but still a pet peeve. one of my Guilty pleasures is the Video game series Fallout the first game in particular painted such a dark tone and picture where sometimes the best thing that happened was when terrible people were the winners everything was a jagged pill to swallow and your thrown in many situations that would crush the humanity out of any decent person all sacrificed to get water for the people of your home and when i was all over you were turned away by the the community you sacrificed to save. and that was how the game ended you the hero who save not just your vault but all that remains of humanity walking off into the wastes head hung low, defeated and broken. it painted a picture that got you thinking what is the phycological price of heroism. I recently picked up the 4th installment of the series on steam sale and while a fun game it just foes not feel like my beloved Fallout so i decided to mod it and add some of items we had from the original game in to make it feel at least like it is in the same Post war America and i found what i was looking for but also the thing that inspires the pet peve post Skimpy Armor mods so many Skimpy armor mods! Because when your in a world full of radiation hazards all over the place and your walking around in old ruins full of jagged bits of 200 + year old steal, wood and glass your going to want some skimpy armor! seriously do people even think at all when they make these things
  6. Last time i looked at the Full Avatar section on Marketplace was like this
  7. you might want to eat raw meat until you get worms** so you can get prescribed that drug in a form that is approved for use in humans your less likely to hurt yourself with it. Yes It is available with a prescription for humans and is even on the "WHO Model List of Essential Medicines" **please don't actually give yourself worms or use a Anthelminthic to attempt to prevent the Coof you will just get the Coof on top of a case of the Intentanal creepy crawlers
  8. getting one's dress and makeup to match is hard in SL
  9. for all the people who keep telling me I need to put some meat on my bones
  10. don't mind me I am just getting cute pink fur all over this sofa
  11. this dress was amazing back in the day honestly is still is This second picture while not as old is probably one of the best pictures i ever took in SL (if you look closely you can see my avi climbing into the Cockpit of that intruder.
  12. the only reply this needs to be honest because it basically runs on the same assertations as the original poster does
  13. There is nothing inherently bad about civilization in fact one of its products "the social contract" preserves the lives of many people because with out it and all of its laws it would be people killing each other for the most petty reasons. Civilization as a whole with all its laws order and architecture has been a net positive for humanity. But than I read your image and realize your issue is not with civilization it is with Modernity which is not shocking people have been confusing civilization with modernity for a long time. Modernity started showing it's head between The age of enlightenment (late 18th Century) to Fin de Siècle (end of the 19th century) and has been with us ever sense. defining it simply is imposable but I can list it's effects Scientific inquiry Use and dependency on technology, Rise of industrial capitalism, Mass urbanization, Mass communication, Participatory politics, Belief in the integrity and dignity of the individual, Increase in secularism in public life And last but not least Belief in progress as a good thing. This has been pulled out and Questioned Twice since we became Modern once after the Horrors of World War 1 and again after world war 2 both time after we looked back at the mess and mass death brought upon by mechanized warfare. Modernity gave us the Industrial Revolution and the rise of empire both of which have been disasters for the human race however, it also gave us Modern Medicine and Agriculture that keeps billions of people alive. And that's the rub While as a Whole Modernity has been a extremally panful process we are now forever under it's grasp because if we abandoned it and all it's mechanization billions of people would die. and for those who think that tribalism was fantastic.. I am just going to leave this here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rwandan_genocide
  14. Time for the invasion You will be hugged Resistance is Futile and who would want to anyway?
  15. Rember folks Inside Every human is a Skeleton who wants there freedom form there meaty cages
  16. I know that experience well hence why I am useing a Mac on the desktop(if I want a command line I want it native and not threw an emulation layer) and use Linux for high security stuff Nvidia is pretty much windows only sadly Apple don't like em and there operation with the Kernel team is Infamously bad even with the chips they try to sell into the android market. share there a couple hacks you can try like ForceFullCompositionPipeline = On but they are still bad hacks so your pretty much stuck with AMD cards on linux (only enough just like a intel Mac) Only enough with AMD all the tearing and redraw issues go away but when you already have a GTX 2060 you might as well use windows and fight the telemetry monster.
  17. Getting all dolled up incase Lucille decides to introduce me to that hot guy George Also I enjoy Jinxing things it's a skeleton thing you would not understand
  18. George looks like my kinda guy care to introduce us? Hubba Hbuba!
  19. Installing Graphics cards in Line is not that hard for example if you have a AMD GPU your golden the drivers are in the OS thanks to AMD working with the linux people to get there hardware supported Natively for Nvidia GPUs it can be slightly harder and by harder I mean double click on "other drivers" Program and let the wizard that launches download and install the driver for you
  20. guild wars still has some of the best video game music ever years later the theme to Factions is as haunting as it ever was Perhaps one of the best Guild was had to offer was in the first game the story would eventually take you to a desert that was littered with the remains of past explorers and failed attempts of civlisations everyone who had come to the crystal desert have died horrably and while you try to survive it in the background you hear a song that reflects the desolation of this desert but still shines with hope of surviving the trials of accention I give you Crystal Oasis the third game trailed south of the desert to a African inspired land of Eleona this was a connate inspired by high Arabian civilization and Sub-Seharin africa and They gave us a beutafull theme song as ever to set the mood.
  21. if you have an AMD cpu or graphics card stay away from win 11 for now https://www.theverge.com/2021/10/13/22723998/windows-11-update-amd-ryzen-cpu-performance-worse I just moved back to 10 because 3 fps is not a good time as far as os wars I use all three. Mac OS as my desktop and laptop OS, Windows PC with steam local streaming so I can play my favorite games at my Mac (this lets me keep the hot game PC that is doing the heavy lifting for the games in the basement where heat management is easier and also keeps my office comfortable) low TDP M1 Macs are great for the cooling bill and they run nice and quiet so I can concentrate on my work I also keep a small business class like the one pictured Running linux with a security hardened kernel minimal software and a hardened web browser that tosses it's cookies when closed. I use for things like shopping online banking online or any other online business where secruity or cross website tracking is a concern. I should also mention this machine is also ran headless and I use a Remote Desktop protocall to access it as well (that way I only have to use one monitor for everything) I also use BSD server for network attached storage. this also runs a linux vm that serves as my downloads sandbox (all files and programs are downloaded to this VM first be scanned for viruses and worms before it sees my real computers. this too is also in the basement
