  1. I took off both the head and the body, to show some base skins. This is on the default body and head, so it is how the creator made them. I have from top left: New Faces, The Skinnery Sienna, Pumec Oksana and The Skinnery Ciara. The Skinnery skins comes with head appliers. The next picture shows LeLutka head with the system body, the system skin from The Skinnery, and the skin applier used on the head. Body and head look the same. The last picture is with BoM on both body and head. The skin is baked on the body and the head. I suggest you do as I, take off the body and the head to see if you have a skin like this. Edit: I think my head is white because it is a LeLutka without materials. Materials layers adds shine. I used an old head so I should not lose my current look. I did not pay attention to the neck, so it is a crack here. Could be because I should have a different head alpha.
  2. How about contacting The Skinnery or ask in The Skinnery group chat? Maybe someone has solved the problem. I do not know how someone can say it is the body that is the problem, since it is affecting the head. The controllers for a body does not affect a head. Even if they use Maitreya or the Legacy. What I can think about is that some of the body parts has BoM turned on and some has them turned off. Or that she is using a mix of appliers and system skins. Let me try to explain: A male alt has BoM head but uses appliers on the body because the skin maker has not made BoM body skins. Another alt, female, is using an applier for the head and BoM for the body. So I must be sure that I am using the correct product for the different parts. The male must use a system tattoo layer for his face and body appliers. The female must use an applier for the facial skin and a system skin for the body, and the body parts must be set accordingly to that. It is so many skin parts. It is a skin option for using a mesh head with a system body. These kind of skins has an orange face. The skin will look good on a BoM body, but have an orange face.
  3. Try to log in to Hatton. I tried first two other places - last location and home, then I came in when I used Hatton.
  4. The popular stores I go to, send an automatic message about this scam every time someone enter the store. And they have done this for years. But with many more new people trying SL, it is people who have no idea how it works and are easy tricked.
  5. It is actually 2 bodies. One is the Stay at Home gift. You pay the sign 1 L and Meshbody returns it to you. The other sign says free, and it is also pay 1 L. But you do not get your 1 L back. The 1 L body is identical to the 0 L body - but it has a tinting HUD too. So you can tint the skin and/or layers. I have not bothered with it. But I found it worth 1 L, just in case. Yes, I know, trust the former TMP to do it their way with 2 bodies that are almost identical. At least they are free + dollarbie.
  6. I remember the old shopping experience, but it is nothing like it now. Of course the region is packed. I used the free TP hammer from The Black Forest. Since it need a landmark to work, it was fine for me to join the Meshbody group and get the LM from there. Some waiting while I was reading a book and glanced at the screen. Landing in the middle of orange mist and loading avatars, I clicked world and show only my friends. All avatars disappeared. (I use Firestorm) Then click on male to get to the male body, land in that room and buy the body for 1 L. No shopping HUD. That one was bad in the old days. It is nothing to be upset over that they want you to join the group. It is a common demand, the group is free, just leave it after. No need to have media on in the Meshbody region. Turn it on in your home while you set up the body. If you use only BoM, you do not need it more. The alpha cut part of the HUD does not need media. Change feet height does not need media. I think it works quite well as BoM. Not so good that I will ditch my Maitreya, but perfect for an alt. My alt has no previous clothes, so that's not an issue for me. The body comes with a foot deformer. That is just another word for take off the feet and replace them with feet that can use Maitreya shoes. Disclaimer: Some is not working so well, but 9 of 10 Maitreya shoes worked. It is a good freebie. EDIT: I have not experimented with the male, to see if he can use Slink or other shoes with the deformer.
  7. Catwa has so many heads, and there are other heads too. I suggest asking for Asian skins first, and see what heads they use. As in the link from @Gregorian Chantover. The look around the eyes and nostrils is very important and should already be in place by the painted details on the skin. It is many asian skins, but not so many has that inner eye fold. One of the easier way to form a shape is in the mouth. Almost all SL skins and shapes have very full lips. This is easy fixed. But also, look at the head shape from the side, if you have a profile picture of the woman you want to look like. The first Catwa heads like Catya has lips that is protruding and this is it not easy to change. Very few shape and skin makers show the profile. You need to look at the demo from all angles. A Bento head is maybe the single most expensive thing you can buy for your avatar and it should not be rushed. Also, counting the days since Genus was closed, there are good chances that they open again soon. So personally, I would hold back shopping if I saw a skin I loved, made for Genus. Until we know what happens with the store now.
  8. My new alts profile picture. Plus the original image. I went a bit overboard with editing.
  9. I thought it was very hard to find Niramyth skins, since the creator does not use the SL template. You can also try to ask the tattoo seller, if you don't find any skins.
  10. Outfits is so easy when going Bakes on Mesh. I did not like to mess with all the slots and using "save what you are wearing" HUDs that came the last year. Plus auto alpha thingies. What a hassle, it was the most annoying in the world. Now, I save alpha layers and makeup/tattoo/hairbases with the outfit. It is done with one click. The few times I need something with a HUD, I save the HUD. Like, hairbases/lmakeup that is not updated with BoM. It is fast to apply lipstick or another single thing. I use a naked body folder and use "Add" for the folder with shoes, hair, clothes etc. I must say that I use very few folders. I prefer to do outfits that day, put together something. But I have a few ones saved for when I am in a hurry.
  11. Currently, I pay 150 L/week for 400 prims. It is in Xenosaur. It comes with a big, modern house that does not count against my prims. But I got a very pretty skybox yesterday, and I plan to empty my house on ground and live up in the skybox. 300 prims cost 100 L, but if you look at the rent boxes, there are some that comes with 400 prims. It is hard to find cheaper places to rent. If you don't find any 400 prims places there you can ask the one I rent from if he has other regions. https://community.secondlife.com/profile/1336762-iamyourneighbour/
  12. I am good to measure by looking, and your legs are perfect for a swim body.
  13. I used a fantasy name generator. I got many possible names. I used maybe half an hour. I am not sure if I will spend money to give the alt a last name. It looks okay with Resident as the last name.
  14. Stupid question. but: How about a black or dark grey BoM layer hairbase under the applier? Will it help? It does not hurt to try. I have loads of layer hairbases from before mesh, and I think it is easy to get them now too. I know No Match has them as group gifts. The group maybe has a small group fee. I am sure it is some free on the MP.
  15. It is maybe strange that I make alts instead of change myself, but I like to keep them separate. And in matching pairs. 😁 I spend money on them even if I say to myself I am going to use freebies. I come op with an idea to a look - and buy things to get it right.
  16. If you use BoM, I think you could make it less noticeable with a BoM neck fix. DeeTalez has an universal one.
  17. It is more a thing for me. But you are more like 180 - 190 cm? Six feet? You have long legs. 😉
  18. You must pick up the new free one. The difference is that you can use BoM with it. The style HUD is a bit better. Plus you can tint skin and layers with one - but that cost 1 L. And it has a great alpha cut section. I picked up one of the female bodies with an alt, and one of the male bodies with another. I am actually going to go there and get one myself. I had both the free version and the Deluxe one, but it irked me so much that it wasn't possible to use Omega with it. Now that we have BoM it is easier. Maybe the TMP body get more content now that people go there and buy it for 0 or 1 L. One of my alts had the Annie head "for ever". I still like it a lot.
  19. 3 of me. The small one in the middle is new. She is 169 cm, but looks very small in between two 190 cm tall avatars. I had wanted to make a small Asian female, but could not do it before. And now you will say, but Marianne, it is just editing, so why? Look at our feet. The Slink feet and the Maitreya feet has a fixed size. Imagine her in the middle with such large feet. It is the freebie Mesh avatar from TMP or whatever they call themself. It has feet that can be edited smaller. I have spent about 100 L on her. Free body, free head (Genus) a 50 L gacha mudskin that came with a system skin and Genus applier. Body is set to BoM. The sandals is 20 L. The rest is freebies and dollarbies. I have bought many more outfits. I sent her a spare gacha watch that I had. I have tried to make a realistic sized male too, but had the same problem. Too big feet. Using a female body with a flat chest was too much hassle. That avatar has picked up the free meshbody and will use it as soon as his skin comes in BoM for the body. I would not use 2500 or 5000 L on alts, but why not take a free body. BoM has greatly reduced the annoyance of TMP being not Omega. (And I edited my own hands bigger after that picture. I think I had them smaller in another pose and forgot to edit them bigger after). 😳
  20. As long as you buy and try the demos first! But for the shoes: I assume you wear the foot shaper, but you have not added the two with a "Box" symbol. Everything that is not painted on the avatar is an attachment, and it has to be added. It has a box symbol. So, these shoes are old. I think you have to edit them in place, and that they need a shoe alpha that may or may not be included. It can be a lot of work. And they also does not have a demo. It is better to buy 200 L shoes that you have tested, instead of buying cheap shoes unseen. So try to add everything in the folder and hope for the best! 😉 For the skin... hooo... where to begin. It is a crazy price. You must get the demo first. It is here: https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/Lefort-by-RevoulEzekiel-Catwa-Applier-DEMOs/16677690 It does not include a shape. That is not sold on the marketplace. I assume you can get a demo for it in their inworld store. Add an unknown cost for the shape. It does not include the head. Add 5010 L for a head from Catwa. It does not include body appliers. Add unknown cost. If we think the shape and body appliers is 1000 L together - wild guess, it can be more or less - we have a cost of maybe 14 000 L, and that is from the neck and up! The mesh body from Legacy are the most expensive on the market. Some defend it and say it is the best, others are more critical. It is only you who decides if it is worth it! Other mesh bodies to try is Belleza Jake or Signature Gianni. It is made much content for these bodies. I will strongly suggest you go to the Belleza store and the Signature store to get demos of them, and try then too, with the Legacy demo. For realistic skins, try stores like Birth and Avenge (on the Marketplace) or in world, Stray Dog, L'etre and Not Found. It is many more stores, but I am partial to Stray Dog. I have bought their skins for my male alts with my own money, so I am not paid to say that I like them. (because I recommend them all the time) https://www.flickr.com/photos/gac_akina/ Look at the skin recommendations and see what you think.
  21. Sorry to pile up replies like this. But I make a new reply instead of going back and editing the older ones, unless it is a typo or a minor change. The advertisement on the Marketplace has a text line under the "Buy now" tab. It says: "Get the demo version". I can not stress enough to do that, get the demo. If it is no demo, consider if you will buy this unseen, and you risk wasting your money if you think the item is something else than it is. The demo should give you a clear image of how the finished product, in this case an avatar, will look. If it looks totally different, it is not going to look better with the full priced product. Demos have lines over them and the word "demo" written on, that is the main difference. If you try the demo and are surprised because it looks different, you must read the description again and especially read what is not included. That is things you have to buy in addition to make the avatar look like it does in the advertisement. Sellers often present their products with attractive, added on details that is not included. Then they write a disclaimer. I mean "general you", because I understand you have already bought it.... 😞
  22. To continue... I can not say the ad is a rip-off. It has that disclaimer that say the mesh body is not included. But all you really get is the skin texture for a default standard head that comes free as a starter avatar. The shape is edited a bit. But from the neck and down, it is this mesh avatar: https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/NIRAMYTH-AESTHETIC-ENZO-PACKAGE-10/7037603 If you do not buy the mesh body, you can not use clothes/tattoos/shoes/ made for it. Here is a video tutorial that show how to unpack and wear the mesh body Aesthetic. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0s_PbaUM3OM Most things you buy in Second Life comes in a box or some other container. To follow up your questions, we need to know how you will proceed. Will you buy the Aesthetic mesh body, in that case all wearables you buy must be made for Aesthetic, or else they will not work. If you feel that is too high cost, you can try to use what you have without the Aesthetic mesh body. Then you must shop for wearables that "work with classic avatars". This is a different way to dress and customize your avatar. So I will not say more for now, because it will not be helpful if I start typing about how to dress Aesthetic and you don't have it.
  23. I will not call that a complete avatar. I hope you read this: DISCLAIMER : Alex avatar is wearing a body builder mesh body that is NOT included in this package. The MESH BODY has to be purchased separately.
